  1. Another thing to keep in mind is that all of the shops listed will most likely be out-sourcing the actual machine work. IPS uses Fowler Race Engines and couldnt be happier with them. Top-notch guys that do everything in-house and stand behind their work 110% Jeff
  2. Personally, I would have your dad or maybe even the two of you actually visit and check out each place on a saturday or later in a weekday or something. Online "Persona" and public opinion polls are great and all, but meeting the people that are actually doing the work and seeing the facility and such is much more telling than someone you dont know saying good or bad about "XYZ" shop. Just my 2 cents... Jeff
  3. Thanks for the post Shawn Got to keep his ass doing something constructive since hes been off for a week. Glad to hear you decided to move on it and cant wait to see it in person. Jeff
  4. Thanks for the post Thorne. I know it was pretty hectic saturday but it was nice talking to you. Just to clarify, from talking with Brandon, I dont think he brought the car down because he couldnt/didnt want to to do it himself. He said he felt bad for "Piling on" like many have on here without ever meeting us or ever even seeing the shop. I really appreciate the fact that you stopped down just to see who we really are and glad you left feeling good about it. Since we had more cars than techs show up all at once it took a bit longer than it would have normally, but thanks for the post and thanks again for stopping down Jeff
  5. With your ringing endorsement I am sure the "Sell" should go quite well...
  6. Boy, keeping up with all the BS you post is a full time job anymore. Ill give you one thing, atleast you are factually consistent lol. Yep, we took the car over due to the owner calling up at 3pm to let me know their flight changed to arrive the following day. I told them that every single one of us was tied up after work but I would see if the dyno was free and if Corey might help us out since an Emanage is about as basic as an AFC. He agreed and I had no problem paying him to do one on such short notice. Two of the first 15 cars scheduled to dyno here are Emange Ultimate's which allow both timing control and the ability to tune via a MAP Sensor instead of the stock MAF which makes for a much better tuning tool than a base Emange w/o the optional sensors and harnesses. Neither car will make it out of the 400-500s (awhp) but Ill post up a boost and air/fuel graph for you to critique. Jeff
  7. The headers were leaking slightly from the gaskets, nothing at all to do with the sratches on them from hanging down low. Mel purchased new headers because he lives in German Village and almost every street/alley is brick or cobblestone and they scraped all the time. Problems with leaking or any sort of tuning issues had NOTHING to do with it. The exahust leak was simply a matter of tightening them down or replacing the gaskets. The SLPs are universally known to hang down pretty low and Mels set is no different. The "damaged" area is sratched and slightly dented -- thats it. The headers themselves caused zero tuning issues at all and nor would they to anyone else that would install them. If anyone would like validation of any of this info I just spoke to the original owner and he would be more than happy to confirm. I can email detailed pics of them top to bottom or stop by and check them out in person anytime you want Jeff
  8. Nope, wheels stay on and you just drive on the rollers and strap her down. They only stick up about 1" over the level of the floor (if that). The drums on the AWD units are actually MUCH smaller -- IIRC they are like 28" tall. 1500HP / 200MPH.
  9. Im actually hoping to use it just as much to test and better parts we fabricate. Being able to swap out Turbos or a Sheetmetal Intake or different sized Throttle-Body or various cams or different diameter exhausts on the dyno will be awesome for R&D. Im very excited to start using it on both sides for sure Now we just need a 3x bigger building... Jeff
