  1. It's possible for two different ground points to have a difference in voltage between them. In that case, they are not both zero volts like we would assume. But, yeah, I don't see how that would be a big deal on a motorcycle. Maybe for the ECU? (You could look up "ground loops" and "star ground" if you feel like surfing. heh)
  2. So, a spider is a single-point ground? Is this the concept? Reduces the chance of voltage differences between spread-out ground points.
  3. I'm retracting that. Highly unlikely, I think. Since some things work and others are stuck on.
  4. I wonder if it could be a stuck relay? Still might be due to the coil wire having a short.
  5. Here's another one: The spray moved some grime around and interrupted a critical connection. Redoing the connections might clear it up. heh I mean, if it started before, but not after, you did something!
  6. Maybe there was a live line and the cleaner shorted it just long enough to pop a fuse? One time I used cleaner on a potentiometer and it fell apart!
  7. Yeah, I'd have to say, save up longer. Or maybe finance a new, left-over with a special deal.
  8. Was this mentioned before? http://www.racersedge411.com/ Their advert says payments are OK with 20% down. I don't know much about the place though.
  9. This is pretty old and might need a few parts or work. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6117058030.html
  10. This looks like a dealership. I wonder if you could finance it. It does indicate that it has some plastic damage. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6136530537.html
  11. If it's a valid advert, you could go and see it and offer less money.
  12. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6117293734.html Just found the advert. That's all I know.
  13. Do you think a Ninja 250 is the same or better than a CBR 250? There are 250's with ABS even.
  14. The 250 should be fine then. A 300 would have a little more power, but they cost more, too.
  15. The stock tires will be good enough. Watch moto3 racing. Relatively skinny tires.
  16. In that case, maybe the 250 is OK. It will be really fast compared to a bicycle and it has lights! What's the highest speed during your commute?
  17. I'd say no. Get a Ninja 500 in that case. Or just get *a* bike and start riding! By next year you'll really know what you need. Or grab that SV650 in the previous post.
  18. One downside of a cheaper phone seems to be less storage space. Sygic takes up a lot of space from what I can tell. Could try a larger uSD card, I guess.
  19. I have a cheap, Tracfone Android. I plan to try it with Google Maps. The phone itself cost maybe $40. Not a big loss if it falls off! So far, from what I've seen, using maps barely uses data. I use way more credit for texts. Topping it up is still less expensive than a monthly plan so far. I use PC's more so anyway.
  20. In Italy do they drive on the American side of the road? In England there have been incidents in which people looked the wrong way before trying to cross a street. I was a bit overloaded trying to drive a manual motorcar on the opposite side. A few times I smacked my shifting hand into the door panel. And round-abouts are clockwise.
  21. Yeah, that stuff looks good. What would be considered a bargain for an SMH10? I don't foresee needing an intercom. Mainly something that will output audio, and /maybe/ take some voice input.
  22. I need to hijack something, so... After researching less expensive (than the Sema SMH10) BT receivers, I bought a RAM mount for my phone instead. heh I figure do try this in 2 or 3 steps. First, mount the phone, then add a power connection, then maybe add BT. As it is now, I pull out my phone when I get lost, look at the map, put the phone away, then get lost again.
  23. For OP: Quick search on Cinci CR in the $3000-$3500 range. Anything decent? https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6099369934.html https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6074701551.html https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6108070880.html
  24. Just noticed an SV650S for sale. Wouldn't that be ideal? A 650 V-twin, but a sport riding position and look.
