  1. Could you show some photos and add some details? I need to do this.
  2. I'm considering a Nelson Rigg CL-1060-S Sport tail bag. Depends on total price.

    % of pro-rated $

Oh, didn't notice this before. They probably kept an additional 10% per bike due to the multi-bike discount. But I get 15% off for "Sport Bike Safe Operator Discount." heh

    % of pro-rated $

Renewed around March 23, cancelled May 8. The refund is just over 57% of the premium. (Minus 40% was a good estimate!) The premium was about half of what it costs for the newer bike anyway. I never told them I dropped the bike once for fear of a rate increase.

    % of pro-rated $

Just read a FAQ that I would be refunded only a percentage of my pro-rated insurance premium for early cancellation. Is that common? It was only $143 for the year and I only had the coverage for maybe 2 months. Maybe I'll get the $3 back? heh

    CR, real response?

Wow, so one response that I didn't trust initially ended up being my buyer.
  7. SOLD, but I don't know how to mark it sold.
  8. That's probably it. The 650 heats up more than the 300 and the fairings probably hold in some heat while sitting still. The cap opens easy, so that's good. It takes a little more pressure to close it compared to my other bike (for sale!) No loss of power as far as I know, and no tank implosion or explosion yet. heh No drips on the ground. I checked for kinked hoses. Well...at least I learned about the ventilation system.
  9. I would hope it isn't something like this old recall. Found it on a Vulcan forum. Recall Date:09/09/2008 HTSA Recall #: 08V473 Kawasaki Recall #: MC08-15 Risk: On the affected fuel tanks, under certain riding conditions, fuel can leak from between the tank filler neck and the fuel cap gasket. Fuel leakage in the presence of spark or flame could cause a fire or explosion possibly resulting in injury or death. At least death is the worse thing that could happen in that case. heh
  10. Tried that and it seems OK. Not sure about venting through the cat itself. I can only guess that it's OK.
  11. You could always ignore my posts unless someone complains? You think I feel any better getting useless replies? I don't exactly have a team of mechanics to set up and maintain my bike. heh Maybe I'd be better off in a Kawasaki forum anyway. At least they would know what I'm talking about.
  12. Yeah, there is another hose from drainage. The one shown vents from the tank through the gas cap, then it seems to run to the ground. I don't think this model has a evap system. The Ninja 300 has the whine when shut down. This Ninja 650 does not whine, for better or worse. BTW, I've seen mods in which the vent holes are made larger to get rid of the whine.
  13. Bike smells like fuel in the garage. It might be OK, but it raised a question about venting. The first photo is not my bike, but is shows the vent connection between the cap and tank. I'm wondering if it's possible that my vent is misaligned a little, partially blocking the vent. I wonder if that could lead to pressure being release too slow and continuing after I park in the garage. Sometimes I hear either vacuum or pressure being released when the cap is opened. The second photo is my bike. Is it normal for the nipple thing to hit the edge of the seal? I wonder if it slips into place or remains pressed into the seal. (The cap closes in the SW direction.)
  14. Wow, makes me want a bike like that! To me the bike /looks/ huge and cumbersome, but it moves! Having some cargo space wouldn't hurt either. (I don't know if I'm getting smarter or just older. Probably just older. haha)
  15. I'll be watching... heh Made some comments and sent some invites.

    RENT for a week

Seems further than 45 minutes? (The only thing holding me back now as far as distance goes is windnoise. Ear plugs help, but I had ringing in my ears before I even started riding.)

    RENT for a week

BTW, I was thinking of renting out my bike, but it's a 300 and I figure I would need commercial insurance. Don't know anything about that...or business in general. heh

    RENT for a week

I ran a red light and the one car about to enter from the right stopped for me. Maybe the gear helped? I have some bright green and white. I was looking too far ahead for a turn through multiple lights. There were a bunch of lights close together. As I was about to enter the intersection I looked up and it was red. Maybe it just changed. Don't know. Went for the front brake, but true to my long streak of luck (and a driver minding the traffic--thank you!) I didn't need to get drastic.

    CR, real response?

I don't like to talk to strangers on the phone either. heh I like e-mail, but now that's getting old fashioned, too!
  21. Did you check the fuse? heh Just making sure!
  22. I wonder if the phone requires a special cable by design. It could also be resistance in the cable or connectors, or a weak voltage regulator. A linear regulator only needs maybe 2V above the output voltage, but they waste power and could even go into thermal shutdown, I think. Not sure how much input voltage a switching regulator needs, which is probably what the USB charger uses, and it also has a current limit. Anyway, even if the bike's charging system isn't working right, the batter should have enough power to charge a phone!

    CR, real response?

I'm starting to wonder if I should register it again so I can ride it legally to work and park it with a for sale sign on it. Public location along a busy road. Or get commercial insurance and rent it to newer riders? heh

    CR, real response?

I don't give out my number tho. Should I start? I've only had one confirmed serious response and the person came over. The last one wants me to e-mail back to his personal e-mail address and domain. That one seems suspicious to me. I might try Cycle Trader.
