  1. If you can't figure out how to Jailbreak an iPhone, you have no business having a modded phone anyway.
  2. The VXR is obviously an LS3 engine. But the VXR8 Bathurst? LS3 with supercharger slapped on? L92 with Supercharger? LSA with a different blower on it? LS9 with a blower swap? Top Gear needs to be more specific. That said, both will smoke that S4 for a less money and more fun. Too bad they aren't sold here.
  3. That's the Big Block hood (they make aftermarket versions for a number of vehicles - all are ugly). Loose that and the stripes, and you are back to stock (can't tell if those are polished Z06 rims or just painted, as that would have only come with painted wheels).
  4. Ehh, not looking good. Guy hasn't e-mailed me back after I told him what I would agree to, and he pulled his ad on boat trader. Hopefully I find something soon, so far I've not been able to work out deals for 3 others as well: - I was high bidder on a sweet 03 Tige 22V on Ebay, but didn't hit reserve. This was a few weeks ago - I just sent an e-mail to the seller to see if it is still available, as I may offer a bit more. - Was also high on a 04 Centurion Avalanche - again, didn't hit reserve, and this seller must want a lot because I gave a pretty decent bid on that one - Contacted a seller about an 07 Gekko Revo 6.7, then seller wouldn't get back to me to answer some basic questions after he sent me some more pics I requested (shitty cell phone pics). My wife also found something interesting today; I guess all the big banks have stopped lending for boats, motorcycles, etc. and the smaller places want a lot down/great credit/shitty interest rates. I'm also seeing a lot of re-listing on E-bay for sold auctions, so it looks like buyers are having troubles getting financing. This works in my favor, so I may just start throwing some low ball bids out there and see if anyone desperate wants to play. I don't want to travel over 500 miles (yet), so I've passed on a few deals, though this will change in a month or two.
  5. Looks like the bank doesn't do any escrow services and I don't want start paying fees for this anyway. I sent a message to the seller this morning, letting him know I have a proof of funds document signed from the bank I can send him. I also said I would schedule an appointment at a branch he could also verify. At this point if he isn't cool with this I will have to pass. I also will only do the financial transaction at the branch. Have the check drafted on site (more for his peace of mine than mine, as I wouldn't accept a check unless I saw a legit bank draft it), and have the title notarized at the branch as well.
  6. Yes, this. That said, it would have to be through my bank, as I know my bank isn't going to scam me. Money would not be transfered until notarized title and boat were in my possession. This part is not an option, and I will walk away if those requirements can't be met. I was more curious if anyone has ever done something like this through their bank. I'd like to simply do a fund verification, make an appointment with a branch, etc. but I'm not sure if that will be good enough. Not sure what other services banks offer for this kind of transaction.
  7. I have been shopping for a while for a wakeboard boat. I found a VERY good deal on one, on the Ohio/PA border. E-mailed the guy, and I spoke to him on the phone tonight. He is a foreign guy (sounded Asian), so he was a bit hard to communicate with. Basically, the guy owns a business in Seattle, Washington, and is opening another business there. He has to fly back to sell the boat. He said he flew back a week ago, and the buyer was a no-show. He wants to put the funds in an escrow - mentioning AOL Money and Finance. That was a red flag to me, and there is no way in hell I am doing that. I explained I bank with Chase, and I would have my wife (who works there) see what services they have available. He said he was fine with that, and even mentioned doing it Saturday if available, taking it for a water test, and inspecting the boat. We have the cash - I want to make sure the guy knows we have the funds, are very serious about buying, but am not risking my money either...I'll pass on a great deal before chancing my money. Anyway, has anyone else dealt with this type of situation before? What did you do?

  9. They have every right to sue, and IMO they should win the lawsuit based on the info in this article.

    Loans

Sadly, a co-signer can be a must. Back when I was 19/20, I wanted to get a very small loan for a bike. I had just paid off a 3 year loan on my car from that bank in a hair over a year. I was asking less than half of that loan amount for the same length of time. One would assume I should get the loan - no dings on my credit, I proved to that bank to be an excellent payer. Their answer: nope, not without a co-signer. They didn't get my business. Credit is a PITA to build, and one you have it, make sure to protect it. Credit union is probably your best bet. That said, I have several co-workers who are members of Kemba, and they all have consistently said that credit union does not have their shit together. But I guess if you are only getting a loan it may be okay, but I wouldn't bank there!
  11. It's social engineering...and too bad it isn't implimented. Smart, successful, hard working, good people should breed - the world needs more of these people. The problem is the big mass of breeders in this country (and other countries) are the low-life people that can't figure out some simple birth control and suck the system dry of resources, while contributing nothing.
  12. I've towed my 18' car hauler with 3000-5000lbs worth of vehicles on it - 75MPH on the freeway, tows great. If I pull the car too far forward it rides a little weird, but properly centered it tows as well as anything else I've put behind the truck, and you barely notice it back there. Actually, the trailer tows better with a car on it than it does empty.
  13. If you are towing 5k lbs, I am assuming you want to tow a car? - Load levelers will be pointless if you load the car correctly on the trailer - The trailer SHOULD have electric brakes. You need to add an electric brake controller. I run the Tekonsha Prodigy, but they have released the Prodigy P2 now as well - considered one of the best brake controllers out there. Your Avaitor may already have a factory wiring harness to make it easy to wire up the controller - my Avalanche did, making it very simple to install. - Tranny cooler is a 100% must, and don't assume because you have a tow package it will have one (mine didn't). I've been running this one for over 5 years and it works very well. - Not sure what motor is in your SUV. I know the 4.6 in my 06 F150 company truck is a dog...I wouldn't want to tow 5,000lbs with it! I will assume if yours is rated to tow 7k like Vince said, you may have a different motor. - I wouldn't worry about aftermarket brakes, suspension, etc. at this point.
  14. You would be amazed at how wrong you are. They are designed on purpose to not be aerodynamic due to the downforces they want on the front and rear wings. The California has a Cx of .032. F1 car, depending on the track setup, is around .75 to 1.25.
  15. http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2010/05/28/10/09/2009_ferrari_california_roadster-pic-1847875153421549372.jpeg http://www.ferraricaliforniapic.com/ferraricalifornia/car/pictures/2010/08/ferrari-california-24.jpg 460HP. 193MPH top speed. First front engine V8 Ferrari (Ferrai refers to is as a mid-front engine, due to placement of the motor). First dual-clutch 7-speed Ferrari. Also the most Aerodynamic Ferrari ever made. But because the top folds down, it is somehow a girls car.
  16. Your dream is to have a riced out, slow-ass N/A Rotary?
  17. Meaning I'd probably spend $11,000 somewhere else. But I'd pay 13k over 15k regardless, as long as it is the SAME PRODUCT (equal vehicles, mileage, and condition). Why would I spend more at Carmax?
  18. But Chase was one of the least guilty of predatory lending (if you could be considered guilty at all), which is why they ended up on top when the housing crash happened, as they didn't feel nearly the impact the other lenders felt.
  19. No, it is because they don't haggle prices, and their listed prices suck.
  20. Please show ANY documentation stating this was an "Outreach meeting." Not just some broad that organizes these idiots telling you it is.
