I don't know any process that you can use to weed out those who can't handle it, but you could start by offering them a choice between the current womens' training, where certain standards are relaxed, and taking the same program and standards as the mens' basic. The women who can pass the mens program would be allowed to apply to combat MOS, the rest go to the current REMF duties already open to them. But banning women from the military is just stupid. There are a shit-ton of women in non-combat REMF roles that do their jobs as well as anyone, and getting rid of them is going to mean that skilled positions will have to be filled by men who could be using those skills in the combat arena.

If you need a non-anonymous account for signing up for services, get one through your IP, and set it to allow in only senders in your address book. Then get a Yahoo account for everything else. You might get the occasional spam, but it does a pretty good job of keeping it out of your inbox.

That uninstall was a big part of the problem. It left Norton files and weird little applets all over the computer that interfered with the installation of new antivirus software. He tried to reinstall and run the uninstall again, and it fucked up the computer even worse. Several services told him they couldn't do jack shit, the registry was corrupted beyond repair by leftovers from Norton. The consensus was that it was caused by one of the many viruses designed specifically to attack Norton itself. Finally, he copied off what he could of the uncorrupted data, and wiped he whole damn thing. He's not the only one who has gone through a nightmare like that. Google around for Norton complaints.

Actually, I like Robert A. Heinlein's solution. Require every law-abiding citizen over the age of 21 to openly carry a handgun. Pass training and practice requirements, and require carry weapons to be of a certain minimum impact energy, accuracy, and quality. Offer a waiver process for the pansies. Is it gonna happen? It only says that he is in favor of women registering for the draft, or more properly, registering for the Selective Service. My Mother is on her twelfth, the campaign is sending out thousands of REPLACEMENT signs every day, and a friend of mine had her car vandalized because she had an Obama sticker on it. I've said it so many times that it is beginning to be reflex; There is no possibility, NONE, that the American government could cover up an operation the size of what would be needed to pull off 9/11. The cooperation of several hundred individuals would be needed, and eventually, someone with access to documentation would have an attack of conscience. But 19 individuals acting in concert could easily accomplish an attack like that under the conditions of the day. Occam's Razor, dude, look it up.

I was kind of crazy when I had my bike. If the sidewalks were light, I'd ride on them, no prob. When foot traffic got heavy, I'd hit the street. Usually, the University side of the sidewalk on High Street is fairly empty, so I'd just ride on that side. Off of campus, I was pretty much always on sidewalks unless they were fucked up or non-existent. And even the fucked up sidewalks were fun.

Seems like all that noise from a Harley is wasted power too. My Dad's buddy has a 67 Lowrider Police Special(damn nice bike), and after he had the timing adjusted, it was faster, and yet quieter. And even with the baffles yanked out of the mufflers, it's still quieter than most current factory Harleys.

The nice part about that, though, is that it will be around 50* in the middle of winter, too. It stays a pretty constant mid-50s year round.
