WTF - hotest day of the year and no one was on the water!
Nitrousbird replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Watersports
The Wally's on Alum might be on the water, but the boaters on O'Shaughnessy tend to do water sports = in the water. Less idiots out destroying the water = heavy use by the wakeboarders / surfers during the week. I've seen the lot full at 8:30 at night with trailers all the time during the week. Heat = boating weather. It was only 95 yesterday evening anyway. Have you ever been on a boat? It is always cooler on the water than off of it. You can just feel the difference hopping off the boat to get the trailer and that's next to the water. Any time - boat can hold a lot of people. -
Went out to O'Shaughnessy tonight to do some wakeboarding, and there was hardly anyone on the water. We were the only wakeboard boat out there, which never happens. Saw one inboard, but they were north of Home Rd most of the time, I presume to spend some time on the slalom course. We stayed south, and only really dealt with one I/O pulling a kneeboarder. Water was pretty good consistently tonight (other than an unusual amount of debris on the west side). I can't figure out why no one was out there. We got on the water before 7pm, and didn't pull out until dark. Pulled some of my best air to date...nothing that impressive yet, but I'm progressing nicely. Wonder why no one was out...it was uber hot, the water was freaking 91 degrees...great boating weather!

No, it's them saying the people abused it and not Ford's fault.
-
I'll be there next year for Blast - the only reason to go to that shit hole, shallow, choppy ass lake.
-
No it won't run strong - it is worth very little HP over stock. A CC306 cam on a stock heads/intake car properly tuned will be just as streetable, far cheaper, and make MORE power. That Hot Crap setup has been a joke for many, many years.

My assumption is they are branding it a Scion so they can build it to a lower standard without worrying about the image of Toyota when it turns into a POS. Just my guess - otherwise why WOULDN'T you brand it a Toyota, which is severly lacking any car that could even slightly raise your pulse. You would be hard pressed to find a blander brand lineup than the current Toyota car lineup (well, maybe Buick, but that is even debateable).

Rebuilt title = 1/2 the value of the exact same vehicle with a clean title.

Exactly - and what does this subject have to do with Jailbreaking?

I help folks all the time at the ramp, as I am very efficient at getting the boat on/off the trailer. Most of the time people need help is just how to pull the boat on the trailer or how much they need to back it up into the water. But there is a difference between helping a newbie and someone being an asshole at the ramp. The bigger problem is inconsiderate assholes at the ramp. To name a few things: - Parking in front of the ramp to clean/tie down your boat as mentioned above - Instead of dropping off the driver and backing away, just docking the boat in the way so others can't use the ramp spot. - On double-width ramps, going in the middle so others can't use the other side - Crossing right in front of someone driving up to their trailer, so they have to wait for your dumb ass to pass. The last three I see more frequently than I shoud, and see EVERY FREAKING TIME I GO TO Alum or Buckeye (luckily I only go to Buckeye for Blast, and Alum only every once in a while on a weekday evening). The worst boaters, by far, go to those two places. Most people don't get pissed at newbies that are trying - they get pissed at inconsiderate assholes at the ramp, and there are a LOT of them.

No, more danger and worthless water for me. When doing anything except tubing, you want flat / calm water, and the only wake you want is the one from your boat.
-
Well, the morons at the "bigger" lakes like Alum, Buckeye, etc sure as shit don't care. But the smaller ones where everyone is there to board, ski, surf, skate, or kneeboard should care. There were a couple real fucktards at O'Shaughnessy this weekend. One idiot in a sterndrive thought it would be great to drive right behind us while I was wakeboarding. We were fairly close to shore and they could have easily went around us. Literally driving in our wake. Another guy in a direct drive Mastercraft checked on us when we were filling the balast tanks (figured out what we were doing when he pulled up), but it couldn't have been 10 minutes later he did a power turn like 25' from our boat when I was picking up a rider in the water. At the ramp, some white trash in their minivan pulling a Bayliner pulled out of the far ramp about 20', then parked to "clean" their boat (by clean, taking 5 mintutes to strap it down somehow, and have his white trash wife walk around like an idiot). It didn't slow me down, as I would have said something, but it did for people behind me. Saw a bunch of other power turners as well. Good thing they don't allow lake lice where I boat 95% of the time.

You must not have been to Reynoldsburg the past few years. I think the elderly folks are dying off.....
-
Overtons has a great return policy, but a lot of their stuff is overpriced.
-
Friendly reminder - too many tards have been out roughing up the water this weekend. http://wakeworld.com/news/feature/friends-dont-let-friends-powerturn.html

I would still get it notarized regardless. It seems these folks at the BMV all have different "rules" so just because the person you called says one thing, the person at the counter may say something totally different.

You could easily build a stroker for 3k, but not much of a point without doing a lot to the top end. I wouldn't dare run a blower/turbo on a stock bottom end. LT1 T56 is a lot stronger than the LS1 T56, so I'd leave that stock. Clutch will be a needed item on any significant power increase. Suspension I would personally leave later, unless you want to improve the handling of the car. Tires would be a far better investment. Bolt on's, long tubes + full exhaust is good, throttle body is a waste of money without heads/cam, roller rockers are also a waste without the other modes, ignition is a waste, tune isn't going to do much without the other mods as well.
-
Keep waiting. I'd rather be out on our boat - which is exactly what I have been doing. Just sits in the garage waiting. And what toys would that be? You had ignition issues with yours, but plenty of LT1 owners don't, except perhaps needing an Opti swap. Besides, C4 has a totally different tranny and rear end, different accessories on the motor, and slight differences in the motor as well. EASILY the worst idea in this thread. This is the fast way to spend a bunch of money and make very little extra power. The cam sucks, the unported LT4 castings don't flow much better than an LT1 casting. Waste of time/money. Sorry if you can't do your job and need called out on it.
-
Still have it.
-
LOL, it's not that hard to make an LT1 fast either folks. Remember, many of the parts are a lot cheaper. LS1 owners do get a bit pussy hurt when they get the floor mopped with them with a lowly LT1. Is the LS1 a better platform? Yes. But that doesn't mean the LT1 isn't a very capable platform as well. The fact many of the parts can interchange with a GEN-1 SBC means you can buy rotating assemblies FAR cheaper than an LS1. Same goes for some of the top end parts as well. I mean, why mod your lowly LS1 when you could swap in a much better LS7, LS9, or LSA platform? Let me guess - cost.

I'd say a used supercharger setup, but honestly you tear out the stock clutch for sure, and likely damage the stock bottom end. Depends on what you plan to do with the car. IMO, do a clutch and rear end, then the drivetrain will be well up to the task of future plans. If not that, why not a ported set of AFR 195's, LT4 or Edelebrock LT4 intake, and custom ground cam, 58mm TB, and clutch.
-
LOL, of course it didn't break up a few months ago on the TV's with DTA's - IT WAS ANALOG. You will only pay for a service call if it is your fault. Even then, you can sign up for the service protection plan during the service call ($2.99/month, min 6 months), and you are then covered even if you are the cause of the digital breakup.
-
The second they sit in it they will realize it is NOT the real thing. Ignoring the wheels/wheel gap, there are a number of other things that just don't look quite right on it. I'd still take that over a stock 2002 Cougar.
-
First off, WOW uses in house techs for almost all service calls. And you want to punch someone for something that I bet is either an issue you caused or damage from rodents. Classy.

How about a flat tax instead? You know, something FAIR.
