    Hdmi....?

If your TV looks better on S-video than RGB, you probably have something setup wrong. If your receivor is HDCP compatiable, you can run HDMI from the cable box to the receivor, then an HDMI to DVI cable from the receivor to the TV. If it's not HDCP compatiable, then just run a HDMI to DVI cable to the TV, and an optical cable from the box to the receivor (or a RCA cable from the digital coax jack of the cable box to the digital coax input of the receivor).
  2. Ryan, you are one of the very few exceptions. And I can talk...I feel sexy.
  3. - I tried a different HD as well, no go. Also tried different jumper settings on the hard drive. - You can only plug the IDE cables in one way; there is a notch on them. - Tried the other IDE cable, and tried all with/without them plugged in - Tried different memory module...again, no go. At this point, I'm sending the damn thing back. That processor banging around during shipping had me worried enough about this thing.
  4. Bought another PC online, IBM Thinkcentre M50 8188 - When it came, wouldn't POST at all. Come to find the CPU wasn't even in place; was just flopping around w/ the heat sink stuck to it. Cleaned the old grease off, re-greased, and installed correctly. Posted fine to whatever DOS BS they had on it. - Installed AGP card, another 2GB memory, and swapped in a 120GB HD. - Installing Vista, says that BIOS doesn't recognize HD as a bootable drive. Play with BIOS settings, no go. - Notice there is no jumper on drive (Ultra ATA drive); set it to master; it is on primary IDE slot, not shared. - After I do this, it got stuck on POST. The IBM splash screen comes up (no beeps), and is stuck there. Hitting enter to go to BIOS just makes that prompt go away, but nothing happens. Hitting ESC brings up the POST checks, w/ hitting F1 to get to the BIOS setup, but again, just hangs there. - Tried the CMOS/Boot Block recovery, no go - Tried the boot block recovery w/ re-installing BIOS via floppy. Procedure goes as instructed, but same issue when I try to boot up. - Put everything back to what it came with, no go. Discoed all IDE cables from mother board, and again no go. I'm about to send the damn thing back (and not tell them I touched anything), but is there ANYTHING else for me to try? Setting a hard drive to master should not have done this.
  5. Listen to Ben people. If you were listening to Grego, you were listening to total crap. I've had to suffer a couple times without my Sirius, and I tried to listen to that garbage. The show sucked, plain and simple. He got no ratings (I know someone who sells advertising for the Blitz...Stern leaving put a BIG hit on sales). If for some reason you like O&A (though I think they suck...but not as bad as Grego), get XM. If you like Stern or Bubba the Love Sponge, go Sirius. Listening to testicle radio just sucks. A bunch of talentless idiots, commercials galore, censored everything...how do people do this? $13/month isn't that much money. You'll pay for cable, but not sat. radio? And for any of you who think Stern on testicle radio is the same as Stern on Sirius, you are HIGHLY mistaken.
  6. I've never heard of that lake, but the words shallow will keep me away! I've really been enjoying going to out Muskingum River; was out there on Sunday; not too many boats, as calm as it gets, great conditions for playing on the water.
  7. I buy TONS of electronics on E-bay. Heck, I have another PC and wireless keyboard showing up next week. Want to sell your iPod.
  8. I'll take my Treo 700 with an 8GB card over that any day. I can actually DO stuff with the Treo. And like I'm going to ever waste $600 on a phone + be stuck with AT&T. I'll eventually upgrade, but I was planning on waiting a model or two. It gets expensive when you have to buy 4 car kits and a home kit (that's a minimum $250 investment, plus a lot of wiring)! If by smart you mean buy an MP3 player that won't interface with my head unit, and therefore not serve any purpose at all. I like my head unit, and don't want to part with it. Not many Bluetooth units out there either (mostly just Pioneer and Alpine, and Alpine's Bluetooth sucks). But people: - I said 30GB for a reason. I have 16GB of music right now, and that grows all the time. So a 2-8GB unit is worthless to me - Bluetooth connect using A2DP would work (basically a Bluetooth MP3 player), but you can't control that via the head unit, which is what I want. My original plan was to run one of my phones to the unit via Bluetooth and play off of them, but neither are A2DP players (my LG will only play to A2DP headphones, my Treo won't do it at all). - I really just want to know what CHEAP model of iPod to get, ~30GB. Which units to avoid? How old of a generation is it safe to go? I don't need the latestest/greatest, I need something that meets my needs.
