    Dielectric grease in sealed connectors is a very good idea. Make sure it's dielectric grease though.

    The SV650 is worth the few extra $ compared to the rest of the bikes discussed, all else being equal. No comparison. My $.02.

    Regarding solar...I just picked up one of these for motorcycle camping this summer... https://luminaid.com/collections/solar-lights/products/luminaid-packlite-16 Seems pretty sweet with a decent amount of output, and packs very small. havent tested the battery life as yet.

    When you live in the Permacloud of Ohio, solar doesnt make much sense. Better to charge a battery pack from a running bike to have power available when it's not!

    This is the reason ive never rode in/to Michigan...see map! However, I would like to get up to the UP to see what thats all about. Is it worth slabbing UP there??

    Most ohio roads are tore up.....one of the reasons I bought a bike with 9 inches of suspension travel!!

    Thanks for the update. Note that fresh asphalt can be very slick as well until some of the oils get washed off, and more stone gets exposed.

    It's an overrated, ripped up, narrow road with lots of blind turns. Dozens of Ohio roads are much better for motorcycles.
