  1. La casita on bethel near go down is really good. There is also a taco place on godown north of bethel that is also very good but I can't remember the name right now... Las or Los something.
  2. We will call each other what we wish. P.S. Me and my "partner" need to come see you. :fa:
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qid_WGBrQjA
  4. This person who posted this is likely about 1/3 as smart as him. I need to see if I can find this online somewhere.
  5. I didn't even know you could get it in Ohio. My partner loves that shit since she grew up in Texas. She always has friends who travel down south bring here some back. Her brother lives in Nashville and I know they have it there. It's ok. With it being based in Texas I think there is only so far North that you can get it. But Jeni's > All
  6. Specifically Smirnoff Ice, which is at least half of why it's so dumb. :dumb: It's also usually 'epic' if you do it at the most idiotic moment that really 'burns' the icey. Like waking someone up with one, or while someone is going for a garter belt. Brilliant way to get guys (who need to do shit like this to convince themselves that they are cool) to drink that shit if it was done as a marketing campaign by Smirnoff.
  7. Ah, this is the one I was thinking of earlier in the thread, the new one on the river front. I really want to check this out. As unbiased as possible, how is it? Is the construction finished yet?
  8. Didn't drink a ton, but some good beers and a good cigar. Then went across the street and go some Popeys! All in all a good night.
  9. Funny, your exact idea is what the gang of 6 came to congress with and what Obama AND Boehner backed and it was rejected by the republicans. :fuuuu: It would have covered the 4T that 'everyone' wanted too and actually lowered our actual deficit over 10 years.
  10. The only problem I have with this is that effectively taxes poor people a larger percentage of their income since they have to spend more of their income (as opposed to people like us who can save some or a decent chunk of their income). That would just make the poor poorer, which is bad for everyone (including the rich people). But yes, the current systems is fucked and needs thrown out.
  11. Did you just decided to ignore the rest of what I said? This article is typical fear mongering. The actual quote from Rand Paul says nothing about any specific issue. The part in brackets was interjected by someone else. That's at best being disingenuous to match their agenda, at worst flat out lying and misquoting someone. I prefer to hold my 'news' sources up to a very high level and considering it lying and misquoting. http://paul.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=280 I'll bet you $10 that the super congress NEVER talks about gun rights. I'll bet you another $10 that even if they talk about them, they are NEVER put into any of their recommendations. So, if they talk about it as the super congress EVEN ONCE, but don't act on it, then it's a wash. If they talk and act on it, I owe you $20. If they never talk about or act on it, you owe me $20. This is just like when Obama was voted into office and everyone went bananas over something about ammo. AFAIK nothing happened except for the fear mongering driving the price of ammo up. :lolguy:
  12. I'm glad someone else caught this.... my understanding is that our deficit will continue to go up (hence needing to talk about the debt ceiling again next year), but then go down with a net effect of current plans being a larger deficit in 10 years. :dumb: At least that should mean after a few years from now we should be running a surplus on our yearly budget. Really you can't expect to flick a switch and just turn whole programs off overnight. That would also be a bad idea. In reality we should have taken care of this problem before it was forced on us to take care of it. But that didn't happen so this is what can be done to realistically deal with the current situation. I always like to analogy personal finance decisions. You have a bunch of debt and need to pay it off... you cut back a little here and there, but that usually won't make a big dent. A few years down the road you can pay off your car and start putting that towards debt. Still should have done more... the 4T cut with reduced spending AND increased revenue that most people (including the financial markets) wanted.
  13. Meh, sierra nevada is decent when you at a place with a limited beer selection. What real IPA were you drinking last night? My concoction for a good time; (good) beer in 1 hand and larger highball double rum and coke in the other. Take alternating swills from each hand.
  14. Last time I went there and had the bison short back ribs it was a weekday dinner special, and yes, they are delicious. Are they still just a special or regular menu item? One of the few chain restaurants that I really like. Still...mostly a burger joint (even if it's nice and they have good food) and you originally billed it as such when he specifically asked for no burger places. It's a lot of fun to go to Ted's, then a movie down in the arena district.
  15. :fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu:
  16. BRB, going to route my car's exhaust into the window and taking a nap.
  17. I think our (my) confusion is in between % of Income/GDP and % of the federal budget. Did you go to the wiki link? Ya, I know, Wikipedia.... but several other sources have the same numbers. Speaking to what that graph says about 'social programs' spent % of GDP; I don't know how it can be that high since the US GDP was 15T (2009) and the TOTAL federal budget was 3.5T. That's 23%. I'm sure you can figure that no single part of the federal budget is 70% of the federal budget (.16/.23). You can ignore the 1st link since it's clearly very biased Link
  18. Drinking microbrew from Michigan out of a growler. Friends went home with their tired baby, g/f went to bed. Drinking alone on CR. :fa:
  19. THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE OUR GUNS! DERK-AH-DERRR! Yeah, the super congress is a dumb idea but this is the last thing you should be worrying about from them.
  20. Everything I've been able to find (which doesn't seem obviously biased) pegs defense spending at ~20% and one of the single largest chunks of our federal budget. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_budget
