  1. Are there any interim water cooling solutions that I could mostly transfer over to a new setup later (by changing nothing but the heat sink). That might be a reasonable solution for now.
  2. The wallpaper in my rental house had 4 layers in parts of the kitchen. 4 fuking layers. I've used the spray. I've used the score thing pictured. A couple putty knives, some water, and work is what has worked best for me. And I pulled a LOT of wallpaper out of my rental. I hate wallpaper, with a passion.
  3. State must have really changed their tax structure this year. We got a TON of money back from Federal, yet owe several hundred to state. First year of filing married.
  4. I have the cash to buy whatever the hell I want; but that cash is ear marked for buying another HOUSE. That is why money is tight; I can't be spending money on BS when I should be using it for house stuff. Sorry you can't manage your money. Otherwise, the Q6600 has been a consideration, but seems to be getting outdated. Any news on price breaks for i7 stuff (the boards tend to be pricey for anything decent). It sucks that my PC takes forever to encode Blu-Ray, but I "can" wait. And yes, all of my stuff is SATA, and have a good 600W power supply.

    BEWARE!

Could be a ploy to get people to do Windows update, so you get the latest WGA installed and it disables your pirated copy of Windows (or the many unpirated copies out there that still get disabled every time they do this). Maybe one day enough people will buy Apples to make it worthwhile to write a decent worm/virus/malware for it.
  6. Now that I have a Blu Ray burner, and am re-encoding discs to single layer BD size...processer power is a factor. A BIG factor. I am not a PC gamer, so that's not a concern. My current rig - Asus A8N SLI Deluxe motherboard; can run in SLI but I don't, Socket 939 - Two matching XFX 7600GT XXX edition video cards; running two monitors each via DVI - 4GB Ram, max for the board. PC3200 (sad, I know) - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, pretty much not overclocked @ 2.45 GHz per core. I can safely go to 2.7GHz on stock cooling, but was having issues that ended up being a previous OS problem, and haven't went back to overclocking it yet. - Two DVD burners - One 8x Blu-Ray burner - 5 hard drives; one 500GB 7200RPM, 4 160GB 7200RPM. The 160GB drives are in a RAID-0. Media reader and some other BS too. The problem is that encoding Blu-Ray is S-L-O-W. DVD isn't a problem, but we are talking 7-8GB vs 40-45GB I could invest in a water cooling solution, and I've heard of this processor going 3.2 to 3.4GHz on water. I still doubt I will get what I want with that solution; I think quad core is my answer. I am in the house-buying process, so money is TIGHT. Really tight. I am sure I will live with this for a bit, but I want to have my eyes open for a great deal. i7 stuff is still too pricey, but I don't want to go overly outdated. Or maybe just find a cheap water cooling solution as a stop-gap?
  7. Get the Park Pass...I think they care about that a lot more than the BMV sticker. I've rode there with just the Park Pass.
  8. This doesn't sound right to me, and I bet you aren't getting the full story. If she can pay the full amount, I am sure the bank would be okay with her making full, on time payments each month, and sending in a little extra monthly to make up her back pay. They want her money, not her house. Her lazy husband is a whole other issue.
  9. I am interested depending on how our house-buying process is going. I can haul 4 quads on my hauler (mine and my wife's would be two, though). Could hold another in the bed of my Avalanche, but that is probably needed for tents/food/gear/gas cans/etc.
  10. I have a 04 Raptor 660R with a few mods. My wife has a 03 Polaris Trailblazer 250. I rarely ride, but will hopefully do more riding this year.
  11. You are not intelligent. This is a fact, not an opinion. FYI: Your keyboard has two "Shift" keys on it. Perhaps you should try using them from time to time.
  12. I'd say put an 03-04 Cobra spoiler on it, but I'd rather only those cars have that spoiler.
  13. I love that color. I don't even want to imagine the cost of those brakes. I am guessing somewhere in the 10-20k range to retrofit those onto something else! The ZR1 is worth every penny.
  14. Call Mercury Kellar on Livingston. The place is in the hood, but the owner/employees aren't like the people that live around there. All the work I have seen them do has been pretty good, and at a fair rate.
  15. I have one in the Formula, and since it isn't together yet, I can hook you up for a bit. That said, the car is at my rental house on the east side, and I live on the west side, so getting it is a bit of a PITA.
  16. WOW does them all the time. Wall fishing costs more than a wall-pop/floor pop. Standard rate is $29.99 trip charge, $19.99 per outlet, $15 per wall fished. I've done more outlets than I would care to admit to. And sometimes a line does have to be run outside, unless you are willing to tear up some drywall.
  17. I disagree. She deserves every penny of it. I keep putting money in, and in, and in, and in...and all they want is more money. Those who pay the most taxes tend to be the ones that see the least benefit from paying those taxes. Flat tax for all; at least that would partly even things out.
  18. Your statement doesn't make any sense. I'm not saying to trade, but that engine looks like a nice fit in that car, and I guarantee that car is a far better runner than it ever was stock.
  19. This fucking sucks. Kenny was a great guy; both in person, and on the board. I always enjoyed his posts; one of the few worth reading usually.
  20. I'll take his Z06 over your A4 without a second thought. And I like the A4, and drive my wife's regularly. The A5 / S5 cars are sweet. They also have a TON of leg room; I'm 6'3" and don't think I'd even put the seat all the way back to drive one. The look awesome, especially the S5. Con is they are PRICEY. For that money, there are a lot of other cars I would be looking at. As for the BMW's...I personally think their interiors are way under-par for the car, and one of the big reasons my wife wasn't interested in a BMW after driving several. I would say a 3-series interior is inferior to other similar-sized cars in its class...from Lexus, Infiniti, Benz, Audi, Caddy, etc....a step about a Saab and Volvo interior I suppose, but a step above in price too. Fit is nice enough, but the overall look is dated.
  21. WTF are you talking about? Stern has had some great interviews and compelling radio recently. I still can't figure out how O&A got renewed. And Bubba is sucking now that 4 of his 5 days are a testicle radio rebroadcast, which I refuse to listen to. I will say Octane has gotten even better since the merger.
  22. I'd be thanking Asurion, not Sprint. Sprint passed the buck and had nothing to do with it.
  23. That's kind of what my wife and I are looking for size and area wise. WTF is with the previous owners spending a bunch of money on Granite counters and not updating the appliances. Drives me nuts when people are asking 300k for their house, and the appliances are some old white crap. We are looking @ some more tomorrow; one is in Powell. If you don't mind, could you PM me any details. We are trying to get as much info/amo as possible when making an offer on a home.
  24. Hell, that thing undamaged is only 20-25k being a 05 w/ 72k on the clock. What a rip off.
