  1. Sorry, 2 more items. In case it wasn't obvious, this is a 2.2 L engine The car also has a small coolant leak. It's manageable at this point, but long term needs fixed. The metal 'crossover' coolant pipes are rusting.
  2. Just like the last thread, we got 2 new cars so the old ones have to go! The best thing about this car? I'm the second owner! Why does that matter you ask? Because I personally know the first owner I can guarantee this car wasn't owned by a stripper. That make's this car one of a kind! The good; runs, new battery mid 2012, new tires IIRC last year sometime. The bad, lots of little quirks. Has trouble starting sometimes, will work fine for a week or 2 and then just not start. Haven't been able to track the culprit down and am now not interested in fixing it. Everything seems to come on except for the starter doesn't do anything. If you remove the relay and 'jump' the starter, then replace the relay, it will then start up just fine. HVAC. Fan only blows on high. Pretty sure it's the blower motor resistor. I already have the part and it will come with the car. The A/C was working just ok, but the pulley started rattling like crazy so I just got a non A/C belt. Some rust around the rear. Clear peeling everywhere. See pics below. Only the rust on the passenger side is shown, it's worse than the drivers side. Cruise Control doesn't work. The cable is disconnected at the throttle body. You can reconnect it and it works fine, but it will just come undone again relatively quickly. Oil leaks, about 1/2 quart every 3kmi. Mostly from the oil pan gasket, but a little from the valve cover gasket. I have both parts and the car will come with both, but not installed. Rear breaks need done. Again, I have both rear drums and pads, car will come with them. I had the passenger seat out something heavy in the car. Had to come to a quick stop and it hit the shift lever which moved it forward. The car goes into all gear positions well, but the indicator is off. Additionally it won't go far enough into park to release the key, so it's stuck in the cylinder. I just use another key for the door. Check Engine lamps; EVAP codes. I replaced the gas cap already with no help. Service, ABS and TRAC. Some issue with the ABS/TCS system. They just don't work. A long list but I wanted to be through. Again, the car runs just fine and I drove it back and forth 40 miles each way to work until I got a new car, mostly due to no A/C since it's a must for me. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7486 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7488 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7489 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7487 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7490 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7491 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=872&pictureid=7492
  3. I remember, I think it was the first time I meet Farkas, him going on a short rant about how much he hates rear seats when I asked him about a rear seat delet on a golf he had.
  4. Let me borrow yours and I will do some 'u-turns' in it. :gabe:
  5. That's funny, I was LOLing in my own mind when I was typing that, thinking about a rail/altered style car driving down the street and not making a turn due to turning radius. :lolguy:
  6. If one were so inclined, one could drive a rail car on the street. That doesn't make it a street car.
  7. North Side of Columbus. If you are interested please contact via PM me and we can talk specifics.
  8. Replied A few small selling points that I just remembered. This car has an after market remote start (I think it also has an alarm function), the aftermarket remote also controls the door locks. It has an aftermarket CD player w/aux cable.
  9. 2003 Hyundai Elantra, Auto, 155kmi, $700. OBO We are getting two lease cars through my work this week, so we would like this gone quickly! BAD oil leak but runs perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure it's the front main seal, but I've not dug into it and you are buying as is. We can start the car and drive it onto the street so you can see it runs well, see where and how the oil leaks, but nothing past that because it will run out of oil that quickly. It did run low (down to ~1.5 quart), but still runs fine. I have no interest in fixing this, hopefully it's priced such that someone can buy this, fix it and have a cheap reliable daily. The car currently has winter tires on it with maybe 1 winter of tread left It will also come with all seasons with ~50% life left. Known issues Check engine code for secondary o2 sensor Body molding on front passenger side fell off. After a wreck last year the body shop must have not put this back on correctly and it fell off. Normal dings and scrapes, but reasonable clean inside and out. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=870&pictureid=7480 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=870&pictureid=7483 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=870&pictureid=7482 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=870&pictureid=7481 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=870&pictureid=7484
  10. Do LEDs enough lower energy consumption than CFLs to make them worth it? I've looked up specs a few times and they seem only slightly more efficient at this point, and a lot more expensive. Hopefully that get's flipped by the time we run out of the CFLs we have because I would love to go all LEDs once that happens.
  11. Unicorn shit is worth its weight in hipsters.
  12. I've got a pretty sick 2001 Sunfire you could do an article on. :lolguy:
  13. Worst case, is this something you could rent, from Midwest? Just an idea if you can't find one to borrow.
  14. Unfortunately they didn't have a spec.b wagon here. Also, for the newer body style (03-09?), they only had a manual LGT wagon in 05. I was looking for these, and some other similar cars last summer. They seemed relatively rare due to only 1 year of them being made. I can't 100% remember the prices, but IIRC for $12k you either looking at higher miles (90k~100K+), or you might want to spend a bit more.
  15. I'll call/txt you, and post here once I have plans firmed up.
  16. Saw these on FB earlier... didn't even respond due to too high jealousy levels. :fuuuu: You know what's funny is that in the last few days I've had plans brewing in my head for a trip within the next few months... or could do sooner than that. Would you want to meet somewhere else? I have an itch to visit a new area. In the mean time, we will have to settle for our lowly (maybe) 10" of snow tonight. :dumb:
  17. If we get a decent amount of snow and not ice/rain I'm going tomorrow after work for sure. Or if work is shut down, during the day.
  18. Came here to post The Right Stuff too. They made some odd custom brake lines for me in the past for a great price, and great customer service.
  19. I know this isn't exactly the info you were looking for, but I still like pointing people towards these places because our experience was so good. The only apartments I've lived in that I didn't end up hating the people running it were The Orchard. It's owned/run by the same people who do the places behind the Barn. I'm not sure if all of their people at other places are so fantastic, but these people were awesome to deal with. Keep in mind this was 6 years ago, so maybe get some info from others who have lived there more recently. They also aren't the cheapest places, but this was definitely one of the situations where you get what you pay for.
  20. I can definitely see all of that happening too, and believe you 100%. I guess I don't see it as a problem with the permits, but the process and the people running it. Maybe they go hand in hand? Maybe this is now the optimist in me, but I envision a system that is both fair and equitable, without too much red tape and efficient. Maybe that's not optimistic, but just foolish. :lolguy:
  21. I've seen a few new small business lately that have had late openings due to 'permits'. Either the city is slow and/or they just didn't make a correct plan considering the amount of time it takes to get all of the necessary permits. I'm leaning towards the second because it always seems that even though they are waiting for a permit, they inside of the place is still under construction and there is no way they could open fully. The city permit is an easy scapegoat. One a secondary note, some permits needed (to check the safety of the place) is a GOOD thing. Especially in a place that safety should be a paramount concern, like this. Maybe this is all just the pessimist in me.
