I don't even have the choke hooked up on my old 350 with a quadra jet carb. I just pump it till I hear fuel squirting into the carb, give it a few more then crank it over. If its below 40 degrees out I usually gotta stop, pump it 3 or 4 more times and then crank it again. Then I just hold the tach at around 1500 for a minute and its ready to go. If your meaning that the choke is manual then maybe theres a knob you need to pull out to start it. I almost hooked one up on my truck, but theres really no point when it starts so easily once you get used to it. Evan

I'm gonna build a nice bumper for my offroad toy and need to get some steel for it. Anyone know of a place that sells new steel? I'm needing a pretty heavy gauge plate around 23x12 and some 2" tubes. This ain't gonna be a pretty bumper its sole purpose is gonna be raming jeeps, trees and being yanked on by 7,000 lb trucks. I'm planning to integrate it into the frame of the truck as heavily as possible. Evan

Those are really good looking plugs. If I had to guess it would be heat. I'd be willing to bet that the front of the engine stays slightly cooler than the back or the side opposite of the radiator inlet. I'd leave them alone. They aren't gonna help your car be faster, but I know how tinkering goes as well so do what you want. If you do replace them keep a few for spares. Evan

You learn alot by being interested and by being on a car forum I'm guessing that your interested. Hang around with the guys that work on junk alot of you'll really learn alot about the fixing cars part. I got to where my junk works pretty good at the moment. I do have Mikes Fierro in my garage that needs a pretty good going over. We got it running pretty good a few nights ago and now it needs the rest worked on. As far as schools I hear alot of good stuff about the local tech schools and universities automotive programs. Evan

If your using media player 9 its a known problem and as far as I know there hasn't been a fix for it yet. I haven't looked in a long time though. Evan

No clue about dying, but I did hear before I left work that he had a heart attack related to the pellets in his blood so I guess he got hit a bit harder than "peppered", but oh well shit happens. Evan

Yeah just replace them. I've never even rebuilt one and I"m about as cheap as they get. Evan

No kidding a 28 gauge would only be good for giving the birds a somewhat fair chance. 12 gauge = one dead lawyer Evan

I over heard the management at the Krogers dairy plant out by newark talking one day about promoting someone. They said that they had a guy they wanted to promote, but he was younger and an older union guy wanted the position. So if they promoted the younger guy they'd have to give the old guy the same title and pay, but he wouldn't have the power of the title in order to comply with there union agreement. Evan

Well for one most car parts I end up buying come from Advance or Marietta Ignition and are usually made by federal mogul or dana or some other american autoparts maker. I almost never buy OEM parts unless its something I can't get from Advance. Then I usually just go to the junk yards. Evan

The job market is great. The economy is great. When the market was tough a few years ago the only thing employers were looking for was the most experienced people for the jobs. Now that things are alot better companies are more willing to train college grads for positions. Evan

I'm not sure about home improvements, but I do know that in ohio you are not supposed to be charged tax for the value of the car you traded in. That amount should have been removed from the taxable amount at the time of the sale. Evan

Your talking about powering a light that was designed for 12volts and around 55 watts with 120volts. Also the 12volts is DC and the 120 is AC so its not really gonna work to well. You might get it to flash one for a second, but I doubt it would run long. A normal computers power supply would be tasked to run a light that powerful so running it for a long amount of time would probably burn out the computer supply. I'm not really sure though since I've never had a need to power a cars light with a wall outlet. I usually just plug a light into the wall that was made for it. I'm kinda curious about what your trying to do. Its kinda unnecessary to use a cars light in a house, but if you really want to you'd need a power converter such as a computers power supply. They are also correct its the yellow(+12) and black(ground) wire on the power supplys harness. I've adapted a computers power supply to drive my telescopes motors and computers from my wall outlet. It works much better than the 12volt battery that it was originally designed to work with. btw I also wired a computers powersupply up to a mark 3 supra's seat at my computer desk so I have a nice place to put my ass while I work at my computer for long hours. I keep thinking I wanna rejoin a martial arts school. I got out of it when I got a job/wife and that sort of thing. Now I'm older and outta shape though. I'd probably just end up with more pain in the mornings. Evan

Not as fun as a truck that you don't mind rolling alot. Evan

Not trying to take anything away from your post about women being difficult to work for, but my wife always seems to get male bosses that have like 20 different people living in the head. Its not just her saying it either because I've been in most of her jobs to fix equipment and its insane. Evan

Quads? Where can you ride quads and can my truck come :grin2:

just use a GPS. Even a cheap one will be acurate to within 1 or 2 MPH. Evan

get is checked out. that is kinda funny, but I do know what you mean. I guess I always plan on a worse case situation when planning to spend money so that if I can't afford the worst case then I usually don't bother and anything better is just a bonus. Evan

Circleville is probably your best chance for something like a diesel truck junk yard. If not you could try some of the junkyards around columbus that deal specifically with heavy trucks. Not sure what part your looking for, but I'd guess that a diesel that size is probably in some commerical trucks. Evan

Well I ended up getting a call from the dealer tonight and they found a truck for me. I didn't have to do jack with the price. it was already way lower than I had anticipated so I didn't bother. Seems almost to easy this time around. Evan
