  1. Might be too close to the sidewall, but I've seen sketchy repair shops patch a sidewall leak soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. Haven't driven a 124 Abarth yet but the vanilla version is just like a softer, more touring focused version of the MX5. Great little car, needs more power but the aftermarket is already working on that. Those punchy little 1.4T motors can be a blast with ~200whp. I think the Abarth with the mechanical LSD and optional brembos would be the perfect little roadster with a slightly more aggressive tune.
  3. Couldn't work out a trade since my bike isn't as valuable as I thought, but bump for a good seller and having seen this watch in person, it is NICE. Very classy, big enough to fit on my large wrist but small enough to wear with a suit. GLWS
  4. Problem is no one outside of CA or OR can work on them IIRC.

  6. At least it'll be interesting to see how a new 2013 vehicle sells in 2020.
  7. That car is the vehicular equivalent of Pamela Anderson. People will debate the exterior appearance with good arguments on both sides, but everyone knows she's worn out and dead inside. Also, that car probably has Hep C.
  8. Learn to use ITA Matrix then use any site you want. https://matrix.itasoftware.com/
  9. If you're honest about condition, KBB's instant cash offer option can be a good resource. Basically you give them as much info as possible and participating dealers will give you cash offers. It can be a good way to get the door-to-door search over with quickly.
  10. I've got a Giant Talon 5, 27.5", SRAM components, disc brakes. Nothing super fancy but it's a nice bike with not a lot of use. Can PM pics after I get home if you're interested. edit: to upload pics just go to imgur.com and upload there, then paste the link here
  11. When it comes to hockey, parents need to make a choice very early on; do you want your kid to be a normal kid with a hockey hobby, or do you want your kid to be a professional hockey player and you will make it YOUR full time job to support their ability to do that now and going forward?
  12. Having just started playing hockey 2 years ago, I definitely would echo everything here. I REALLY wanted to get into it growing up as a kid in New England where literally everyone plays hockey and lacrosse, but street hockey was all we could afford since I grew so fast; I would've been buying new gear mid season every season, so it was out of the question. I will say that Cbus has an INCREDIBLE hockey infrastructure in place for a city that's really only had major hockey interest for less than a couple decades. I wouldn't recommend it for kids unless you plan to push them towards going to the collegiate level (whether for scholarships or to pursue a career) because it dominates your life. Even now, just a couple years in, all I think about is my next beer league game.
  13. Totally understand, appreciate the backup deal. Went to Meister's last night for dollar cans and pizza, couldn't resist after this thread. Haven't stumbled home with a belly full of Stroh's in a while.
  14. You live near Meisters, neighbor (or ex-neighbor I should say)? I'm on Kenny by the kidney center. Gonna talk to the fiancee about the coffee table. What are approx dimensions?
  15. IMO sports are more about the social aspect than physical or professional. No reason to pay for more than the cost of equipment. Depends what the kids are into, but spring is a solid season for sports because they can get into baseball, lacrosse, tennis, etc. I played tennis growing up and I think it makes for mentally strong kids. You'll see kids throw tantrums like crazy but as they get older, they learn to handle the obstacles on their own and it teaches them to think independently. Also you can play tennis against a wall, and you can almost always find a free open court somewhere nearby.
  16. Holdback is different for every single manufacturer. On FCA vehicles it's between 2-5% depending on which vehicle. Some cars have less. MSRP, Invoice, holdback, etc are irrelevant. Market conditions set the price. You want a Plum Crazy Challenger Scat Pack with 6MT and there's only 5 in the country? Doesn't matter if SXTs are selling for $1000 under invoice, if all 5 dealers who have the car you want know what they have is rare, there's no reason to sell for less than the market commands. In other cases, a car selling for less than holdback is reasonable. Sometimes dealers have write-downs on various vehicles for a variety of reasons, from age on the lot to marketing cost writeoffs to whatever. It depends 100% on what kind of car you're looking for. If you want a brand new BMW M2, you're gonna get laughed at a lot demanding invoice less holdback. If you want a Hyundai Accent, you can push into holdback without much resistance. Other topics: Taxes are based on the address at which you title your vehicle. What county do you live in? Max OH documentary fees are $250. Many people will say these fees are bullshit. Regardless of how you feel about them, we MUST charge the same fee to every single customer. You cannot just get us to "waive the doc fee" because we'd be in violation of discrimination laws, which will cost us much more than we'll earn for selling you a car below invoice. State fees are a max of $43.50. That covers lien fee, memo title, temp tags, etc. These are non-taxed and cannot be negotiated. Don't call around. Be at the dealership. There are only 2 tools you have at your disposal that will help you get the best deal; your willingness to buy a car that day, and your willingness to walk away if the deal isn't right. When you go to the dealership, you should know which car it is you're there to see, you should know what a REASONABLE market-supported price is, and you should be willing and able to buy the car right then and there if they accept your offer. Feel free to PM me if you want more car buying advice, I sell cars for a living and I can guarantee I've sold more cars in my 6 year career than this entire thread has bought in their collective lifetimes (excluding, of course, other car salespeople). What kind of car are you seeking?
