  1. THere's a huge demand for qualified technicians and you can make a lot of money if your good.
  2. I was talking about the whole industry mainly.
  3. UNOH's new HI-PO building is amazing. Better then anything Wyotech, UTI, or Nashville has. Our new dyno building is on SuperFLow and they say it's one of the best dyno facilities in the country. But if your looking for just an automotive degree any of the well known schools will be fine.
  4. damn. Stories like this are why I transferred out of Devry. Good luck Tommy.
  5. The R154 will take upwards of 600+ whp if you treat it right... aka not power shifting. The 1st gear thrust washer is really the only weak point. I'd be more concerned with finding a suitable clutch.
  6. holy fuck I'm way out of the loop. You look like your brother now. Congrats on losing the weight.
  7. No Jezza, Hamster, and Captain Slow, no care.
  8. Baers are nice. I interned for them at SEMA.
  9. Yeah if you need to stay local I'd check out CSCC.
  10. THe new Civic SI is a great car. There was a lot of excitement about it at SEMA.
  11. He's just stirring the pot. Like what many of you do on here.
  12. It seems like most people who have played bond don't like the role. Pierce hated the cheesy one liners he had to say.
  13. that's what I thought it was going to be.
  14. Here are the rumored specs modified magazine are saying The Specs Of The New GT-R -VQ-Based 3.7L 24 Valve V6 -Twin Garrett Turbochargers -Front Mount Intercooler -7-Speed Sequential Gearbox -19 Forged Wheels -ATTESA All Wheel Drive -Aluminum & Carbon Fiber Components -Low Drag with Increased Downforce -186 mph Top Speed (est) -450hp It will be badged an infiniti. Also 85k is the figure being thrown around which is most likely correct becase the new toyota supercar is supposed to be 80-100k.
  15. Nissan finally released pics of what the production Skyline GTR will look like. The car was unveiled today at the Tokyo autoshow. http://www.gtrproto.com/
  16. I mic'd then plastigaged. Basically to double check. Plus it only takes 5 mins to do. As far as I can remember there were no significant differences.
  17. I will be there as a SEMA intern I find out the companies I'll be interning with on Mon. I'll be in vegas the 30th to the 4th. PM me your number and maybe we can hook up for lunch or something.
  18. hmmm funny I have a Toyota TSRM right here that says to use plasticgage to measure oil clearances. Yeah Toyota must be "redneck". Clevite must be redneck too since they tell you to plastigage right on there website. Yes you can measure and do the math (Subtracting journal diameter from the bearings ID.) but there is nothing wrong with plastigage. I like to do both. Oh and the irony of that coming from you. One of the biggest hill jacks I know.
  19. I'd help but I'm up at school a lot now. I can offer some advice since I tore down/rebuilt my first motor 5 weeks ago. Once out of the car it's easy. I did one of those new GM 4.2 I6. You'll need a couple measuring tools like a dial bore guage and some plastigage, etc... Just stay organized. Label/mark everything. I'd have to say that's the most important thing.
  20. Never said it was a Z06... I posted it mostly because 22k seems like a great deal on a 6spd C5 with only 30K miles.
  21. Private pilots license is on my to-do list after I graduate from college and get settled into a career.
  22. Looks mint to me http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=189063023&dealer_id=56891285&car_year=1999&search_type=both&make=CHEV&distance=100&model=CORV&address=43017&advanced=&certified=&max_price=28000&bkms=1129266876039&min_price=15000&first_record=26&end_year=2004&start_year=1997&isp=y&pager.offset=25&lang=en&cardist=16
