Yeah no shit. I know how dictionaries grow over time and words take on new meanings, but to me it will always be a hick's word. The difference between a motor and an engine used to be taught in engineering. I even had to know the difference for a boy scout merit badge back in the day. I guess everyone really does have at least a word that annoys them and yeah I know I suck at spelling and everyone on here should know that by now. Oh hey your right I really hate "rim" probably even more than "motor." That to me is ghetto and/or dumbass. Evan

OMG why is everyone calling engines "motors" now? For some reason this is bothering me and I think it has something to do with images of hicks every time I read that word. Its an internal combustion engine and there is a big difference. Look it up or sound like a dumb ass:-) Not really spelling or grammar, but I feel the pain those ranters have. Evan

Also I have no clue how accurate the factory gauge is, but look up the normal idle oil pressure for that engine. I bet its just a couple pounds. Mainly your looking for a few pounds at idle and even less than 10 lbs at 1,000 rpms along with a steady climb as you increase rpms. If its not doing that then you got really worn out bearings. A brand new engine with a fresh oil change should show good oil pressure, but a used one is fine as long as those conditions present. Even temporarily hooking in a mechanical gauge will get you the info you need. Evan

Actually that movie ^ would be 100 times better than Blair Witch. That was just dumb. Of course I loved all those USA "Up all Night" movies. What ever happened to just watching TV anyway? Evan

Seemingly better or just hotter? Either way the kids mine:-) Evan

Mainstream news is completely worthless anyway. It was bad enough that they fill our living rooms with constant bad news and depress everyone, but now I see them promoting their own network shows and other products when I do watch them (very rare.) One thing thats got politicians and old school businesses scared is the internet and the new age of smart informed people that are growing out of it. Thats on both sides of the political isle. Evan

Yeah the wedding is a waste of money and time. The Honeymoon should be where the money is spent. My wife and I agree on that now:-) Evan

We get a profit sharing bonus this time of year that is based mostly on how long we've worked for the company. Mines a couple hundred. It was nice when we got a "christmass" bonus, but someone told the wrong people about it and we lost it. Sucks to because we didn't really lose it since it was something that was taken out of our regular monthly performance bonuses about 10% and then paid to us in December. It was nice, but oh well. I tooted that horn all through the 1996-2000 period while working in IT. I couldn't believe all the money a bunch of otherwise smart corp managers were throwing at a problem that didn't even exist. People lined up in droves to get their cars, computers, toasters "Y2K compliant." It made me sick. Evan

Its to late for "the hard way." He already became unable to walk for 2 weeks last year. He knows better now:-) Evan

There may not be a catch. Especially if its one of those energy brokers. They buy energy in bulk units (amazing that they can sell units of something like that) and resell to you. Its possible that getting repairs might be a hassle or something because they may just be the "middle man." I know nothing about IGS specifically though. I just have a basic understanding of the energy trading industry. Evan

Nah I did check them out those. I always do because you never know. I've even put them in my watch list for a few weeks before. They are usually just penny stocks that someone is trying do to the old "Pump and dump" with. It doesn't take to many people at 3 cents a share to move the price just enough to let some guy run way with a bunch of money. Evan

I feel stupid that I live in a country where its against the law to pit animals against each other. I even like the idea of betting on fights. Trouble is he knew the laws and did it anyway. He's a star he can't go around doing stupid shit and expect no one to notice so he deserves something, but not that much punishment and fines of that size and penalties by his team's management. Thats just way to much for 1,000,000 dogs lives. Evan

I got a bunch of stock tips over the weekend on my work and personal phones. Evan

IMO its not a huge improvement, but it is an improvement. Kinda like vista. It uses more resources and for what? hehe I'm EvanW in game holler at me. I'm usually on in the evenings and on weekends. all weekend this time. Nothing better to do in the rain. Evan

The value of the dollar is low because we want it low. 99% of the other industrial nations of the world are raising interest rates and having inflation problems (go figure.) We on the other hand are having a problem with not enough inflation at the moment which is why we are lowering interest rates. The FED attempts to keep inflation just above 1.5% per year. Its much easier to have a slight increase year after year then to try to keep it at 0% and risk it going negative sometimes and causing annoying price movements. Another good reason we are moving the dollar lower is the stimulate US exports which has been working in the last 6 months. Yet another reason is China. China has a lot of investment in our treasuries and the FED is moving to reduce that problem. Its working China has in the last few weeks began putting money into EUROs which will be great for us. Oil is also traded in USD's. Notice how gasoline prices never moved up to record highs even though Oil per barrel prices moved to record territory? US exchange rate guys. Thats what kept you from paying $4.50 per gallon so far this fall. Not everything the media tells you is correct. Besides Bush doesn't effect the US economy that much on a month to month basis unless he did something like a tax plan, but the only tax plan he had put our economy in record territory so I'd say he's doing alright. The current FED chairman is democrat and a newb, but he's doing a pretty good job. The thing we investors would like to see is no more breaks for the mortgage people and no more rate cuts. We just want the big correction to take place so we can get back to making investments without the worry of a FED decision on the horizon. Evan

I'll take on that question directly and its a big fat YES. So your not doing as well as you were 9-10 years ago? I for one am 100 time better off than I was then and I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that most everyone (except people in Michigan due to the ongoing "big 3" problems) are doing better as well. If need be I can go into a lot of detailed economics to prove we are, but its basically as simple as looking at the US indexes which are in record territory. As for what Bush did. His tax policies pulled us out of the 1999-2003 recession that clinton masked in the last couple years of his term. We were already heading down that road long before Bush got in office. Look at the charts you will see and learn. Evan

OMG thats just awesome. That is definitely a hunting area of some sort. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a camp. I really can't understand how people miss really unless they are using a 20 ga and totally misjudging the distance in the excitement. Even small shot guns are point and shoot weapons and that sounded like a rifle. Evan

My wifes likely going to be doing work from home type jobs soon. I've been reading in to it on http://www.wahm.com Lots of different types of work from home jobs are out there. This site has so many messages in the forum that I use it as a search tool to find out about the jobs I find and see if anyone else has experience with them. Evan

That is the truth. I'll only add that realizing a goal, hard work towards that goal, and a little luck is all that is needed to get out of what we call poverty in this country. If a person isn't willing to do it then they will never do it. Its just that simple. I really like these discussions. Its great fun talking all these points and hearing different views. Yes even the really ignorant ones as long as no one corrects my spelling:-) Evan

One more major thing. Please explain very simply how I'm suppose to only make what I can spend? You get a cookie if you can make that not sound commi. Evan
-
Again your flawed because your thinking that the rich guy is gonna pull his money at some point and buy something and what he buys is gonna be less valuable than 160 workers buying things. Only a lotto winner blows 8 million dollars. The rich guy blows millions because he can afford to just like you blow hundreds. That same flawed thinking is making you think we should make only what we can spend. You still come to the same problem of who decides how much I can spend? Maybe I want to swim in money. Why can't I if I have the ability to get the money to fill a pool? Your the one taking the snap shot. I'm thinking much bigger picture. I even spelled it out for you "smart money" and your liberal mind can't grasp it. Even if it were in a swiss bank. Its still an account and smart money still invests it. Sure it may not be directly in US stock markets, but if the swiss smart money people are "smart" it would be in a lot of key US businesses and indexes. Once these guys get a hold of your money that you put in your very own checking account we ain't talking 1.4% interest anymore. We're talking 10 to 100% compounded monthly and thats not a joke. Myself I'm up 17% this month because I played the bad media vibes during the holiday about black friday numbers and I'm just "dumb money." Evan
