  1. How to tell if a Craigslist response is serious or not? Or are they all not serious like Facebook responses?
  2. hiro

    ? LBTS GLWS ?

    I thunk it, too. heh
  3. Something to race...after a bit of work? 90s Honda 100 r - $400 https://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/6099414394.html
  4. Huh? 2009 Gladius - $800 https://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/6069385946.html
  5. Imma get that set soon. http://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-38-and-12-drive-metric-hex-bit-socket-set-67880.html
  6. Have to find an engineer, but, yeah, black is not so "hot" in the sun! And the neon will fade over a few years. I hear white gets dirty real quick tho.
  7. This woman made an engaging video without preaching on her experience at 120mph with only a helmet.
  8. That black an neon one looks like it would be good for hi-viz without being overkill. Combined with a helmet with some white or matching neon or reflective tape.
  9. My mesh jacket flows so much air, sometimes I double check to see if the cuffs are open. Protected me in a very short, very slow speed low-side.
  10. I just picked up Bull-it SR4 jeans for $80 before tax locally. (Thinking about some D30 knee armour, and maybe hip. I wonder if hip armour might give me some not-so-sexy curves. heh) From my limited experience, the taller the windscreen, the hotter I get. Also, in my case, a taller windscreen increased wind noise, so I go lower and go without. I don't know if fairings make a temperature difference. I've always had fairings in all my 2 years.
  11. Yeah, it's a little scary. I've been wondering why yours failed the way it did. It would suck even to have the socket fall on the fender or something.
  12. On a cooler day, you could put a hi-viz vest on, I guess. BTW, one issue with hi-viz is that it fades over time. (The combination of red, black, and white is used for baby toys for the contrast since babies can't see all that well for a time. Not sure how much attention that would catch on the street.)
  13. A kid asked me if I were a fireman. I said, no, I'm a Power Ranger. heh I think fireman would have impressed him more.
  14. It's always good to have something on your lower body, even when not riding! heh I'm about to get some riding jeans. Probably Bull-it brand. I've been feeling a little vulnerable lately. heh
  15. So many replies, I'm just going to throw in this colour before reading them all. Archers say that pink is hi-viz compared to natural surroundings. I'm partial to bright green. As far as reflectives go, there is a black tape to lights up white at night. In New Jersey, riders are required to have a minimum area of reflective tape on their helmets. I think it does make a difference, but maybe better to not go overboard and blind anyone.
  16. Double adapted the 15mm pin to 27.75mm. Cost $3.40 with tax for the 15mm socket and optional washer. The only concern is that, if the edge of the washer is pressed it lifts the sockets! Might be nice to tack weld the washer and 15mm socket, but I don't weld. heh Haven't tried it yet, but if it fails, I probably will sweep the incident under the rug.
  17. Yeah, like remove the plastic wrap and the zinc coating on one side and the paint on the other side. If they rust together, would never have to worry about the pin falling out!
  18. I got another topic if that helped. heh (R&G no-cut vs Woodcraft cut vs nothing frame sliders.)
  19. Small problem. The Pitbull pin is about 19.3mm and the stand is only 19mm even. The original pins are like 18.85mm. Might have to look into sockets again because I don't want to mod the stand or the new pin.
  20. Oh, wow. Almost a disaster. I rolled out and grabbed the #15. It was $20 tho. Shown next to a 13mm pin. My plan was to use a 15mm pin and two sockets. Might cost $3 and some work, but if I drop the bike and hit my wife's car, I'm done. haha It still might need something like a washer to give the clamp something to rest on?
  21. So...how do you know so much about that? Wait. I don't want know. heh
  22. It's like this one. http://www.genssi.com/index.php/motorcycle-stand-triple-tree-head-front-and-rear-spool-lift.html The base of the original pin is about 19mm/0.75" wide and 30mm/1-1/8" long. I need the the top of the pin to be just under 28mm. I read that the #15 is 27.5mm and the 21mm socket is 27.75mm OD.
  23. So, my Ninja 650 has a 28mm hole for the front stand. Should I get a Pitbull #15 pin for my non-Pitbull stand or just use sockets to adapt the size? Anyone have a spare #15 or know where to get one locally? Any stability issues using sockets? I found that I could use a 21mm socket over a 15mm socket. Only thing is, the combination is too long, so I'd have to grind down the 15mm socket for a better fit. Also, the 21mm socket goes in far enough, but it stops against something inside the head tube. I wonder if it's a bad idea to put all the weight on that spot? I did think of using a huge washer to give the clamp something to rest on. Just have to find one.
  24. Oh, raising the idle a little made that tinking noise go away. It was down to maybe 1k RPM. Spec is 1300 +/-50.
  25. No (visible) dry rot on the old ones even. I guess 3 summers isn't bad.
