If we can we always try to go out at least once for dine originals week and restaurant week Columbus when they come around. We are going to Mezzo tonight. They are always very good deals for very good restaurants in there.

Obama wins. 20 states petition feds to secede.

Good article, I've heard the same sentiments echoed at other non-biased & informative news organizations. I also heard that wall street is pegging the likelihood of situations this way; Grand Bargain - 20%, Falling off of the Fiscal Cliff - 20%, Same Old Shit, kicking the can down the road - %60. :dumb: Ya for more of the same! -
My exact first thought was 'that would be cool to go watch', followed by 'I don't think I want to go up there with the typical NASCAR crowd.' :fa: Mostly I think the crowd is going to be too large, which is good for MO so I'm all for it, but I'd rather not sit in the lines of traffic.

No off chances of hitting a roo, so there's no way it could be as entertaining.

United we stand, divided we fall. I guess you want us to fall. :dumb: -

Misleading thread title is misleading. A few people have signed petitions. The thread title would imply that the states have actually 'filed' the petitions, and that motion actually means something. Less than 0.1% of the population in Texas has signed this petition. This isn't news. -

I know at a larger company I work with they do randomly check driving records, but I'm pretty sure we don't and driving cars is part of our job. Granted the field I work in, you're much less likely to run into this situation but it still happens.
-
Exactly, there is no way this guy should be able to drive a car, ever again. He should vnver own one and anyone found to have given him a car to drive should face tough penalties. If you aide someone who murders a person, you can get punished pretty severely. The same thing should happen here.

What is sad is the reason they have to play the sex/race card; because they've been kind of sexist/racist lately. Considering how anti anyone not white (and religious and male) they've been, they are going to be in BIG trouble if they don't do something about it considering the changing demographics. This is probably the last time anyone is going to be able to competitively run for POTUS focusing on the white male vote. There are murmurs that the republican party could not see the inside of the oval office for a generation if they don't quickly and effectively change their stances on things like immigration or the veiled racism that some used during the primaries. Note: by change I don't mean swing completely the other way, but the hard line rhetoric many have used over the last few years didn't do the party any favors.

Ya, that guy is in trouble with some bad people anyways so he might as well roll on them now! :gabe:

My company won't hire (tobacco) smokers now. Unless it's against the law, for example discrimination by race/sex/creed, a company can have any hiring policies it wants. I don't imagine many companies would change their policies on weed even if it were legalized.

My aunt and uncle were over last night for dinner and he claimed that 1.3T of the budget went to welfare. Must be something in the water... or something someone said on a far right wing radio show is my actual guess. People on FB who just posted political stuff got put on ignore, especially memes since they couldn't come up with and articulate any original ideas. Same for the constantly religious or sports zealots. I like to see interesting things or life happenings of people I know posted on FB, not a constant barge of political, religious or sports blather.

Glad to hear the surgery went well! Be careful on your new ACL and weakened hamstring, regardless of how good you feel it will still take lots of time for them to heal! It might be too late, but if you are still taking pain meds make sure you take stool softeners too.

Have you spent much time around 'track days', NASA or SCCA? If not, I suggest you take the BRZ and do as many HPDE, eventually TT events, and maybe try to get your comp license next year. That will put you in a much better position to understand the in's and out's of open wheel racing. I'm guessing not very many other people in the thread have either with suggesting relatively expensive builds. This guy has some idea of the real cost of racing. Yes, there is a reason you see 10 of the same car, especially at these track days. Not only are they common and easy to get parts for but they are easier to make a competitive car for a given set of class rules. You also don't see very many engine swapped cars and that's probably for a very good reason too. Matt's RX7 is the only car that comes to mind. If $20k is your car build, you better plan on spending a lot more on racing in general. When they say the car is just the cost of entry, they aren't joking. You can have someone wreck into you and it's 100% not your fault, but YOU eat the cost of the car. There is also the cost of entry fees, travel, towing rig, when shit breaks. Someone I know was wrecked into. He and a bunch of friends 'built' a new car from another chassis and swapped parts. IIRC it cost $10k to rebuild a NEON even with no labor cost and many swapped parts. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people scrambling for some mundane part on a car/engines that there were Millions made of only to get it from far away at the last minute. You go with an uncommon car and your expensive and time consuming race weekend is done, as is your points for that event. A fully prepped track race car and street legal are mutually exclusive. Sorry if I'm telling you things you already know if you've spent time around track days, but me thinking you are saying race car and street legal made me think you hadn't. You can probably do time trials and be ok with a semi 'street legal' car, but not full open track wheel-to-wheel competitive racing. Speaking of Matt's (Tinnmans) RX7, that is probably one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get a car, BUY ONE. Matt's is unique as far as the swap too. Though I have no idea if he sold it yet or not. Just an example http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98110 EDIT: Good article to read through. http://www.speedsportlife.com/2009/03/27/avoidable-contact-25-exploring-the-pyramid-of-speed-the-real-costs-and-stories-behind-entry-level-sedan-racing/

How to get ready to protect against Zombies at home!!!
Trouble Maker replied to ChevyMan1972's topic in Pics and Vids
If you were running from 28 days later super fast type of zombies it would take you way too long to get into that thing. It would be sweet to have all of them open with the magnet locks and put a magnet in your finger to unlock it, you would be a like a freaking sorcerer. http://www.iamdann.com/2012/03/21/my-magnet-implant-body-modification -
We need to know what kind of 'track racing' you are talking about until anyone can properly answer your question. Clearly some people are assuming drag racing and some are thinking road racing. I've never heard of anything other than road racing refereed to as 'track racing', but I don't want to assume.
