  1. This works. 11.50's are acceptable. Now how about everyone else?
  2. Dyno day tomorrow won't be the same without him either . Last time out there we sat on the couch and laughed about some of the things going on that day. I think that was the day that you had a fire almost start on the caliper or quarter while doing a massive burnout.
  3. I was impressed with the car. I was thinking a good bit less when I got there. Must have been the "Insta Boost" belt dressing .
  4. First question is do you have a converter setup for spray? If you do, then it won't run quite as well N/A. Since you offered yourself up on this, what does the car run N/A?
  5. I was thinking of the pic of the center section being split in half when I put "issues" down. That didn't look good at all. All of the input I have seen on the bias ply tires on the IRS seems to be that the softer sidewall absorbs more of the hit and transfers less to the other parts that tend to break. I've heard this from the Cobra and Supra owners. I'd assume that it would help with your car as well. Just speculation at this point. Back to the original topic, who out there is running 450-500 wheel and runs at the track? What are you running? Let's hear it.
  6. I didn't quote you on this and if you can read it clearly says that we aren't talking about money races here. I already said that my car hasn't run what it should either. The funny part about it is that I have never had a decent tire under it and have gone 12.0's. I'll make sure to have some good tires come fall track day, since I won't be able to attend the one in two weeks. I'm still waiting on everyone else to come in and say "I don't know my car yet". I know that is going to happen, but that is why this is in the kitchen and not anywhere else. As a side note, I've heard that bias-ply tires are easier on the IRS than drag radials. Might want to look into that, since you had some "issues" with your last one.
  7. Try Thompson. I can't think of the other places that we order from off hand, but I think they have something that might be around your price range. They usually do deals with the humidor and it's loaded with smokes too.
  8. I also have the stock meter with the bracket that it sits on and mounts to the strut tower. I'll most likely be at the dyno day tomorrow as well.
  9. No, not really. Just seems to be the range of the cars running around that I am thinking of. I know there are more of you out there. Let's hear the excuses. Proceed.
  10. I've been watching some of the racing going down at the track lately and wanted to know how many of the 450-500 rwhp cars are actually running what they should. Mine hasn't, but it isn't at 450 wheel . There might be a certain fox body mustang running around that has around the 450 wheel mark and is full weight plus a little extra with the 3550 and little ass blower on it, that runs around 1/2 second quicker than all of the higher horsepower cars that weigh less. I don't need to see anyone in here with more than 500 wheel running off at the mouth. What I want to see is who out there with 450-500 wheel is actually pulling a decent E.T. I guess I'll start by saying that anything slower than say, 11.70's, should just not worry about posting at this point. Let's stir the shit a little and find out who in this range can out E.T. this poor little fox body. This isn't the race for money thread, but just the get the most out of a combo at the track thread. Let the shit talking commence. By the way, this one's for Dyno Brian.
  11. Based on my best trap speed and the weight of my car, it claims 541rwhp. The car made 443. I think that the calculator is broken.
  12. My car hasn't been out the 12's. I guess that means that it is a 12 second car.
  13. Why didn't you run? Where's all the brotherly love anyway?
  14. Tell me about it. Another few miles on mine and I'd like to bring it out on some tires. Too bad I won't be able to hit Thursday's until September. Good job Cory.
  15. Just figured that while everyone was at it, I'd throw that one out there. Can't expect for people not to notice that when the other pieces are from a Cobra. No need to get the panties in a wad.
  16. Mirrors too. Those stupid things go for a chunk.

This man speaks the truth. Practice on the launch.
  18. Sean, I now know why I could never drive a silver car, unless the deal was amazing. It just doesn't do anything for me. The DSG is looking good. Kind of familiar color for some reason . I think we should have a gathering of the Cobras at some point. That would make for a good time.
  19. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from OSU. Had an internship with the Ohio EPA's water quality lab while I was in school. Now I work at Ashland in a product development lab. Fun times.
  20. I know this. I was at the track last Thursday and talked to you for a little bit. It's just a matter of learning the setup like you said. For some reason everyone thinks that you have to side step a clutch at 5K to get a good 60', which is not true at all. Slipping it out at 3500 or so will get you in 1.7x range, if not better. From there, it's just keep it to the floor and make sure it stays relatively straight. It took me a long time to figure out the launch. It's just a matter of actually going to the track and practicing, not just going once or twice a year.
  21. Ok, so heads/cam c5 ZO6 or other vettes with heads/cam. I'm giving a little shit to those who haven't hit the ET's that they should when Garrett has. I know most of the cars and I guess they don't know me on here, but most should still be able to 60' better than they have. If not, let Garrett drive .
  22. No reason to question this. Those guys still make me laugh every time I go in. All of the smart ass comments and the random stuff they give you when you pay.
  23. So, 4 passes in and it made a solid 9 second pass. Nice. Heard it cut a much better 60'. Do you guys have video of the pass?
  24. Traction for the vette and it's an easy 9 sec pass. I have a feeling that they will prep a little better for the Saturday racing.
