  1. It's moved a few times since people keep doing this crap. The two prior locations had a straight shot down the frontage road so it almost encouraged people to get on it leaving. You figured the new location at the Memorial City mall would cut down on a bunch of it since the road makes a big S turn out of the back. It's not really safe for people to nail it without something like this happening.
  2. Finally went to another gathering and see this crap in person. Older guy wearing flip-flops and clueless on how to drive it...
  3. To much money for those miles regardless of the mods IMO
  4. I'm in the market for the next DD once my TDi is bought back and can't decide what to get. Started looking at RS's but not sure how it would compare for a DD though since the ST is almost the same. I enjoyed driving the ST at one of the Ford drive experiences but was curious about the daily duties. Might be moving back soon so on the fence about an AWD vehicle or not.
  5. Nice work Paul! How do you like your ST? Would you buy another or pick something else if you did it over?
  6. ...and we are full circle. At then end of the day it's still a CHOICE and no excuse is going to change that. No one is forcing the shit down your throat...
  7. Exactly my point! Everyone of these people knows BEFORE they take anything that it affects them and typically messes them up (how much they never know). If you 100% KNOW going into it there is even a small chance something like this or worse could happen....why would you even want to take it or the chance? Becoming an addict is your own result that you created....you...and no one else. You are still in control of your own actions. I wouldn't want my family, friends, etc to only know me as a guy that died as a result of drugs, alcohol, etc...there is no excuse. So we're clear, I'm talking about people doing this crap only to get high with kids in the back of the car or anywhere else. I'm not talking about Joe that has knee surgery and is taking Oxycontin or something else for pain.
  8. You are still in control of your body, actions and life. You can tell when something's not right, I don't need a Dr to tell me that....
  9. Something I'll never understand,....I've never even wanted to try even the basic crap.
  10. This car was previously in Houston and PERFECT....sad to see it gone.
  11. Probably means something else happened to it at the shop or someone went joy riding in it. Did you record the mileage..
  12. Yes, diamond grind it down and you'll be fine...
  13. Sounds more like the car is cursed by idiots that get near it. Get rid of the thing ASAP before it's any worse...
  14. From the research I did 6-years+ ago, don't use anything that's water based. I'm sure there is something new and better out but when I did the research this was the better stuff. http://www.epoxy-coat.com/basecoat-colors Cost was a little over $400 for 3-car garage. If you want it gray or just a base color it'll be no problem. My only recommendation is if you want color flakes, order a LOT more than you think you need. I wish I would have added more color flakes to mine but it still looks great and the same as when I did it 6-years ago. If you have any cracks in the floor make sure you fill them before applying the coating. If it's brand new concrete just make sure it doesn't have any sealer on it because that prevents a lot of the coatings from sticking.
  15. Some cars are ridiculously designed and a major PITA to work on. I've had some good luck with German stuff as long as you have the right tools. YouTube helps a bunch of stuff now with DIY if you're not sure. I remember in college my wife had a Pontiac Grand Am that I had to un-bolt a motor mount and jack up the engine to replace the damn serpentine belt...
  16. I hear that, seems like everyday in Houston someones trying to take it out...
  17. Has more to do with almost 10-years old and no one wants to work on even the slightest thing anymore without going to a dealer. The dealer won't let you get out for less than $1k+ on even basic stuff. I remember when we had our 3-series we were about to go out of town so I had the dealer quote a few small items to fix while we were gone. They QUOTED me over $6,000 to repair like 5 small things... :lolguy: I bought the parts and did it myself for less than $700 in my driveway.
  18. Very nice pickup! I'm in the same boat but still shopping. I was set on a Golf R but now thinking about another truck. Might have to drive a bit my first year in Ohio so looking at more options. That is if VW ever gets to these buy backs...
  19. We were in town last week and searched a few areas. Liked the New Albany area but won't pay the prices they want...and was told any new build would have to be $625k minimum..lol. Seems my wife has fallen in love with the Dublin area but I'd like a little more land if I can talk her into it. I'm leaning more towards Jerome, Powell or Genoa/Galena areas but did really like Dublin. We will probably rent for a year just to make sure before we buy if everything goes as planned. Fingers crossed here but we'll see.
  20. Wife doesn't want to do Westerville Schools but we wouldn't ever consider a Condo, sorry.
  21. I've looked a little at it. Schools are 7/10 for many of them. Love the garage but the crime stats seem a little odd or is that normal in that area? Not sure I could fit three kids in it though.
  22. It is high but as ridiculous as it is, it's still cheaper than here in Houston... :fuuuu: The other issue is state income tax....spoiled in Texas with zero so almost anywhere we go is going to hurt us...
  23. My only concern would be can you get a tire under the thing to make it fun and useful? Unless you're building a drift car, spin city is old pretty quick..
  24. What is your property tax rate? Any good websites that I could calculate property taxes for different areas? Seems to be a big difference on areas. Trying to get an idea if I'm in for 3-4%+ like parts of Texas.
