  1. are these 33 gallon compressors 110 volts/220 volts?
  2. I am very interested in this as well- I took the JVS class but it is mainly focused on arc welding (buzz box) which I cannot stand. a tig/gas focused class would be awesome- also for certification purposes that would be sweet- I have often daydreamed of going to the hobart or lincoln welding schools which we are lucky to have both in ohio but it is a week long, not cheap, and would have to miss a lot of work for a "hobby".
  3. I think mine is pretty serious for a daily...
  4. She probably had a V6 and didn't get the performance axle option with limited slip? My LT1 Formula was fine in the snow (but I did have the goodyear RS-A all season tires that sucked for dry traction).
  5. It all depends on what you are accustomed to- if you typically do flat bench with a bar and go to dumbells you better cut the weight huge or you are going to hurt yourself- if you go from dumbells to bar you will be able to lift more. Not as much balance and secondary muscles involved in the bar. This is why you see some of the more advanced weight lifters lift their legs off of the bench into the air while they are doing flat bench with a bar.
  6. hmm- well that will save me some money! will the 33 gallon 5.5 hp oilless single stage husky let me run 700 ft-lbs with my mac 1/2" impact gun? I don't know the CFM it requires right now but I can barely remove lug nuts with it right now- it probably maxes around 95 ft-lbs with our wimpy little compressor.
  7. dunno if anyone is aware but 93 cars were OBD1, speed density, had a steeper first gear, and arguably faster than all but 96/97 cars which had OBDII complications as far as tuning. Bump.
  8. props to gordon- ingrid gordon just doesn't sound right.
  9. the only thing worth looking at on that page is the nopi girls and only briefly at that.
  10. My family has had great experiences with Guthrie's body shop in Delaware. Sorry to hear about everyone's luck with wives and GTPs :-(
  11. I would love to see the gym manager try to scold him for dropping the weights... lol I think in this case you write the dumbell replacement off as "advertising"- Also- are those half reps or do you risk shoulder injury by going the full range of motion with that much weight? Or is he that big that that is his full range of motion.
  12. anyone see the jet bike- thats hilariously stupid. I dont think Shaq is going to benefit from the economic relief bill and get a tax refund this year-
  13. wow- cool. he/she needs some serious drag radials and I am surprised it doesn't overheat with that much power and a radiator that looks quite small- neat nonetheless.
  14. Hey all, I have heard I need at least 80 gallons, with a 2 stage pump, 5 hp? Overkill? I don't plan on running any painters or anything- I just want to be able to run air tools properly for crank bolts, suspension stuff, and rear-end work. This would be in a residential garage- Could have 240 but only single phase. One mechanic at a time (me) or my dad.
  15. I know- no offense- just not a big fan of our local superstore. I put 5500.00 in parts from Summit in my mustang and only 300 to Jegs.
  16. Thanks for the offer and link 00typeR- I always try to have a worst case plan from experience that S#@%#@% does happen. Sorry to hear about your troubles-- It sounds like it will be the hex type-
  17. hey bud, Definitely change the fuel filter- be careful if it hasn't been changed in a while you may beed a flare wrench to get it off without stripping the nut. I would check for leaks since you just had the tank out and the pump replaced- How are you calculating your mileage? Also- tire pressure is a good call. Has your operating temperature been about the same?
  18. At least on my LT1 car- the computer was on the passenger side right behind the shock tower- two 10mm bolts would pull it out so you could get the numbers off it and run it past a dealer or ls1tech
  19. Does the oil smell like gas? Are you sure it isn't coolant/water? What do the plugs look like/smell?
  20. tell him to get summit to pricematch- I got a set of Ford Racing 3.73s for 145.00 a while ago.
  21. It sounds as if putting it in park (auto) isn't enough to hold the engine--- I don't have a chain wrench and my craftsman strap wrenches (rubber/plastic) are about as good as holding it by hand. My dad has air tools but his compressor leaves a little to be desired.. What chain wrench do you recommend? I had to fab up a tool out of angle iron to hold the damn waterpump pulley on a 2000 blazer to unthread the fan clutch monster nut. How do you hold the engine up if you take loose the motor mount? Thanks for the tips!
  22. This project is for iron stuff but I will def keep that in mind for aluminum- what does the glass do? Are you talking fiberglass or plate glass? Those rubber finger/bristle pads we bought are neat- I didn't know about the white ones- What is a 3M cookie? Thanks for all the good info...
  23. I think that either A) he can't drive (using too much throttle too quickly) or B) he is on ice not snow. RWD high powered cars are bad in the snow but if the tires aren't bald and his limited slip differential is functioning appropriately it shouldn't be THAT bad. But my god if you have that hard of a time getting out of the parking spot what will it be like at the next traffic light- get a rental/beater for those days.