  10. See what I get for getting my info from Peanut lol.
  11. His is a Mustang and from what I hear the most conservative dyno on the planet.
  12. Swytzer has one at his house now I believe somewhere up north but that is the only other one in Ohio that I am aware of. Not sure if his is available to the public or not. AMS is the next closest... Jeff
  13. We plan on having many Not that we have anywhere to put it right now anyway, but *if* we end up picking up the used 2wd Dynojet as well, we will have a very hot set-up for dyno days Either way, we plan on setting up a few early ones soon... Jeff
  14. Since its shipping on monday I would say ready for the public in 3 weeks
  15. It has come to our attention that there are multiple rumors floating around about us “acquiring” a dyno so I would just like to address them. First off, all the rumors of us buying AutoExotica’s dyno are completely false. I too heard the rumors about them being shut-down for like a week and that is more than likely what led up to all the talk. The next was that we bought a used AWD Dyno off Ebay. Not true either. I did know the owner of that dyno and tried to get a deal worked out but we just didn’t have enough time to move on it. So no, no Ebay Dyno for us either. One that is true, but we just haven’t officially worked out the details on yet, is our purchase of a used 2wd Dynojet off a customer of ours. That one is still a distinct possibility. What are we getting then? IPS Motorsports is the proud owner of a brand spankin new Dynojet 424x AWD Dyno! Just spoke to Dynojet yesterday and ours has one more week build time (placed the order a few weeks ago) and it will be on its way. They have confirmed it will ship out no later than February 26th. We will be digging the pit (it will be an in-ground) and getting the concrete poured this week so that once it arrives we will be up and running as soon as possible. Of course we will spend some time working out the bugs, getting everyone trained with our personal cars, and getting everything situated first. Then we will actively start taking appointments and scheduling dyno days and so forth. Tilley’s Z06 and Mikes EVO are slated to be first up to really get her broken-in right! The winter has been extremely good to us and we just want to keep our business growing and continually moving forward. With all the AWD cars we work on and tune it was only a matter of time before we just had to have a dyno in-house and after talking to all the well-known dyno companies, Dynojet was an easy choice. I will post up again once its all 100% ready to go and then we will be scheduling appointments immediately after. Any questions just call the shop any time at 614-444-5884 or email me at: sales@ipsmotorsports.net Jeff
  16. I am a dealer for PIAA wheels but dont do much with them on the lighting/accessory side. Let me make a call to get pricing and availability for the blade refills you are looking for and Ill shoot ya a PM. Jeff
  17. We do clutches on the turbo 3/S cars almost weekly here -- I have 3 here now getting upgraded clutches among other things. I actually have 10 Twin Turbo 3/S cars here right now total (2 were shipped up from Florida and NC coincidentally) so there is nobody in the state that knows the cars better. Hell, there is nobody in the Midwest that knows the cars better. That being said, Ryan did quite a few while he was here so he is fully capable -- he just hates them Brian, I have been keeping an eye out for ya on the forums but this looks like a very good deal. I also have many many 3/S customers in Florida if you need any help trying find out some history on the car or getting it taken for a test drive. Also, if you just need some good advice on what clutch to go with and great pricing just let me know! Jeff
  18. I had the car taken to True2Form that night. I wrote the estimate the following day, took the pictures, called the insurance company to let them know where it was at, and met with the appraiser that came out to inspect it. When he was finished his note-taking and reviewed my estimate he completely agreed with me that it was totaled. His official cause of the claim was "Lost control and struck a pole". End of story. I guess that just *might* qualify me to collaborate Bretts "Story" I still remember turning the corner just as his headlights were bouncing around thru all the weeds/trees/bushes. I was there literally 3 seconds after the car came to a stop. I actually think I even beat Hua there lol. Damn that was a long time ago... Jeff
  19. Again, on the 6-spd cars they are very durable. A stock 6spd / transfer case car has run 9s at 147mph. That car made 10+ passes before they swapped it out for an AWD Auto. The early 5-spd cars now have both a Billet aluminum and Stainless Steel Case out that no one in the country has broken yet. They are no longer an issue regardless of what year you get. In the "Bolt-on" level the T-case would never be an issue unless you were doing 7k clutch dumps at every single light you came to for a solid year. Drive any car dumb enough and you can get anyhting to break... Jeff
  20. The 6-Spd Getrags are actually very stout. Under $1000 in mods and you are running 12s. This one has a few miles but not a bad deal imo: http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=354898&page=1&pp=10
  21. Yeah, it hurts to see it like that. I remember how good that car looked after all the paint / body work was done way back when. I even had all kinds of pics saved after it was buffed up and ready to go. Its hard to believe that is the same car.. Jeff
  22. I can find you a very clean / good mileage VR4 pretty easily. More than likely it wont be local (they are very hard to find typically) but if you shoot me a PM with what she likes in terms of body style (1st gen or the 94+ style) and what kind of price range you would like to stay under Ill throw some options your way. Jeff
  23. And people say the Unicorn never raced -- she was out running bikes from digs!! lol. Bad night. Sat in the emergency room / hospital until 4am. Sucks too cuz I would have won Jeff
  24. You know what, I take that back, you didnt actually beat me that race like I said you did. You had made up 18 of the 20 cars you spotted me in the first 2 seconds and then you popped and IC pipe off before you passed me. I did win! LOL. I was there the night Jaron wussed out. Did a nice long burn-out and just kept right on driving lol. It was funny and sad all at the same time. Jeff
  25. The laser is long gone but the MR2 is in the garage as we speak Jeff