  17. I've never bought a house, but if I was sinking 6 figures and decades of future payments and family life into a thing, you're damn right I'm gonna pitch a fit about 6" of headache waiting to happen.
  18. TTT updated OP, $400 takes it, can a mod please update the thread title to reflect this? thx
  19. Hell hath no fury like a car salesman dealing with someone who isn't his customer. EDIT: and yeah, my uncle is a badass. flower child draftee turned MC gangbanger turned radiologist turned retired outdoorsman LOL.
  20. This hits a lot of good points, though CUs are great for loans, I don't think I'd ever use one as my main bank. One thing I've run into a lot working with people's personal banks (car sales) is that CUs are a GIANT pain in the ass if you want to get things done off work hours. Getting daily withdrawal limits waived/raised, getting an actual human on the phone, getting shit done on a Sunday are all things you can do with a big bank via remote customer support (HNB has been stellar in this regard for me) but Kemba and Telhio as a couple examples are absolute assholes to deal with for anyone but the customer, and even then for the customer it can be a hassle. One CU that my customers absolutely love and that has an excellent staff in my experience is CME FCU.
  21. Some of you may remember my janky old 1959 Chevy Apache pickup truck. It was a gift from an uncle of mine who lives out in Berkeley, CA. I got that truck because of a situation similar to this. My uncle's old neighbor had erected a fence between their properties about 6" on their own side of the property, giving my uncle JUST enough space for a short gravel driveway to the backyard where he could squeeze the truck through. Old neighbor and he also helped each other out in terms of the street parking situation, with my uncle allowing the neighbor to street park in the area blocking his driveway. Old neighbor moves out, new neighbor moves in, wants 6" more of garden space in the yard. They told my uncle to deconstruct the fence, uncle said fuck off I'm not paying to take it down, so they sent a letter asking him to do it (likely to document evidence). Eventually they just basically picked up the fence and moved it 6" into my uncle's driveway, thereby trapping the truck in the backyard. In the meantime my uncle has gotten a new truck with a pop-up camper in the bed, he also has a motorcycle and wife has a WRX so they have ways to get around. Neighbor is pissed now that they're not getting the angry reaction they want, so they start parking in front of the driveway, arguing that it's not being used since it can't access the back. Uncle has their car towed. As retaliation, the neighbor uses their mother (who they drive around occasionally) to get a handicap placard, and petitions the city to make the spot immediately next to his driveway a handicap-only street spot. City obliges, and while the driveway is now clear, there's always the neighbor's car juuuust not giving enough space for his pop-up pickup to fit. So my uncle calls the city arguing that they're using the placard without the handicap person actually living there. Gets their car towed again, this time with a big fine for misuse of a handicap placard...SO THE NEIGHBOR MOVES THEIR MOM IN WITH THEM so they can keep the placard and use the spot all the time. Well then my uncle's diagnosed with cancer, and gets his own handicap placard. Guess who now has a permanently parked pop-up camper in front of their house in "their" handicap-only spot? All this comes to a head when the neighbor threatens him, and he responds by firing up the Apache for the first time in months, and drives it straight through the fence and out to the street. That day he called me and said "I've got a really nice pickup truck with some damage on the passenger side, it's yours if you can drive it back to Ohio." Turns out the new neighbor had moved the fence a couple inches into his property and he didn't damage the shit on her side of the line. Do you want it to get to that level? Because it's probably headed there if you don't exercise ever proper legal option you have.
  22. Charles Schwab checking. They reimburse ALL ATM fees worldwide. You go to Rock on the Range and pay a $5 ATM fee? They reimburse your checking account. Same as having a normal local branch because you can use any local branch of any bank because they'll fucking reimburse you.
  23. It's not new, has been fired but I can't remember what the previous owner said the round count was. I'll see if I can find his info.
  24. For me a good steak is like good jazz. It's as much about the notes (ingredients) that you DON'T use. A proper steak should be a bit of salt, fresh cracked pepper, basted with butter and light herbs, taken off the heat when it's rare and let rest to a perfect mid-rare. Every time I've been to S&W I feel as though they put my steak straight on a plate and served it to me without resting; sure it's a perfect mid-rare, but the damn thing is still bleeding when I cut into it. I agree with everyone saying Merlots/Mitchell's are best in Cbus, I used to manage the valets at the Polaris Mitchell's and, at least at the time, their steaks were among the best I'd ever had. And IMO their service is top notch, at both the Polaris and downtown locations compared to other steakhouses. Say what you want about Cameron Mitchell's cooking style/recipes, his restaurants have impeccable service standards IMO.
  25. So you've got 6" of property on "their" side of the fence, huh? Sounds like you need 6" x however long the fence is worth of steaming cow shit to me.
