  1. If I go with one of these companies will I get 1 bill from XXX for generation and another from AEP for transmission and distribution? I like to keep my finances as simple as possible so I have to spend as little time as humanly possible with them.
  2. Is that the new spin word for a use/consumption tax to make it sound better, like it's not fucking poor people? Whats fair in taxes is highly based on ones opinion and bias.
  3. It's come a long way in the last few years, go do some research on http://www.avsforum.com/f/ The HTPC section is good for the Ceton product. I imagine the TIVO stuff is in some specific section too (PVR/DVR or HDTV recorders).
  4. Maybe I should clarify. IIRC cable companies must, by some law or regulation, support cable card. So the card decrypts the stream incoming to the 'cable box'. They have to be able to supply you with a cable card, and their systems must work with cable cards. But sometimes they ‘run out’ of cards. The aren’t all that interested in not having 100% control of your cable eco system so they don’t have a ton of cable cards. Yes, cable cards are not two communication compatible, so you cannot receive guide info (from the cable provider), VOD, or natively work with SDV. Guide Info: I would imagine most of the ‘good’ solutions have their own guides built into them. Instead of getting to info direct from your cable provider, they just ‘grab’ the info from elsewhere. VOD: Who gives a shit? SVD: At least TIVO and Ceton support SVD. You just have to check if your provider uses SDV, and that they can supply an SDV adapter.
  5. I don't know if that's a cable card issue, or the HW/SW you put the cable card into. I know it's possible because Ceton's have that capability. http://cetoncorp.com/ IIRC you actually get the SDV box from your cable provider I think, but the HW/SW you are hooking the box up to has to support that capability too. http://cetoncorp.com/products/infinitv-4-pcie/ It's been a little bit since I've dug into this topic so I'm a little rusty. Looks like (newer) Tivo's support it too. http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/307/kw/sdv/r_id/100041
  6. I thought by law/regulations cable providers must support cable cards?
  7. Does the back seat fold down? Just take one or both wheels off and you should be able to fit it in the trunk. Or you you should be able to fit it in the backseat with both wheels off. The are fairly simple to do, but just in case you get stuck anywhere here's a goo guide on how to remove the wheels. http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/tire-and-tube-removal-and-installaton
  8. Did anyone suggesting him to check the lawsuit out even look into what the lawsuit was about? There was an extra charge that suit was claiming was illegal. It was something like $5 or $15 worth, I can't remember the exact amount. Not the cars getting towed in the first place. This would not help his situation out in the least bit. And why did you bump this thread up from 2 months ago. I'm sure if he wanted to update us he would have.
  9. I'm personally not a big fan of Schotch/Whiskey/Burbon, pretty much anything in that family so I wasn't too heart broken handing it over to him. It probably also helped that I bought myself a nice bottle of rum at the same time, so I could drink some of it while he drank his scotch. He had just gotten back from grad school in England and brought a few Cuban's that we smoked that night with our drinks. :fuckyeah: He got pretty fucked up that night, I can say I was feeling pretty good too. I said something about cigars and drinks the next time he came back into town and he declined and only had 1 of the two.
  10. :lolguy: I've had 2 different drinks lately made with Ginger Beer and they were both really good even though I don't like (pickled) ginger. The most recent one was a muel, the other one was a month or two ago so I don't 100% remember but I think it was a take on the muel.
  11. I know, we try not to go there often... it get expensive quickly. :masturboy: Really fun place to just browse and put together a nice dinner out of ideas you get from walking around and seeing what they have. P.S. one of the bottles I ordered from HWM was Johnny Walker Blue... but it was a gift for my brother-in-law. Lol, who do you have buying you $1200 bottles of Scotch, and can you introduce me to them?
  12. I didn't know about this when I was looking for two expensive specific bottles of liquor. I had actually seen 1 of them in a store randomly, but the other 1 I had never seen in a store. I ordered them from Hudson Wine Market. I was very happy with their service and the bottle I could find locally was $50 less through them than in the store locally. Akula, the have what you are looking for, but if kshymkiw83 is right it's the same price. http://www.hudsonwinemarket.com/skuA586130.html
  13. Out of this direct industry, still knows more than I do about it. :lolguy: No need, only interested in the vehicles on the list.
  14. I would say not sure if serious... but I'm pretty sure you are in fact very serious.
  15. I think they take cards now... But not 100% sure. There's an ATM about a half of a block away if not. I would be there if I weren't out of town. Send a text to Steve if you have his number. If you dont have his number let me know and I will get it to you or send him a text.
  16. Thanks! Anyone know the general deal with Mobis... I vaguely remember seeing a stamping and/or doing some research in the past that they were actually called Hyundai/Mobis, and that they were a (tier 1 supplier) child company of Hyundai and they make parts/assemble sub assemblies for Hyundai. I'm also remembering something like their modulators are basically Bosch technology with some extra development from Mobis at one point. Though if that was true in the past they may have used that know-how to make their own by this point. Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Mobis I also dug up some pics from an 06 Hyundai Sonata we did some work with and the modulator says Where the H is the Hyundai symbol I guess that's where I was remembering the connections from. http://wardsauto.com/news-amp-analysis/hyundai-mobis-supply-hyundai-kia-new-braking-system
  17. It's for work. I can't get into the details, but all of these cars have (new/additional) functions that are controlled by the same unit as the ABS (what I'm calling the modulator) that we are interested in.
  18. Thanks for the info! I would imagine with both companies being Korean probably a majority of Kia/Hyundais have Mando modulaotrs. But I would also hope that Kia/Hyundai would diversify their supply chain and have some other suppliers in there. If they are late model they might still help me. I can always look to see when model changes were, if they are still the same model as current chances are good modulators are the same.
  19. No love for your C&C and Chatbox bro? I'm sure you have a few of these fine vehicles in your stable.
  20. If you have a few spare moments, could you look under the hood at the ABS unit, to see which maker it is, i.e. ContiTeves, Bosch, Mando, etc. Here is the list of cars I'm looking for, any of them will help. I only need info for new (2012/2013) cars. BMW – X5, X3, X6, 5 series Nissan – Xterra (Off Road trim level), Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder Toyota – RAV4, Tacoma, Highlander (4WD model), 4 Runner Volvo – XC70 Landrover – Range Rover Sport, LR4, LR2 Jeep – Wrangler, Liberty, Grand Cherokee, Compass, Pathfinder Ford – Explorer (4WD model), Raptor (F150) Hyundai – Tucson, Santa Fe Kia – Sorento Mercedes Benz – GL-Class, M-Class Lexus – GX460 Suzuki – Equator Porsche – Cayeene
  21. Can anyone go check on Thorne? He sent me another PM and I think it's a cry for help. He says bought all of the Twinkies he could find on eBay and says he's going to eat all of them at once. I think he's trying to push himself over the edge and induce a heart attack. The problem with his plan is he paid for overnight shipping and they aren't going to honor it. :lolguy:
  22. Lol, did he PM anyone else being an even more whiny little bitch about you calling him out about being whiny little bitch?
  23. You're bitching about not getting a fucking video game fast enough... I knew there was a reason I can't fucking stand you beyond the fact that you almost killed 2 of my friends.
  24. You're on a LTE phone/network? Those are the numbers I was getting on 4G. I did 3 test outside of my house, 12-32 down/10-12 up. That's faster than my home internet and I still have unlimited (5GB cap IIRC), so the question is do I not use my wifi while I'm at home? I usually only use about 1GB on a normal month outside of the house. I guess we could finally update (buy a new faster) our router to see if that helps with wifi speeds at all.
