  1. Yeah, I'm just a young guy...plus I'm in Detroit. I'll probably be in Columbus next for Labor Day. The Hot Rod Solstice built by GM is bad ass. Almost every body panal is carbon fiber, CTS-V Brake Calipers, cammed LS7, T-56 6-Speed, etc. etc.
  2. Well they dump ten of thousands of gallons of water during ignition to help muffle the sound of the engines. The engines burn a lot of it off. Clay, did you make it over there on the 4th to see it?
  3. Trying to impress the ladies... http://homestudy.ihea.com/wildlifeID/mallard.jpg
  4. It's out this fall...should start building them in the next couple of weeks. Thanks.
  5. Yeah, I don't expect it to be a huge problem, but there will be a lot of torque with the longer stroke of the 2.4L. If it fails I could always de-stroke it with a Cobalt SS or Solstice GXP/Redline forged crank. But for now I like the idea of building a torque monster. SinisterX - Thanks for the sig. I like that first one and will be stealing it when I get home from work. Thanks to everyone else for the comments. GM definitely did things right on the exterior design of this car. Driving it actually reminds me of driving Morgan's 93 240SX when it was stock. Except it has no back seat, meatier tires, and gets more attention.
  6. The crank is cast...but I would keep that until it breaks. The rods are forged. But it has over 10:1 compression ratio so I'm leary of boosting 20psi on that.
  7. Thanks. Oh, and since I have a Sky you can't get one. What is your RWD car again??
  8. Immediate plans are the development of a "basic" bolt on turbo kit good for about 300HP on the stock motor. After that the limit will be pushed until I need a forged bottom end. The goal is 400ish HP, which, given the stroke of this engine, should give me around 460 ft-lbs. There's a kit out now that gets ~330HP/380Ft-LBS at the wheels on the stock bottom end. But I don't like a few things about his kit, and I'm not sure how much I want to tempt fate. P.S. Anyone care to make me a new sig identical to my old one, but with this pic: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/mallard1055/SaturnSig2.jpg Maybe I should get a better pic without my shadow in it...

  10. Yeah, I had a streaking problem on my dad's Avalon last week (dark red). I'm thinking of doing my Sky this weekend (black) do you have any tips to avoid streaking?
  11. a) whats the speed rating of a bike tire? b) I will never feel the urge to take a rocket and rest my balls on it.
  12. Well as long as it's not a GXP Solstice (since I know you've commented about Solstice's before) you'll have my blessing. That is, unless you're happy with stock power. Don't mod it.
  13. Damn, what happened? Hope you get better soon. Good luck on the surgery.
  14. HPTuners works on it. Clue us in on your turbo RWD...I just hope it's not what I think it is.
  15. Actually, a lot of taxi companies will be switching over to the 300C LW (Long wheelbase) when their Crown Vic's get replaced. Well, around Detroit it depends what area you're in, but the Detroit PD doesn't have enough money to replace their Econo Vans and Crown Vics. Auburn Hills had had Chargers and Magnums for over a year, if you're near Dearborn you'll only see Ford's, and around Milford you'll most likely see Impala's. Troy is a mix, but I've seen a few undercover Camaro's running highway duty.
  16. I thought GM had already announced the Camaro would make production well before DCX made today's announcement.
  17. They just shut down 315N as I was driving by, and they were getting ready to close 270
  18. Ohhhh, it's a Corolla...I thought it was like your Oldsmobile eight eight.
  19. If you're really good 170-200 BAR, at that point most cars are locking wheels...120-150 is probably closer to "average" for an ABS or near ABS stop.
  20. He's right, I'm buying from a dealer up here. Wait lists everywhere were so damn long.
