  1. Batteries: It's worthwhile to get a "good" battery. The junk they sell at Wallmart, etc. is very sensitive to vibration and impacts. Harris sells good stuff if you have an outlet around. R/R's: They do get hot, and that's normal. Its actually better to have a substantial load on your system to take some of the load off your R/R. So if you've done something to lighten the load, like exchange regular headlights with LEDs, then that can cause overheating. Updating to a better type R/R is worthwhile, but leave that install to someone with experience. Connectors: Disconnect them, inspect for burn marks/overheating, clean them with a contact cleaner, then coat them with Dielectric Grease before reassembly. Volt/Ohm/Amp meters: Careful! When set to Ohms, there is a direct short from red to black, so to clarify, do not check "VOM continuity across the battery leads..." in the "OHM" setting....use DC VOLTS setting. When checking the phases on your stator the "Should be less than 1.0 ohms" can be influenced by your meter and the meter test leads. So, it may show a little more than 1.0 ohms. Good luck.
  2. Spent big $ on my GSA, for one reason because it needs no accessories. Suspension good for heavy load, plenty of electronic aids, perfect windscreen, ...flame away!
  3. https://www.lonerider-motorcycle.com/products/motobags?variant=43615577797 Expensive for sure.
  4. Nice...curious why you run (what looks like) 2 GPS units?
  5. Got out for a nice ride today (Christmas eve)...about 85 miles. Temps 34-36. Light traffic and mostly clear roads. Anyone else??
  6. I've eaten some meaningful cookies!
  7. OK, Had to google it. The "GET BACK" whip for self defense and/or a visual accessory. That's pretty funny $hit right there! Maybe one could use it to whip the ass of their iron horse to try to get it to go faster and get the fuk out of my way!
  8. By "tassle", do you mean that rope clamped to the brake lever??? Ive seen a few cruisers with that this summer. What the fuk is the purpose??? Looks damn dangerous to me. Snag that on something and lock up the front. WTF????
  9. I've noticed on here, Dan, that people really cant give you any light-hearted jabs, or playful banter, without you "knee-jerking" with a defensive and attacking response. This is, again, why i added an apology to the post. It takes an effort, and a little humility, to see the humor in these responses, and comeback with empathy to the poster's intent, and be a better person sometimes. Again, I meant no 'belittling'. Please accept my apology.
  10. No ridicule intended. Ignorance is not causal in this case. I fully believe, but have not experienced.
  11. Pretty much the response i expected, which is why i added the apology at the end. ...Lighten up buddy!
  12. Congrats on the weight loss. However, progressing from FJR to Indian is NOT progress!!
  13. It's all starting to make sense now!.... Sorry Dan, couldn't resist!

    heated grips

Who knows? Likely all mass produced by the same 3rd-world children. But here is a story of the earlier Gerbing... https://gordonsheated.com/index.php/about-gerbin

    heated grips

Been very happy with these for several years..relatively inexpensive.... https://www.thewarmingstore.com/gerbing-g3-gloves-12v.html Not much physical protection but warm and dry. They tend to run a bit large.
  16. Do we want to know how you've come to this realization?
  17. Wait a few minutes until her mood swings and see how she feels!
  18. I sent mine back after nearly losing the bag while rolling down the freeway. Had to keep it bouncing between my arms until i got off the exit. The bag itself is decent, but the locking mechanism is a joke. Switched to a SWmotech bag and couldn't be happier.
  19. Ive had excellent experience with Givi over the years, with the exception of their tanklock tankbags, which is a complete POS design. All their top cases are a great value and good quality.
  20. I'm sure you guys have considered the heat factor. In all but the higher elevations, this trip is likely to be damn hot. A month or 2 later would make the trip more enjoyable. Just a friendly reminder!
  21. Yeah, you might be wearing the center more quickly than you think. The rock used in the roads out west is a lot of granite...great traction, but wears the hell out of your tire, and you'll most likely see a lot of heat. (more wear).
  22. Nice loop! Definitely hit Redfish lake and Stanley in the Sawtooths, then on to Craters of the Moon. Do you think you can make the trip on 1 rear tire?
