Not bad at all. I never allowed a fishing pole in the 10 years I owned my last boat (now LJ's boat), and no one is allowed to bring one onto my Malibu either. I don't like fish or fishing.

PM me the next time you plan to go out and surf - I'd love to try it. That looks like an old-school version of wake skating (which I've seen a couple guys on Griggs do well at, but it looks HARD). You are probably wrong. You can only safely wake surf behind a jet boat or inboard (and Jet boats suck at it), and most people with inboards have no desire to go on the chop that is Erie. Possible I guess, but it is a calm-water sport. How do you take off? This is the one thing I've never watched. My guess is one hand on the rope, feet planted on the board, and other hand on the board to stabilize it until you stand up.

I wonder how fast you need to run this new style tube. The old ones were deadly due to height + excessive speed required. Mistake on either the driver or rider = bad spill. If you can do these are safer speeds, it would be a sweet toy to have.

Need suggestions on place to replace garage door ASAP
Nitrousbird replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Dumpster
I ended up using Budget Door, and I met with them this morning. The door is shot. It is cracked through the door (you can see it in the front), and the guy told me this it is one of the cheapest doors made (and I believe him). They will be replacing EVERYTHING except the opener on Monday for $695 and fixing a bunch of BS the previous owner did when he installed the door. New rails, going to the top-mounted spring setup, the works. Sucks I'm blowing $700 but I shouldn't have to deal with it again. Didn't seem like a bad price for all that has to be done to make this right. -
That neighborhood hasn't been "on the up and up" for decades.

I want to get a wakesurf board over the winter (when boards are cheaper), but would be interested in trying it this year if anyone here has a board. I'd love to take someone out on the boat that could give a little instruction on it as I've only observed it from others passing by wake surfing. Boat isn't really set up for it yet - I could fill my front ballast, locker ballast and throw my other locker ballast on the surf side. I will be doing some changes over the winter that should make for a much better surfing setup (bigger locker tanks, Perfect Pass, wakesurf board rack, maybe a ski-locker tank). I would just like to try it out before the end of the year. It looks really fun, and I think I might be able to get my wife into it as she doesn't seem too keen on wakeboarding, or at least not keen on falling on a wakeboard @ speed (where 10-11MPH wake surfing is an easier fall).

It's a semi-true statement. Does the foreclosure itself impact the assessed value? No. Does it bring the market and average price of the other homes selling in the area down? Yes. This is where forclosure impacts the assessed value. So though it doesn't count in the area is appraised, if all the other homes in the area have been selling for less because of the countless foreclosurers, then they are hurting the assessed values.

Franklin County Auditor's page - it is public record. Looks like Delaware county will be doing theirs next month.

You got to fight it. You will be paying over $4000/year in taxes otherwise. Reynoldsburg's tax rate is insane, and you get nothing to show for it. Mismanagement of funds at its finest.

Good, then hopefully mine will be less, as I sure as hell am not putting an insulated door on that house. Any extra money dumped into that place will never be seen in resale. -
Nevermind, they must be updating their site right now, as it kept giving errors, and now has a link to a tentative value. Value went from 117k to $91,200 - a $25,800 loss. Since that's a 22% loss in value does that mean my taxes will go down by 22%? My guess = no. Jones, you need to fight the city on that. There is no chance in hell you could sell your property at its current value, let alone for $12,700 more.

Where are you all seeing this? Just checked the Franklin County Auditor and nothing has changed on my Reynoldsburg property value (and it should). Delaware County Auditor is showing nothing changed on my house either - which I fear will be going up if they do reassess.

I will give them a call tomorrow. If they can repair it, even better. Jason, I appreciate the offer. Unfortunately, I have been super busy with work and know this is going to be a project (more than just a door/rail swap - it is going to need alingment, probably additional bracing, etc as it was never done all that well to begin with). If I lived there I'd tackle it myself for sure, but since it is a 45 minute drive each way I just can't deal with a long project with it right now. -
I need a reasonably priced place to have garage door replaced. The door at my Reynoldsburg property decided to start pulling itself apart. It is an older metal door that I have repaired in the past, but is beyond any sort of reasonable repair. 2-car garage door and the tracks need replaced. Door is chain driven with a spring and pulley on each side to balance the weight. Garage door opener was replaced with a 1/2HP Craftsman a couple years ago along with the springs and I believe I did the pulleys too. Any suggestions on a place for this? I’ve never had any garage door repair done before and could use a fairly quick turnaround time by someone who won't bend me over backwards on price. I need to start making calls tomorrow morning as I really want to get this done by Monday if possible.

I told the dude in the office next to me to loose some weight because he was shaking my damn office. Turns out it wasn't him.

My boat is in my driveway. No HOA FTW.

I also had to pay for all of my cars...and gas, upkeep, insurance, etc. You learn to respect it more when it is yours.

Maybe you need a little math to figure things out: - I'd say your average electronics consumer makes 40kish a year...let's say 50k, which is about $24/hour. - Take taxes away, let's say they are only paying 17%, then we are at $20/hour. - Spend 8 hours finding this deal, and you still saved more money than you would make working. Now take someone making less money, and the rate of return on time invested is even greater. I spend a nice chunk of time finding deals online and save a fortune. I've paid about 1/2 the price of retail overall for the upgrades to my Malibu thus far...the several hours of research is more than offset by the $1000+ in savings.

Nope, but plenty of other Audi issues.

Funny, my brother in law's popped the head gaskets and had all sorts of other problems with around 200k km on the clock.

Still up for grabs. I posted it up on Craigslist with one person slightly interested in purchasing, and several interested in the lease option.

How to: Install Transom Remote (with pictures)
Nitrousbird replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Watersports
For the most part. Also so you can adjust the radio while putting your board on, or reaching over while laying on the sun pad. Wakeboard boats don't exactly blend in. I agree it would have looked great against the black. I liked that location except for the abuse it would take there, from water and wakeboards. I actually like it where it is now; more functional than I thought it would be. Some silicone sealant...just stuff I had laying around. Not the ideal stuff, but it won't get to wet there. It also fits in super tight (2" is the perfect size hole for it). I'll spray it with the hose this week just to see if any water leaks in just to be sure - worst thing that will happen is I'll pull it and use a better sealant.
