  1. Actually, in this one case, I can honestly say the interior is OK. There aren't any funny color breaks, and the paint looks well done, and even the seats look functional, supportive, and comfortable. Frankly, the MR2 was a fucking CAVE. All-black interiors give me headaches from the contrast between black dash and bright sunlight.
  2. Don't know about Ohio in general, but in Columbus, it is illegal to ride on sidewalks. But I never let that stop me, it's a recklessly stupid law.
  3. Here we go again. Obama's agenda for healthcare may not be ideal, but I believe it is far better than McCain's rather random non-committal maunderings. Obama wants to WITHDRAW from Iraq, and I believe at this point that is the only course left to us. McCain wants to continue Bush's policies, which have failed. Yes, violence is down since the surge, but we cannot create a stable government in Iraq. Better to withdraw now and let the inevitable civil war play out. Iraq may have been hostile under Saddam, but at least it was stable, and able to keep Iran at bay on its own. We are looking at an indefinite draw on our military resources that could be better used elsewhere. Obama wants to do away with the Bush taxcuts. Those taxcuts are a major factor in the growing deficit. Introducing major cuts in taxes at a time when we were prosecuting an expensive war was irresponsible and inexcusable. And yet McCain wants to make them permanent, while we are STILL hemorhaging money into Iraq. Beyond that, neither side has made their views on less prominent issues clear. But Obama, to me, appears to be rational, logical, and clear-headed. McCain, on the other hand, has a history of emotional problems, erratic and irresponsible behavior, infidelity(possibly abuse), and bad judgment. Electing Obama may be a bit of a risk, yes, but McCain is certain doom.
  4. Wow, not even out of the Oven, and already giving me sig quote material. +rep
  5. If you need massive storage, hit http://www.smugmug.com. It's not free, but you get unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, and full-size originals. And anyone who actually shows at a track day before signing up gets +rep from me.
  6. Bearing this statement in mind, if you tell us that you are going to remove the body kit, repaint the car in a single solid color, and either remove that decklid or make it functional, then I am all for letting you stay in this section until you can show progress pics, then allow you into the forum at large. If you intend to leave the car as it sits cosmetically, then just go away. That thing is gayer than Richard Simmons deep-kissing Clay Aiken.:gay2: No rep either way until you answer.
  7. Hey, I'm all for armed insurrection if McCain gets elected.

  9. I said from the start, it's just a hopped-up 350Z. Now it turns out that it's a BADLY hopped-up 350Z. Oh well.
  10. They aren't wood screws. They're drywall screws for steel-frame houses. They have self-drilling tips instead of self-tapping. After fucking up the door sills, the rockers, the A and B pillars and all the body panels, I'd say they owe him a new car.
  11. Meet somebody in the parking lot in this day and age and expect to get shot.
  12. I don't. The LAST person i want treating me is someone who believes in any form of "Intelligent Design". If someone designed the human body, they were dumber than a pile of cowshit. The human body is hardly the image of God. It's a mish-mash of half-finished, unstable independent systems that topples over at the merest hint of malfunction. I want a doctor that knows that for truth.
  13. OK, something is a bit screwy here, it's got as about 2 left, which is about where it should be, but it's got me down as being 2 on the authoritarian side, which is screwy.
  14. The fact that a "doctor" has less grasp of the scientific process than a high-school dropout makes me despair for the country. How did you make it through the science classes necessary to obtain a medical degree without learning that in the case of non-reproducible natural phenomena, observation takes the place of experiment? Evolution has withstood countless attempts to disprove it. Creationism falls apart within minutes under even the lightest of examination, as does young Earth.
  15. Full throttle in reverse. Weight transfer pushed the bumper up and it over-rode the cruiser's bumper. Same reason you see pictures of rear-end accidents where the rear car smashes in under the lead car. That one in the ditch, though, WTF happened there?
  16. 3lb sledge it is. I'll pack a chisel along, too.
  17. Rick's offerings are not theory. They have not withstood testing, observation, and/or argument. Young Earth and Creationism are faith-based hypotheses, nothing more.
  18. I've got a mini aluminum bat, a real aluminum bat, a 3lb sledgehammer, and a 15lb sledge hammer. If you catch em, let me know which to bring with me. I'll keep an eye out.
  19. Rick, you're a doctor, you know better, yet you still fall into the same trap of confusing a theory with a hypothesis. I'm not going to get back into this stupid argument with you again. When you can offer something beyond dogma and pseudoscience, than we'll talk.
  20. Here's a little more of the Straight Talk Express: So, the war IS over oil? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFknKVjuyNk Yeah, I'm sure you can find a hundred videos to rebut this. I can find a hundred more to support it. That's the problem. He's switched positions on EVERYTHING at least ten times. So, are you gonna vote for the McCain that loves George Bush and everything the man has ever done, or are you voting for hte McCain who is trying to distance himself from George Bush and everything he's ever done?
  21. McCain said it. Long before anyone in the Obama campaign repeated it. I've been saying it for a long time now. Here you go.
  22. That is just...wrong...
  23. Except that McCain has stated plainly that he will continue, unchanged, Bush's policies and strategies on taxes, budgets, and the war in Iraq. I'd call those "incumbent policies".
  24. I'm sorry, but am I the only that thinks, far beyond any question of religion, that this particular belief calls into question her critical thinking abilities?
  25. How to cook a meal that isn't conveniently enclosed in a single package. How to perform basic First Aid as defined by the Boy Scouts and the Red Cross.(i.e. how to stabilize a victim until medical aid arrives, up to and including emergency tracheotomy) How to fix basic home maintenance problems like bad outlets, clogged sinks, cracked drywall, runny toilets, etc... How to drive a stick-shift. How to DRIVE rather than just how to obey traffic signs. Let's bring back Driver's Ed, plus advanced driving courses. Basic Marksmanship. Beyond just being able to fire it SAFELY, we should teach them to fire ACCURATELY. Add a basic course to PE from middle school on up, and offer an advanced class to high-schoolers. A competitive shooting team should be offered alongside football and b-ball for extracurricular sports.
