  1. I agree, but don't forget to look at boats from people like: http://www.malibuboats.com/ http://www.correctcraft.com/ http://www.tige.com/2007/home.html http://www.mastercraft.com/index.php?znfAction=Front All of those companies offer a laundry list of full inboard boats (not inboard/outboard like mine). And of course you have high HP runabouts from Baja, Four Winns, Sea Ray, and a laundry list of other makers as well to consider. If you are going to dump the coin, I'd give a serious look to some of these other boats as well.
  2. I've heard rumors those supercharged Sea Doo motors have issues with blowing up. That said, I still want one, and this is the one I want: http://www.sea-doo.com/en-US/Products/SportBoat/Sport/Wake230/ Should have plenty of space, a tower that I REALLY want, ballast tanks...yeah, that will get it done. But at that price, it does have some stiff competition to deal with.
  3. I disagree. I wouldn't want that Civic because it is still an econo-box. I like motors that aren't V8's (I respect a number of 10 and 12 cylinders as well ). I have no issue at all with the 3800 either, but I'm sorry, it doesn't sound all that good. Far better than a fart-piped 4-banger, but a far cry from what a turbo LSx sounds like. The car is very impressive. My only points are if the guy can do that with a 3800, what could he do with a better platform?
  4. Ehhh, I think I'd rather have a Dodge SRT-10.
  5. But what does this phone do that a decent PDA phone doesn't do? Thing doesn't even have a keyboard! Don't get your hopes up too high for the AT&T TV stuff...from a little bit of inside stuff I've heard, it's not all it's cracked up to be, and growth will be very slow.
  6. The LS1 powered Malibu boats comes with an open element K&N from the factory (yes, there are LSx and LTx factory boats out there).
  7. It is kind of sad to see the car look like that, and that's the sound that comes out of it (which is NOT wicked, BTW). Very quick and very impressive, though. I just wonder what the guy could do with an LSx under the hood............
  8. Wow, my Treo 700 has almost all of that. No games on it, but there are tons of frees ones out there for it. I can't recall if it is A2DP compatiable (my personal phone is), and I'm not sure if it has voice dial. And no Itunes, but I just throw MP3's on an SD card. So my slightly dated Treo pretty much does everything this iPhone does, and a lot it doesn't do. Nice.
  9. A wet exhaust is nothing special; a closed cooling system is actually considered rare. Pretty much all boats have a wet exhaust system, not just expensive ones. IMO it makes more sense; why not use the lake as your radiator? Sam, I don't agree with the Rick about modding a boat and being reliable like an airplane. If an airplance motor dies, you crash and die with it (at least a lot of the time). Boat motor dies...you sit in the water and wave someone down to tow you in. I've been towed in a number of times (before I got all the bugs worked out of my boat); it's not a big deal. Throw a few bucks to the guy that towed you in, and be on your way. If you want more power, just go to a Jet Ski forum and see what they are doing to those motors.
  10. Anyone who thought Vince really died is an idiot (I don't watch the show anymore, haven't in years). Bubba was talking about this situation a lot today. This could be big trouble for the WWE, and last nights talking good about him was just another way to cover their ass (they basically had a 3 hour tribute to a MURDER). They are trying to make this look like a non-preventable tragedy; who knows what pills the WWE was pushing him (pain, mental, etc.). They are regulated like sports are, it's no wonder there have been a number of suicides/OD's from wrestlers.
  11. All the bars/clubs will be packed, and stay packed till 2. Getting out of there is a nightmear for the first 2 hours afterwords. I wouldn't consider trying to go down there until at least midnight. I'm skipping downtown this year and watching the fireworks on my boat on Griggs.
  12. Well, that was different! Still, it's a ricey looking Evo with a very non-ricey sound.
  13. My A/C has been running for a while; last months was about $100, I'm guessing this month will be $120-130.
  14. http://columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36890 My 17.9.5" Konig Flights "should" fit, and I'd let you test fit them before you bought them.
  15. Do you have an air cleaner? 2bbl or 4bbl. Stock style with thermo sensor.
  16. Luckily I fixed my washer myself, so no need for them anyway.
  17. Funny, most of the people I see driving S2K's ARE Senior Citizens. A higher percentage than I see driving Vettes.......
  18. You should be finding an apartment or something, not posting on here. I wouldn't even tell them about it, just show up with a moving van and get the f' out of there. Don't even tell them where you are moving.
  19. That's fine and dandy, but did you read the whole thread and look at all the pics. It's basically a Vette with a Civic body bolted on. Did you see all the added bracing in the back? There IS weight back there!
  20. Ahh, people who haven't actually been in the market for one of those TV's. Don't compare your tiny ass 46" TV with a 55". I bought my 57" Sony CRT a few months ago for $550. Was in awesome shape, DVI connection (but who cares, I switch everything through my stereo receivor), and it looks really good. IMO it looks better than my g/f's Sony Wega 50" LCD Projection on HD content, but not quite as good on analog content. Just because you can buy a new 50" for $700-800 doesn't mean you can buy a 55" for that. And there is nothing wrong with CRT's if space isn't an issue (though they are crazy heavy). As far as this TV goes, my two big complaints are: - It's a Phillips. Not a brand I would buy because of two many issues I've seen with them first hand. - Looking at the inputs, it has two component inputs, but no DVI/HDMI. Not to say there is anything wrong with component inputs, but most DVD players won't upconvert through component. That said, don't buy into the component vs. HDMI for video quality (assuming same resolution, such as out of a cable box), as I have seen first hand more than once where the component video looked BETTER. Every TV is different. Comparing to the deal I got (straight E-bay purchase), being 2" smaller, no DVI/HDMI, and a lower brand, if I were offering cash, it would be in the $450 range.
  21. Heavier car + glide + supercharger = not a great idea. Takes the car too much out of its power band. Tommy: auto's break less stuff. Me = not so happy to break stuff. Plus I can sell my 6-speed swap and about break even.
  22. Anthony; Details on: - Price - Offered with a trans-brake - Offered with a full manual valve body If cheap enough, and a bit more research, I "might" consider something like that.
  23. Read the thread, and the guy breaks down how he did. Why not? Same Vette suspension, wheels, tires, and probably similar weight over the rear wheels considering all of the added bracing. IMO it should weight transfer better. But you drive an Elantra, so I don't think he is going to be taking your car advice any time ever. If you think about it, on a stock Vette, there isn't much more between the driver and the torque tube. Plastic center console, and a thin piece of sheet metal. I'm not sure how strong the torque tubes are, though. I think it is a neat idea, though not something I'm really into. I bet he will get a good chunk of money out of it if he ever sells the finished product.
