  1. What neighborhood or development do you guys live in and any still building? Any new areas about to start building homes in the next year or so?
  2. Best part of my job is working at off peak times, hopefully that won't be an issue...
  3. Anyone up by Polaris Pkwy? East side of 71 an apartment complex called The Ravines at Westar? Anyone know of it or anyone living there? The Ravines at Westar 799 Warwick Drive, Westerville, OH 43082 Berkeley Park at New Albany 5185 Sulgrave Dr, New Albany, OH 43054 Also, looking at I believe 161 and Hamilton Rd area... The Estates at New Albany 4701 Rexwood Drive, Columbus, OH 43230 Just a few so far but looking. Didn't know if anyone had any thoughts on those two areas or apartments..
  4. Thanks for all the info everyone. We are doing our best in the time we have to see if it all works out. So far we are looking in Olentangy, New Albany, and I think Big Walnut. Hard to find many apartments that meet our requirements and in one of those areas. Maybe we can find a short term lease until we can search the area for homes.
  5. The problem is you have all these new organizations coming up that don't have the big rules and restrictions that places like the Texas Mile, Ohio Mile, etc have been requiring fore YEARS. Even TX was relaxed at first but once people started going faster and faster they have limited it a bunch. ECTA has never, they always required the full stuff just to go over 135mph. The new groups want to put on events with fast STREET cars that anyone can come out and race. Now they are seeing why it's a bad idea. Hopefully no one is seriously hurt in the process...
  6. May have an opportunity to move back to Ohio and looking for an area on the North side. I've got three small children so schools are key. We may not have time to buy right off so may have to rent an apartment until we finalize where we want to be or what we want. Anyone have any recommendations on areas? Schools? Places to look at or stay away from? Any two or three bedroom apartments that are newer with garages? Thank you!
  7. Ya but everyone knows R1's are SLOW! Post more vids mang...
  8. Not sure about Ohio but in Texas no police report you are screwed. It's your (word) insurance vs his and they'll ultimately do nothing since you're liability only. I hope that's not the case for you but what I've seen here with several people.
  9. I don't see an issue financing if you put 20-50% down and/or get a 0% or low 0.99% interest rate currently offered. The real issue is your second statement...
  10. I do love the white but my current Passat is white so looking for something different.
  11. Actually for 2017 those wheels are available in the US!
  12. Love the blue but don't know if I want the added attention for a daily driver though...
  13. Many other things to consider with that article.... One is loan term, not many people in certain income brackets put money down or finance for 4-years. Most are short leases or loans at 60-72mo+. One of the reasons GM and many others struggled with the economy dip. All the people that were getting new cars often no longer qualified for lease/financing... Average term is over 6 1/2 years according to Edmunds... http://www.edmunds.com/car-loan/how-long-should-my-car-loan-be.html
  14. I may want the AWD sooner than I though so leaning more towards the "R"... Just can't decide on the Limestone Gray or Lapiz Blue??? http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1680&stc=1&d=1398956728
  15. When I was in High School a guy out at Rankin Rd raced one that was in PERFECT condition.....silver with a Maroon top. I always liked it. Similar to this...
  16. Didn't realize value was that bad on them, down in the $40k's already?
  17. You mean Pittsburgh doesn't look like that all the time? Who knew...
  18. I thought so also but doesn't make sense to get $7k when they're paying me $28k for it. 328d...hmmm... Nothing official but it sounds like it. Unless you don't want any money than keep driving it like it is. You can't get money until it's repaired..
  19. Anything catch your eye or what are you planning to get next? I've been out looking at a little of everything and wondering if I'm missing anything. It's going to be a DD so not looking for anything crazy but would like something fun. So far I'm interested in... 2017 Golf R http://i60.tinypic.com/jruziu.jpg 2017 FOCUS RS (interior is pretty cheesy though) Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel http://o.aolcdn.com/dims-global/dims3/GLOB/legacy_thumbnail/750x422/quality/95/http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2013/02/01-2014-jeep-grand-cherokee-ecodiesel-fd.jpg 2017 Camaro 2SS (not really on my list but looking) http://www.torquenews.com/sites/default/files/image-106/50th_anniversary_camaro_0.jpg Looking for something that gets 28-30mpg+ HWY and a little fun. Would like to stay in the $40k-ish range or less. It doesn't have to be new but would prefer something reliable with a great warranty to go along with it. Just bored and looking, figured maybe if you're bored you could help...
  20. Nice pickup, hope you like it!
  21. True.... ...this isn't an official site but will give people that don't understand an idea of what they're looking at... https://byebyetdi.us/select.php
  22. It depends on your car and what the math comes out to. Why keep it for $5k when you could get $20k+ for it? If they have to fix it and it kills your mileage, in the long run it would be cheaper to just give it back and reinvest the cash into something else. For instance in my situation, why would I keep mine for $5,100 when they will give me $28k for it and I walk away driving a car for free for 3-years. I can buy something new and not have to worry about the value tanking on the car keeping it.
  23. That isn't true! Here is a link with all the details... https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/cases-proceedings/162-3006/volkswagen-group-america-inc From what I've research you either get: 1) Give them the car back and get a full refund - mileage, options, etc. --> https://www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/att._1a_-_buyback_modification_table.pdf If it's a lease then you go --> https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/cases/att._3a_-_lessee_restitution_table.pdf https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/cases/att._3c_-_lessee_restitution_redacted.pdf 2) Keep the car and let them fix it and get x amount back --> https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/cases/att._4_-_notice.pdf Seems I'll get $28k back so next question is what to buy next??