  9. I want an Ipod for reasons probably different than most. For on the go, I can listen to MP3's on my phones, or my USB jump drive that has a built-in player. But I'm tired of carrying a pile of MP3 CD's in my Avalanche, and my two choices are either buy a DVD changer for it and burn MP3's to DVD...or buy this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069910_307492523,00.html And then buy a 30+ gig iPod. But I have no clue what to buy. Here is what I need: - Cheaper the better, used is cool. Money IS a factor, I want CHEAP. - Will stay hidden in my truck, always plugged in, probably never used as a portable. Only time it will come out is to throw new music on it. - Since always plugged in, battery life means nothing. But batteries are also cheap for them aftermarket (I've swapped one in my g/f's iPod), so probably not really a factor. - I don't want flashy, just something my head unit can fully interface with ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069882_291159553,00.html) I've never researched iPods, and figured I'd get a better real-world answer just asking here.
  10. So...ummm, what Rick said.
  11. We made the mistake of thinking we could see the fireworks from Griggs Resevoir. You can't see anything but some light behind the trees. We weren't the only people that thought they could see something from the water. Oh well, 6 of us out there getting drunk on the boat was still fun.
  12. As much as I like going fast, I'm not really into going crazy fast on the water. I wish my boat was a bit quicker/bigger; but I'd rather have something for carrying people around and water sports (tubing, wake boarding, slalom skiing, etc.). I don't have a need to go over 60 on the water. But I'll be the first to admit I drool every time I see a Fountain, Scarab, etc. on the water, even though I'd have much more fun on a wakeboard boat.
  13. Why not just replace the front end with something less fish-like? And the motor with something less rotary-like.......
  14. I have several Oink Invites (3:1 ratio ), but I don't just give them away. Christian, check your PM's, we'll see if we can trade.
  15. "2x512MB Kingston PC3200 DDR- pending sale 1x1GB Geil PC3200 DDR - pending sale 120GB Seagage Baracuda internal IDE drive. . . this one is the 7200 RPM super quiet drive with liquid bearings. - pending sale" No longer pending...thanks.
  16. I already bought a faster PC for less, so no biggie.
  17. No, but I'd take a C6 Z06 over one. But that's because I'd like to go faster with a nicer car for less money that also costs less to mod. I do like Vipers, but the UPS truck sound IS annoying. But I don't get the whole giving up on his car.
  18. So you are pissed because an AFTERMARKET part broke? Not the car's fault. And not a big deal to fix at all. And you think a Viper isn't going to be a PITA??!! At least the GEN-III motors don't sound quite as much like a UPS truck.
  19. You made the wrong choice.
  20. MOST of the women.....of course, they would probably just be eating the Jello.
  21. - Lame car - Check - Lame user name - Check - Ricer - Check Why not just burn the car to the ground and start over?
  22. "They said their grandson sometimes hung with the wrong crowd but never got into legal trouble. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, he has no arrest record. They said Gadson, who never finished high school, got tired of low-wage jobs and was pursuing his GED. Arrindell, friends said, found himself in a similar situation: no high school diploma and working odd jobs. So he went back to school. He was a man with past troubles, including a 2004 arrest for carrying a concealed weapon, but he was improving his life, they said. He recently bought a car and had a girlfriend." Ummm, then why were they both committing ARMED ROBERY?? That marine is a hero, and did the correct thing.
