  1. You missed: 13) somebody lock this and 14) the moderators are all a bunch of Nazis
  2. Bush isn't 100% responsible. Clinton, Papa Bush, and even old Ronnie have to shoulder some of the blame themselves. Army Corps of Engineer funding has been going down for years, so there is less money to fix existing problems, and to prevent others from happening to begin with. The Coast Guard is operating with equipment procured in the early 80s, and their maintainence funding has been cut for the last 10 years running, to the point that their fleet of rescue helicopters can only manage a 40% availability rate AT BEST, due to the lack of spare parts. (PS, Congress has pushed the Coast Guard modernization funding to the back burner yet again). And putting FEMA under Homeland Security merely added another couple layers of bureaucracy to a system that already had problems.
  3. Hasn't anybody else noticed that the "boycott gas" emails always want you to skip buying gas the day BEFORE prices shoot up? Meaning you'd end up paying MORE the day after the protest, and thus making the oil companies pockets even larger? Ever wonder where those emails come from......
  4. That was always the way I understood it to be as well. When he told me about it, I thought he meant he broke 65 on the ramp! It doesn't seem right, given that the ramp is one of those uber-dangerous C-weaves, and there's at least 3 or 4 crashes there every week from people popping out into traffic at low speed.
  5. Columbus has been stationing a cruiser on I270 under the Main street bridge the last few days. A friend actually got a ticket from the cop for exceeding the CAUTION speed on the ENTRANCE RAMP onto 270, so this is one to watch out for. It's almost impossible to see him under the bridge, the shadows on a sunny day hide him really well.
  6. Without reading it, let me take a guess. Exxon's profits are up something like 30% from last year, and gas prices are up about 30% from last year too. Hmmm.........coincidence? And a former oilman just passed a bill giving massive tax breaks to the oil companies while drastically cutting R&D funding for alternative sources of fuel.
  7. (Avenger posting this) Yes, it's that spot. I've pulled the cable out, and ground/cut away all the rusted metal. Coated it with Rustoleum, but that can be wirebrushed off in 5 minutes.
  8. My brother (he posts as Avenger) has some rust damage to the floorpan on his car that he needs to get fixed. It's a fairly large hole, but it's not in structural areas. He'd be removing the bad metal himself, and supply the new sheet metal too. All he needs is someone who can cut the metal to shape and weld it in, it doesn't even have to be pretty, just keep the water out. Is there anyone available to do it? If you can, please drop him an E-mail at dsmdalton@yahoo.com, or send a PM to me, as he can't log on to the board for some reason to check messages. Danke!
  9. Losing an engine on takeoff is not good in any plane, even with 2 engines. And who knows how much damage that bird did, if the compressor failed it could easily have killed hydraulic pressure, started a fire, or simply killed the fuel pumps. They were talking about trying for a "relight on 2", so it sounds like both engines went out.
  10. Was that an exhibition run? I didn't notice that he really staged, or that the tree was lit.

Notice that the front is NOT STRAPPED AT ALL. Buncha fucktards.
  12. That thing has been poking around Columbus for years, dude. I can't remember what it's called but some freak actually built five of them in the eighties, thought they'd be "the next big thing". And no, those are not CRX wheels. CRX wheels have four circular holes in a weird spacing, not two directly opposite. Those are just sheet steel hubcaps.
  13. Jeez, even the guy correcting him is an idiot.
  14. The WIFE? Heck with that! Give her the Accord and keep the GTP for yourself! *Unless...was it her idea to get a GTP? If so then she's got good taste in cars.*

  16. *Going to find rope* Goodbye stupid world!!*Sound of chair falling over, horrible choking noise*
  17. Did you guys notice the white Olds getting squirrely off the line? Saved his ass.
  18. 2 Zum, you do any thing to your sway-bars? If you're still using the stock sway bars with those new coil-overs, you might be a little disappointed when that body-roll sticks around. That's a nice set-up though, get some stiffer sway-bars on it, and see just how much those shocks can REALLY do.
  19. Fucking "flood protection" double post @#%*
  20. I made 2 huge mistakes before I got it right with the third. 89 Probe LX(mistake #1) 90 Taurus(mistake #2) 95 Bonneville SSEi(moving in the right direction) 98 Park Avenue Ultra(finally got it right) Next will be 97+ Camaro RS project car(L67 swap and build)
  21. Center body mass. All else is bullshit. You don't shoot to kill ,or to wound, or to intimidate the guy. You shoot at the part of the body that is easiest target, the torso. If he happens to live though it, so much the better. But if you try to shoot somebody's leg or arm, in a self-defense situation, you are probably not going to hit the guy at all. As for how many shots a person will fire, every person reacts differently to stressful situations, and every self-defense situaton is different. Most law-enforcement agencies train for center-body-mass/three shots.
  22. Exactly his point. Not including you or any Civic owner with a modicum of sense in this, but there are quite a few ricers out there who actually would be stupid enough to brag about Si consoles, or Si steering wheels, or door panels, or whatever. Besides, why else would evcerything removable be stripped off the Si, when there's the same year and body style several cars down, that hasn't been touched?
