Home. 260 of the easiest miles I have ever done on 800. The bike has the best road manners of anything I have ever ridden and it is quick in the corners. It feels as light as the Hyper and that is not an exaggeration. The display is really intuitive and I pretty much have the hang of all the switches and gizmos. I kept it in "ROAD" (touring) most of the day, but did slip into "DYNAMIC" (sport) for a stint. Throttle response got sharper, but I was on really nice pavement, so the suspension just got a little firmer. I didn't notice much difference between the two modes regarding damping. I will play some more when the road gets choppy and see how it does. I ride it in the "MINIMUM" setting for preload, so it is probably hindered a little. If I put it in "MAXIMUM"....I can't touch the ground. Looks like I will have to grow into this one. I will ride again tomorrow. Probably taking a different route, but I hope to leave early enough to catch lunch in Weston, WV and be home by dark. I did this on the Hyper and it was 475 miles in 9 hours. So, 8-5 should be doable...probably 9-6. Any takers? I am willing to change it up for anyone that wants to ride. This was the first twisty ride and I am already 100% in the bag for this bike. It is very easy to ride quickly and it is just at home on the highway. Work trips this season will be quite a treat. Nothing quite like being paid to ride the Appalachians. That said.... Anybody want a gently-used Hyperstrada?

RUSH is my exception to the "prog rock sucks" rule. I love Neil's lyrics.

My goal is to do it within the next couple of years.

Sure I will. Just not before I take it to Colorado for off-road school.

I found the image of a GSA being ridden "knee-down" quite amusing.

Nailed it.

I originally bought the HF unit, and a NoMar bar like you did. I found the device wasn't strong enough to hold a wheel without gouging, scratching or just plain letting it fly. I did a couple tire sets and washed my hands of it. I have no idea what you are going to do with the NoMar dog blocks. They do not integrate with the changer.

I had a HF tire changer. Do yourself a solid and buy something more substantial. The frustration of the HF machine makes the NoMar worth the extra money.

She knew and she flushed it, anyway. Do not listen to her lies.

Yeah... what part of "hokey religions and ancient weapons" didn't Han Solo make clear in Episode IV?

And I'm gonna be sedated...

That looks really good, Kent.

Would have been, had I not overslept. Looks like lunch in Ohio, today.

Rode about 300 miles today. I took 62 & 310 to Pickerington to visit my siblings. Temps were decent for December 23. I wore my textile suit with the quilted liner installed, my cool weather A-stars Stormrider gloves and Web boots with jeans and long sleeves underneath. No electric clothing and ran the grip heat on the low setting... was pretty comfortable most of the day. I think a heated vest would be more than sufficient to be quite comfortable. The roads were clean, except for one patch in the shade just as you turn right on 62 where it meets 83, in Millersburg. I hit that patch straight up and on the gas... like a big fucking dumbass. I have no idea how I did not high side. The backend shot left, then right, then left, then right... I really thought I was going to be thrown. Once I finished fishtailing across Lake 62, and hit dry pavement, the bike immediately stopped convulsing and just shot forward like a bullet. It was as composed as a preacher's wife in church... like nothing even happened. Meanwhile, I sucked my shorts up my asshole like they were a line of coke. That had me on high alert for a few miles. I almost hit a golf cart that decided to "jay walk" right in front of me. Luckily, I was only doing about 35 mph, because he caught me off guard. Nevertheless, I reacted with an immediate lever smash and the front end didn't even chirp. Not a dive, shimmy, slam... nothing. The bike just stopped. I had no idea the ABS took over until I saw the feedback on the BMW app that recorded my ride. Funny thing? Not a peep about my short stint on the ice was shown. Weird. Anyway... it was a nice trip to become better acquainted with the bike. With the exception of walking it backward down my brother's drive, I never noticed the weight of this bike. Even then it wasn't bad. I was just favoring my right leg, as it took a good smack from the engine guard during my little Icecapade. 100 mph feels like 50 on the Hyper. The highway is not a problem for this thing. It could use a little more windscreen, but I felt zero buffeting all day. It was just louder than I prefer. I was even able to ride through town at 35-45 with my visor up and I was comfortable. Cruise is good. The TFT dash is incredibly intuitive. My biggest hurdle will be learning the buttons for riding in the dark. Lots of buttons...

It's barely less shitty than Iron Pony's webstore. Get on it, pal.
