  1. Just picked her up tonight. 01 Malibu Sunsetter VLX with the LS1 Corvette option (Malibu does the Corvette boat, and also offers this as an expensive motor options for other models). Pretty much loaded - tower, balast tanks, wedge plate, CD changer with amp/sub/4 speakers, heater (sweet option). All pop up cleats and front light, tower mirror, docking lighting, interior lighting - this guy went very heavy on the option list. Here are some pics of her - she needs cleaned up badly. I also want to get some of the factory Corvette badging on her, as well as some of the Malibu badging, as it was all pulled, but we prefer it badged. Can't want to get her on the water this week and do some wakeboarding! http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/5950/dsc02913it.jpg http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/88/dsc02912u.jpg http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/5384/dsc02898a.jpg http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/231/dsc02897g.jpg http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1553/dsc02902ua.jpg http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/111/dsc02908rt.jpg
  2. Hours? They put hour meters on these things? My Raptor and my wife's Polaris Trailblazer don't have a hour meter. My wife's Polaris has been good for what it is other than the shitty rear brake design. More reliable than my Raptor for sure.
  3. Bike loans - especially used ones - are a lot harder to get than they were a couple years ago. So you have to find a cash buyer or someone willing to run it against their credit card = someone with good credit. Thins the market out some.
  4. How much for each. I have a friend who is interested.
  5. I emailed him with no response. I haven't made an offer on the 01 VLX yet, but probably will offer 20k tonight. The wakeboard boat market is very diffferent from the stern drive market - these are not the first boats for most buyers and sellers. They are also pretty pricey new - that VLX was 51k new. They also tend to have a better resale than other boats. I was the high bidder on an 03 Wakesetter VLX a couple states over this evening - bid 22k but didn't hit reserve. I figured out what dealer was selling it as the auction didn't state it, and contacted them through their website, so I will see if they are willing to play.
  6. Test drove the 01 Malibu this evening. Boat was in good shape in general. Decent cut in one seat that needed repaired and a small slit on one sun pad, but otherwise the interior was mint. Boat needs a thorough detailing, as it looks wiped down and cared for, but not ever detailed. Hull was in great shape, everything functioned nicely. Was equipped with an LS1, and is way more motor than that boat needs (wakeboard boats are the ultimate tow boats, NOT speed boats). We didn't fill the balast tanks or drop the Wedge, but I could tell I would over-rev the motor with the current prop WOT with the three of us on it and a full tank of fuel - that fucker got up and went hard. Ran great, no issues at all. Fairly loaded - dock lights, interior lighting, heater (awesome option), pop up cleats and nav lighting. Only real missing options were it didn't come with a factory tower (good, solid aftermarket tower that looks factory, though), and aftermarket balast. Also didn't have the hot/cold shower, and the stereo was factory base model with the changer option. Nothing but a single wakeboard rack on the tower, so that needs upgraded to speakers/lights/bimini to make me happy. Guy was actually selling it for his boss (who was paying him to do it). He hadn't listed it for sale yet, as he replied to a WTB post I had out. He kept pushing for $22,000, but I won't go higher than 20k. If it had the base 350, I'd only offer 18k-ish, but the LS1 is a great re-sale point and not common. I told him I'd contact him with an offer tonight/tomorrow, but 20k is it. Probably no dice, but we will see.
  7. I've seen Evan's F40 at the shop several times.
  8. Neither car could launch for shit, but here are there speeds in MPH: Koenigsegg: 1/4 @ 130.2MPH, 1-mile @ 193.67 MPH ZR1: 1/4 @ 134.67 MPH, 1-mile @ 199.35 MPH 1/4 trap speeds are probably fairly accurate figuring the spinning @ launch. In the end, the MPH is what is the telling tale in this story, though I'm not sure why the Koenigsegg wasn't faster. I would think that car has to be farily stock seeing the 1/4 mile trap, as that is a few MPH within stock numbers (of course that doesn't mean a whole lot since I'm not sure what a Koenigsegg would truely trap, nor do we know elevation and whether the 1/4 distance is perfectly accurate).
  9. I appreciate the links, as I have been looking heavily. Most of the local market wants way too much for true wakeboard boats (a good 25-40% more than the surrounding states for the same shit). Very few wakeboard boats have LT1's (fairly rare option, but can be found). A few have LSx based motors, but those are either fairly new models, or ones someone really hit the option list heavily for, as they were very expensive options. 90% have fuel injected SBC's.
  10. I pretty much have my heart set on a V drive, both for being a true wakeboard boat and the wrap around seeing we are really wanting.
  11. LOL, that's a scam for sure. That's easily a 40k+ boat. I will send an e-mail to see what kind of scam they are trying to pull. I do luckily have a couple leads on real boats. An 01 Supra in New York that I'm waiting for some more pics from the dealer. And I just had a local guy e-mail me about an 01 Malibu Sunsetter VLX.
  12. Could always do it yourself and save $50.
  13. LS1 firing order: 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 351W: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 Those would not be the same. Different that the SBC and SBF motors as well.
  14. And you didn't because?? I was a little mad at my wedding because the people that drank the most at our open bar (which was a lot, and was very expensive where we were) didn't even put a dollar into the gift money box. But no one did anything bad or criminal at all at mine, and no one would have put up with that shit. That said, I didn't invite anyone who would be like that, so we never worried about that happening.
  15. Miami is about 1200 miles. Say towing @ 10MPG round trip @ $4.00/gallon = $960. You could make the trip uncomfortably in 1 day (17-18 hours) or cake in two. So add $200 tops for hotels there and back. Then whatever you spend fuel for the boat, food, booze, and lodging while you are there. 2k tops total, and that is just blowing cash, and assuming shitty mileage to/from and top dollar gas prices. Looks like a fun trip worth making for sure.
  16. The question is how much faster would you have been behind the wheel of the Ferrari?
  17. Paper bags don't fix fat broads. #2 is a true double bagger.
  18. Nice - I still can't find a boat (well, at least find one where the seller is motivated to actually sell, lol).
  19. LS1 is a GEN-III SBC. The GEN-IV SBC (LS2, LS3, LS7, LS9, LSA, etc) started in 2005. DOHC is another way of doing things, but it is barely any newer than OHV motor technology. Mod motor wise, Ford still hasn't caught up top dog N/A vs top dog N/A or top FI vs top FI. OHV are a lighter, more compact way of doing things. Take a look a DOHC 4.6L mod motor vs a 7L LS7 - that mod motor is a LOT bigger even though the displacement is much smaller. GM is providing easy to work on and mod motors that make a lot of power, with room to grow and getting good fuel economy in the process for the power they make.
  20. They were selling one 20 years ago. B2K Vette.
  21. I hope it is bullshit. GM has been VERY successful with the LSx line of motors, and keep upping the bar with them. They are getting great fuel mileage for a V8 (and far better fuel mileage than competitor performance cars of similar or lesser power output). Now a Twin Turbo LS9 from the factory would be getting it done nicely. What the C7 "should" be: - Slightly lighter than the current C6 - Base C7 should make C6 Z06 power levels, in the same way that the base C6 LS2 made the similar power to the C5 Z06 - ZR1 should be over 700HP for the C7. - Handling should be improved for all GM should not mess with a very successful formula - the best bang for the buck all around sports car sold. They should just raise the bar even higher.
