hmm thanks for the tips... I am going to jegs anyhow to pick something up so I will let you guys know if they have them. I was planning on using 2 buckets anyhow but I guess a 10.00 grit gaurd is cheap compared to raking rocks into my paint... btw Kevin do you have any tips on wetsanding an area of clearcoat drip? Better left to the pros?

Hell no- best decision she can make in my opinion. The less we have on those 2 wheeled death traps the better.... Sure they are a thrill but at what cost? And I dont care enough to start a debate about sport bikes and "how they accelerate/brake/corner better than any car so they are actually safer".. thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it... Why else would I spend 10x more to go not as fast on 4 wheels? One friend of mine had his mother killed while his father survived with near crippling injuries but a crippled mind from his loss and my other friend had both of her parents on life support for months ($$$$$ bills, loss of jobs/wages, changed their lifestyle completely, and they still have health complications years later) on motorcycles. I actually saw a guy get killed in front of me at the interesection of dublin granville and sawmill road on the way to pick my wife up from the airport at 10PM. I called 911 but he was already dead. Ask anyone in medical school or actually in the medically field who has had ER experience about trauma sustained from those little contraptions. She was lucky- lets hope by ditching them she wont use up her other 8 lives.

Thanks!

Hey all, Anyone know where to get some grit gaurds local? Thanks, Andrew

Hey all, Just wanted to let you know what a quality job AJ did on my new-to-me LS6 in my corvette. He installed a set of fresh LS2 valvesprings in it for me as part of the updated LS6 valvespring kit and he was very careful and precise. It was amazing how fast he tore down the top of the engine and it went without a hitch. I wont reveal the price I paid but suffice it to say I gave him 25% extra I was so pleased. I usually do most of my own mechanical work and this was worth every penny. Hats off AJ! Andrew

Looking forward to meet you Ashley. AJ is alright so you must be at least as tolerable ;-) Seriously, Jennifer and I hope to have the car out at points event #10. Nice choice on the car- AJ told me what you were looking at and thats the decision I would have made as well. Welcome.

haha throw a random nickel in there and tell them you want change because the bank was a penny short- fwiw I believe larry flyn (hustler) did this to pay his fees.
-
they probably thought you were selling more than hotdogs to the drunken frosh... btw as far as I know postage stamps are also acceptable legal tender forms of currency. your roomate is a chick? nice.

There is a reason they are popping up everywhere its a proven platform. You could have had a chance to buy the whole car cheaply... I relatively gave it away for what I had in it. Dunno who doc is but if he has an sl500 props to him- awesome cars.

FC/FD Rx7- plenty around with no engine and a fun platform with a huge transmission tunnel/engine bay... also kits to put 8.8 cobra IRS in. Porsche 928 would be nice as well that engine bay is fricking huge and especially if he got rid of the popups and they are dirt cheap as well for what they are... depreciation is a bitch. Great handling cars. If money were no object I would see about putting it in a latemodel SL500 (big hood but a lot of !@#% stuffed in there already)- those are the best looking lines on a car period and can you say hardtop convertible- they probably are too heavy to handle/brake like the previous cars but damn would it look good- I was going to get one instead of my car but they are not very reliable and not really fast unless you can spring for amg sl55 and even then not that fast- I wasted one with my 5.0 mustang.

I am no doc but most of your issues seem to be respiratory related, your building isn't old is it? Flu is the most commonly misdiagnosed condition in the world... basically if they have no idea wtf is wrong you have the flu. Most of my friends from HS/college are docs and they are just normal people like everyone else trying to get a paycheck and live- Some have developed ego issues but I set them right whenever I can.

hmm is there a call center for a guy with a masters in molecular genetics and a penchant for anything involving metal (welding/automotive/mechanical)???? On topic- are you taking a daily multivitamin? Are the hours such that you are not getting regular sleep or diet? I wonder if they are not changing the filters in your AC and you have a mold issue .... I would check it out! Get familiar with the maintenance crew your life coulde depend on it. life is too short to waste. Check out the steve job commencement address- I love that thing. BTW diana how did you get so much positive rep? Are you really that cool? My sister works at easton at abbot/ross- shes pretty cool and has a sweet car as well y'all should hang out.

hah I drove 4 hours to Louisville KY to try to sell mine... dumb mistake I guess I was naive.
-
thats ironic dude- I offered my badass fox to you in trade back in June in this thread. I am glad you didn't take it though as I finally did sell it to get what I wanted but your car would have been fun as well. Good luck with ebay... I didn't get much out of it but its better now as I think they no longer have the 50.00 listing fee but higher final value fees- autotrader is your friend- its where I got ALL of my serious inquiries from and I had it listed on about 10 (slight exag) online forums. What do you want to buy on saturday? the market blows now for these cars especially modified but the good side is if you do take the gas you will be able to give it back to somebody else to get what you want as its the same for about anything performance right now- that is unless you want an econobox then you are going to get raped. On that cheerful note! Good Luck man!

AJ check out the "la bala" if you are jonesing for a project.... http://www.grabercars.com/

I searched corvetteforum without much help but I can get the part number for the one on the side above the windows which would probably have a gm dealership guy pull it up on the same screen as the one you are looking at if you want... its sitting in my house and is for my car as mine is cracked which is supposedly a common issue on these hardtop cars.. Also I know the windshield and side window trims are different in the z06/FRC than the fastback c5 so it may be a z06 specific part. let me know, Andrew

I will only go to Wirthmans or Delcar... John at Delcar is the man but he doesn't have as much inventory as wirthmans.

ZoomZoom- appreciate your insight.... def need some microfiber towels to get it off quickly. Spankis-Thanks that is good advice and what I was planning on doing if well-water was indeed the problem I thought it was... I dont have a water softener but city water is probably not as hard with minerals as whats coming out of the ground from rain/runoff Tsc17 thanks for the tips! I have always washed and waxed in a circular motion with all sorts of pressure till my arm was sore.... thankfully the acura is bright pearl white so you can barely tell when its clean or dirty but it does have one big rock chip on the hood that I finally got some touch-up paint to try.. Anyone know if you can buy langka products locally?
-
wow that griots filter is steep! mr. clean? one and the same? Thanks for the heads up on optimum no rinse and video- what kind of rag is that furry looking one he applies the op. no rinse with? I like the idea of the two bucket setup as well-- never knew there was so much I didn't know about washing my car!
-
Hey guys- This is probably an obvious no-no but all of the outside spigots of my house are hooked to the well is this a problem for washing a car?.... We have city water but it would involve tying up the kitchen sink and running a hose out the window which the wife would love! In the past I have used those coin op spray setups or my dad's house. Thanks! Andrew

Mine finally sold through autotrader. I put it on here, buckeyestangs, corral, svtperformance.com, ls1tech, racingjunk, craigslist, corvetteforum. I got the most interest from autotrader and ironically the print version of autotrader that comes with the premium listing.

I would say it could be limp mode as to protect itself after the temp gauge skyrocketed but you reset the battery and it is intermittent.... Is it possible/water/coolant etc sprayed onto some electrical box/sensor/etc in close proximity when it A) blew the hose, B) boiled over, or C) potential spillage when you added liquids? does it have a distributor/coil pak etc?
