  1. Very pretty vacation spot. I've been wanting to up that way and look around myself. Some more on aperture and different cameras. A crop sensor DSLR will have a larger DoF (depth of field) area than a Full frame DSLR at the same F number. So a full frame camera might need F/11-13 to get all of a subject in focus where a 1.6 crop could use F/8. Also a Point and Shoot can do even better and get everything in focus at F/4 of that same subject. This is all due to sensor size and lens rear element - sensor plane distance. This also explains why all of us who've switched to dslrs from point and shoots had such a learning curve just to get nice, sharp photos. The point and shoot was way more forgiving. Its also the reason some knuckle heads think the canon full frames can't focus. They simply aren't practiced at using their gear and are blaming the equipment when, to throw in a racing analogy "they forgot to shift". So for vaction type shots and even just serious landscape duty a quality point and shoot with around 10-12mega pixels would be the camera of choice to make very nice 16x20 wall hangers to decorate with.

    Questions

Really? I've not found it that difficult to shoot a shotty off the hip and hit a human sized target. We used to hit cans "Hal calls them cats;-)" with airguns all the time from the hip when we were kids.

    Questions

It was years ago, I don't know the model except it was a 12ga sawoff with a pistol grip. That thing kicked so hard you wouldn't get a second shot if you missed. Myself and one other fired it before it got put away. I'd think a 20ga would be a fun toy and plenty of damage with buck shot. Aiming off the hip would be Prefect inside a house anyway.
  4. The problem with discussing religion (we'll stay within christianity this time) is that the vast majority of so called christians have no clue even though they claim to have read their bibles and don't even understand extremely basic parts there in. I'm not going to go any further in this discussion because to do so would only infuriate believers, and I simply will not get into a debate with non believers because their minds are made up. I will say though that my stance on creation is that a god must have created everything because its just to good for randomness. I am even very well versed in big bang theory and could recite nearly all of it from plank time to about now. Big bang actually works out pretty well, but "evolution" from single celled nothings to humans and entire eco systems is just a little hard to swallow. I always liked the "monkeys and typewriters" analogy.
  5. I'm first guess is the fuel pump as well. Can be intermittent at first then gets progressively worse.
  6. Colors are an easy thing to copy since the only difference would be some processing. Just set your canon saturation and contrast up a bit.
  7. I was surprised a few weeks ago at rickenbacker when they let me go in with my full kit of camera gear.
  8. Oh and at the military installations typically the vehicle gets a full search. At DSCC or JFHQ it depends on the threat level. Right now they are just about strip searching the cars at Rickenbacker
  9. Do any of you who carry daily work in a position were you and your vehicle get searched on the job? How do you handle that? I constantly go in and out of court houses, federal buildings, private companies, etc that at the minimum use metal detectors. I'm gonna say you don't go carrying into the .gov places for sure. I really don't think the guys down at the county court house would like it if I plopped a gun in the little tray they give you for your keys:-) Also another of my possible places to go is the cities military bases such as Rickenbacker, DSCC, Joint Forces Headquarters, etc. I bet I could just leave it with the guards at the Rickenbacker contractor entrance though, their pretty cool. Discuss.
  10. Nah, its more fun to do it Rambo style.
  11. Correct, criminal is criminal anywhere. though even in franklin county a noise violation could be issued.
  12. If they have over two acres of land they can do what they want and the law is on their side unless they do something very extreme. Even inside franklin county, I checked into it before I moved out of westerville because I was the hick neighbor and wanted to be left alone;-)
  13. I was thinking about the same thing. Dude was really hauling.
  14. Really awesome, but couldn't they use a track.

    HDR

There have been times where I shoot an HDR set (just in case) due to tricky lighting, but I almost never end up needing to complete the process. When I do it, I use CS 5 also. My astrophotography uses HDR to get the faint details to show up. I use a third party astrophoto only program to process them into 32Bit Files that are huge (over 500MBs for an image), then I process them in CS 5 and finally convert to an 8Bit JPEG for printing or sharing.
  16. Sounds like middle management to me. Its to bad numbers (which are often fudged) are the only things upper management sees in most cases.
  17. In the carp photo I had to double take to make sure those where inches. The camera angle and lens make it seem smaller than it is. Awesome catch.
  18. As with all editing I use it when I find an image that it will enhance. I will it to any image the client wants it on though. It looks neat in your edit.
  19. dog cornered you and you hid in your car? Wow, I think I'll just stay out of this one;-)
