My tracer burnt through the stock rear in less than 3500 miles.

Great ride today. Perfect pace and weather turned out great. Group worked out great it was good to ride with you fellas. @Iggy hope you got her home without issues. @Shoop thanks for putting it together.

Crisp fall air I’m guessing.

I can do Saturday or Sunday. Hell I can do Saturday and Sunday. I still got the pair.

Looks like the medium group will be about my pace. I will sweep it.

@SpecialEd 42 weeks at UTI and you could gain the knowledge to get that bike on the road. Maybe then you and @Tonik could take a weekend trip and consummate that relationship

I’ll be there. Med or med-fast. However the groups shape up. If there’s a group from the north coming down 83s I’ll pick it up in New Concord.

Since we’re going there. By using yamalube in the GT and keeping record of changes. (Shop or diy) Yamaha warranties the engine for 20yrs 100,000miles. So good old 10-40 yamalube dyno oil it is. Can’t see spending extra on anything else.

Got the Road 5s mounted up yesterday and looking forward to giving them a good scrub in today. For a tire that’s supposed to give good mileage they were easy to mount and feel nice and sticky. Did take a lot of weight to balance though. First time I ever used 2oz on a wheel.

Damn. $1300!! Guess there’s one advantage to getting old.

Guessing they go with whatever they can get the cheapest bulk deal on. Not a brand hater. Think I’ve found some pretty nice tires in all the major brands except Michelin this will be my first set. Seems you mostly get what you pay for. Hell I ended up with Shinkos in a pinch once and to be honest they were pretty nice. Sticky, good in wet, wore well but sidewalls Seemed especially soft when loaded for a trip. Recommend tire pressure was crazy high due to soft sidewall.

After a damp morning commute on sketchy tire there will be no budget tires going on the bike. Gonna try the road 5 since they currently have a rebate.

I also had great luck with RS3. Got almost 7,000 out of last set. I just hate needing a tire when on a trip and don’t want to pull off a decent tire before the trip. Just gotta throw something on to burn up this fall and early spring

Stock tires just didn’t make it long. Planned to put on Roadsmart 3 tires but at this point I think it’ll put me between tires for trip next year. Probably gonna go with something cheaper due to this. Anybody got experience with Dunlop’s Roadsport 2 or the rereleased roadsmart 2. Both out in past year and a set is $160-$180 dollars.

Just gave the chain a scrub and lube and wondering what products folks like to use. I’ve always used kerosene to clean because it’s very effective, even the spray can I take on trips smells like it’s mostly kerosene. In the past it was always a grunge brush to clean and a fairly light spray lube. This year been using one of those small spring looking cleaning brushes exclusively. Believe it was @Pauly I saw using one years back at the gap. They are great to take along on trips due to size. Also switched up to motul paste wax and it seems to hang on the chain very well. Still clean mine weekly but with this stuff I think I could let it go a bit longer. Just wondered what others have found to work well. I miss shaft drive every time I clean the damn thing.

Been using a uclear and Sena for years and the only time I link up is on week trips with my buddy Ford in case of ohh shit moment. In for years and 6 or so big trips we actually connected one time. However they are awesome for tunes, gps directions, and not missing an important call.

Got hung up with some family things in the wee hours of the morning. Really wish I wouldn’t of missed this one looks like you had a blast and an awesome group today. Next time....

Nope. I’m not big on walking. I prefer the slingshot maneuvers or possibly acme rockets. It’ll be a Saturday morning so seems fitting.
