  1. Hal, if you are still considering Charleston let me know and I can forward you the info of where we stayed. A couple's house that had a mother in law suite in the back. They are coffee roasters for their day jobs (own their own business) and left us a pound of coffee to use (in a nicer coffee maker than I'd ever buy) and a bottle of wine. It was a block or so walk walk from one of the main restaurant/bar districts and 4 or 5 blocks to the market area for something like $150/night. They only crux is they usually did a 3 night minimum but they weren't booked the 2 days we wanted and let us do 2 nights. That's where we will stay again if we ever go again, which I'm sure we will someday. :fuckyeah:
  2. Bay City was nice and is just a little further away than that if you want to get to the Coast. I'll second Indy for a fun weekend. St. Louis was also pretty cool. We just went to Niagara. Did the tourist shit for 2 days, then went to Niagara on the Lake for 2 days. Rented a tandem bike and went to 10 wineries, that was a blast! You can even go spend some time in Toronto if you want some of the big city feel on that trip. We probably would have done that if we had a few more days. Bay City Michigan was fun, but that was probably mostly because we accidentally went there on the county fair weekend and they had a cheap car race going on. You could take your own beer into the fair! We are mulling around what to do for a long weekend at the end of July and may do the Michigan winery thing. Something over on Lake Michigan would be nice. The Smokies is in that driving range. You can go drive Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon, do some hiking. Chicago is always an option.

I'm out on wednesday now, sorry Josh. I can do any other weekday evenin this next week. Long term I propose Saturday at 10am. Those who want to go to C&C can hang there for a bit and head up. Those who want to get a bit more sleep can roll out of bed at 9:40 and head up to the trail. But I can't do this or next Saturday. Gape, what weekday works for running for you? I'm also down for a little trail running after mtb as long as I don't max out during the mtb portion.
  4. I never thought about that. That would be an awesome 2 day trip if we were able to camp half way through. :fuckyeah:
  5. Fair enough on all points. I used to BMX mostly dirt but a little street. Didn't ride for a few years then got into mountain biking. It's a blast, you would try it sometime!
  6. Not sure what point or counter point you were trying to make here? Why do you think I keep replying to him in all caps? You were unclear in who you were talking about and the implication was that it was about everyone in this thread. That was the only point I was trying to counter. If that wasnt your intent and you were only talking about low balls then its a moot point.
  7. Me Howard and maybe Ben are planning to go sometime this summer, hopefully soon. Im going to try to goad Eric into coming too. Anyone else who wants to come who's not a douche nozzle is welcome to come too! Get some gear and come out with us BRUH.
  8. Johnny, this made world wide news, definitely not staged. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sa=X&ei=9jj7TY3sJoa4tweF8sS8Dg&ved=0CCMQvwUoAQ&q=jefferson+memorial+dancing&spell=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=9cad15177ed5008a&biw=1280&bih=713

    Come on out! :fuckyeah:
  10. You guys are all missing the back story... Whether you agree with them or not, they were trying to make a point, not just there trying to stir shit up. afaik ALL charges were dropped against all that were arrested. So, can anyone here tell me what they were doing wrong? Whomever would bring charges in that situation clearly didn't think they broke any laws or they would have pushed the issue. You shouldn't 'resist' arrest if you are being falsely arrested? Or not even arrested, just being told to leave because the cops don't like what you are doing and you aren't listening to them.
  11. Lots of mountain bikers do backpacking too (this one included). Muc respekt for youz militarz servicez! http://reporter.blogs.com/.a/6a00d83451d69069e201156f409c5b970c-320wi TRIPLE POST BITCHES.
  12. THAT'S FAST BRUH, COME GET SOME! inb4excusesaboutthatwasonmygearedbikebeforemykneesurgery
  13. Ok Mr.Fitness, come out and try it once and see how you are feeling about it then. I bet you have fun and it's harder than you think. While I don't get going to the gym I don't knock people for going there to get in shape, or whatever form they chose... besides maybe speed walking in shape ups. Whatever floats your boat dude. BTW, all of the 'badassery' in here is clearly jesting... except for maybe low balls, not sure if serious? http://mserv.nxtm.tv/p/myshapeups_com/skx/gallery/img-joe-share-your-story.png
  14. You're supposed to ride it with a seat, not just the post! :dumb:

I could do Wednesday around 6 (work until 5)... I think I can do any evening around 6 but Wednesday does work.
  16. I had an older SL2 through most of college. Loved that car for what it was and it was (mostly) dead reliable enough though I beat the piss out of it. You can also run into things without much damaged to the car due to the plastic body panels, another reason they are great for a young driver. :gabe:
  17. That's an UGLY yellow on that car.
  18. I can't imagine it being worth that much, but whatever floats your boat. I have no expierence with them. If you decide to get one, they carry them at Strader's, at least at the one at Riverside and Hayden. It's the only place I've noticed them. On the rare occasion I feel the need and have the time to cook something over real heat I make a fire.

I have NO problem with going any speed from 100% of my ability/fitness level (which really isn't that fast) on down. It's nice to go out and hammer until failure sometimes, and it's also really nice to go out and just have a nice ride. I also quite enjoy showing new riders the trails. Group rides are all about going out and having a good time.

I promise not to bring the hammer down on anyone either... but that's due to my abilities, not by my own choice. :fa:
  21. If you just got it and sold it with the ability to sit on it for longer than zach can you would make money. Likely more than you would from your bike and it would probably sell easier. It sucks he's in that position but it is what it is.
  22. Well, in that vein I'm more worried about one of them hitting me or my car with their car trying to chase someone down at 100mph for going 11mph over the speed limit. :dumb:
