It would probably be easier to find a career as an aviation technician. If it's your dream to work on race cars, then there are opportunities out there. You just have to have the skills and tenacity to find them. The best thing I did at UNOH was create a network that I used to land a decent job after graduating. Very few people from there will actually go on to work at high level race teams. I think I only know 4-5.
I just started last year too. Had a blast everytime I went. Although I mostly got my ass kicked and was super sore afterwards. Kinda sucks that I probably won't get to do it again this winter.
I think she didn't do very well. Answered very few actual questions and she would just change the subject. Her inexperience showed and it looked like everything she said was rehersed or memorized. Which is why she couldn't answer the questions.

I wish I could go back to school for another degree in ME, but right now it's not possible with my work load. I'm kind of in a weird position as I'm doing engineering type projects. Spring design is such a small niche that unless you work for a spring company you're not likely to encounter much of it. I was lucky enough to have a mentor as my last boss and we spent a lot of time going over theory and all aspects of spring design. Hopefully sooner than later I get the opportunity to go back.
