Brother has a 16 or 17 ram. Has exhaust tick from broken manifold bolts which is common on the Rams from my understanding. He has shorty headers and exhaust he wants installed somewhere. Anyone know of a good place that would want to tackle it?

Swapped the hub today and fixed it. I'll let the next owner do the other hub when it goes.

I've really got to get a scan tool that does abs and air bags. I run into instances every couple years where I could use one or the other. I'm getting ready to get rid of the truck so I'm just trying to get it good enough to get rid of. Already dropped the tank and replaced the fuel module, fuel cooler, and all the lines. Need to get this abs problem worked out and the air bag light and it'll be good to go I think.

06 duramax. When braking and I get ~5mph the abs pump kicks in and truck pulls to the right. That tells me it's a left side problem correct? I did the speed sensor on that side but no change so I'm assuming now the reluctor is bad. Timken hub and bearings are fine. I went ahead and ordered a hub so the hub swap is happening. Just want to see if anyone has ran into this and my thinking is right.

Think I've about talked myself out of a Jeep for him. Finding him a vehicle is proving to be tougher than I thought. I think on paper the Jeep looks better than it does in principle. The frame rust is concerning because it's right in the sweet spot of our price range. Kinda looking at Tacoma's now.....which incidentally is another vehicle with frame rust issues haha. Before it's over he'll end up in a boring ass s-10 or ranger probably.

No code I'm guessing? I forget off the top of my head which code mine threw that commanded max line pressure.....solenoid code I believe but that's been 10 years ago so my memory is beyond foggy. MAF or speed density and if MAF is it healthy? Maybe it's a load calculation deal causing it?

I use that advance tool to do flares....the amount of line you have sticking out of the block is important. Should be up the height of the shoulder on the mandrel piece. Also keep in mind that flare doesn't have to be completely perfect. It'll form somewhat around that nipple when you tighten it down. One of the mistakes I used to make was trying to get that flare exactly perfect. It doesn't have to be. Just get a decent double flare and it won't leak.

If he doesn't take it I would like to have it.....my tool box situation sucks.

I appreciate the offer and that sounds like a killer deal. I don't think he'd be interested in a cherokee though. I've pointed them out to him and he's not really into them. Part of being 16 is also being stupid haha. I don't want to force something on him he doesn't want though. I drove a 75 Cutlass as a first car....it was so slow it had dead bugs on the back windshield. My dad talked me into that car.....I really wanted a mustang I found that had a 351 in it. Now that I'm older the Cutlass was the way to go but I sure wish I would've had that mustang....would've needed a bumper hitch on it though so I could just tow the coffin behind me.

We live about a mile from the school but on rt 22 which is pretty busy. That part doesn't concern me a ton because he has to drive on that highway regardless. He also handles my Duramax pretty good now with his temps. He's an outdoors kid so we will definitely be taking it hunting and mudding. Just normal country kid stuff....been slinging the quad around since he was 5. Currently rides our scrambler 500 and a Kawasaki dirt bike we have. Wrestles at school, gets good grades, and is pretty responsible overall. I honestly could get him something quick and wouldn't worry a ton but I was 16 and know how that goes when you have buddies around. I just don't want the same old s10 or Civic for him. Be nice to have something fun but not something that's going to kill him. I wrench and he does to the level of most 16 yr olds so I fully expect something we gotta work. Just not wanting something where we're doing major shit on a regular basis...hence my attraction to the 4L. I'm open to suggestions for other stuff to look at also. I'm gonna let him have a say in it since it's his ride but I'll have veto powers. Haha Edit: also something I have to consider is he's 6'4. Height will be an issue to take into consideration

My son turns 16 this year so we'll be looking to get him a ride. Kinda looking for an older Wrangler with a 4L in it. Don't really want the standard s10 or ranger for him. Just wondering if that'd be a decent first ride? Any years in particular to look for? I've read about frame rust being an issue....any other common things to look for? Probably going to look in the $4-5k range. Gonna get much for that or should I scrap the Jeep idea altogether? Want to stay away from anything fast because I was 16 at one time too but would like to get him something that has character hence the Jeep idea to begin with.

The combine derby in Lancaster is awesome. The fair out here in general is worth the trip. They always have several cool things that week

Williams has head coaching experience......with the bills. Not sure how you let him go without at least trying a year. He turned the team around and he's a players coach so the guys will want to play for him.
-
What's the odds they let Gregg Williams go? The only coach to have a winning season since 2007. I'd say they have to give him a 1 year contract but as everyone knows....browns gonna browns. Don't be shocked if they bring in someone else.

We have an mx650. eBay is your friend for batteries. The other thing is brake pads. I looked awhile back for some and emailed razor but never found any and didn't hear back from razor. I need to get on that before spring because the 6 yr old is ready to start riding it

I've seen piles or dog shit that looked better.

This stuff is a little out of my league....I'm not really a gun enthusiast as much as just a 30+ year hunter so just experience with hunting guns. I will say however a couple years ago I bought my son a Mossberg 500 20 gauge that came with 2 barrels. The cantelever deer barrel loaded with Hornady SST's is a pretty damn impressive deer gun. That thing drives tacks and we've killed 5 deer with it between us and a buddy of mine and none of them took another step after being hit. Its easily my favorite gun we own. I did buy a 50 cal accura v2 muzzleloader that's a close 2nd. Very accurate gun and easy to use. Not really on par with the guns you guys shoot but in Ohio I can t hunt with any of those so I have no real use for them.

Serious question because I'm old as hell too. Does no one go to the bars anymore? Every break up I ever had was dealt with at a bar.

We dropped direct over a year ago and overall it's been awesome. This is my one and only complaint though. I've yet to figure out a solid sports replacement. Kodi sucks for live sports.

My brother is looking to get a new system put in his GTO. Who do you guys trust to do it right? He's particular about the car so doesn't want to just take it anywhere.

I've seen similar to that a few times. Usually an undersized vehicle towing a camper. I saw a gust of wind put a toy hauler travel trailer up on 2 wheels this year. It was a miracle it didn't go over.

My views on drug abuse have changed drastically over time. I used to write them off and say tough shit but these days I don't know if that's right. Everyone makes some bad decisions in their lives at some point. These days as a young person that's a bad decision that can haunt you the rest of your life. No one chooses to become a drug addict and destroy theirs and their family's lives. It's a mistake they make and the consequences are far greater than when I was younger. I view it as a disease or sickness these days when I used to not think that. I wish those people could be helped and I think most, if not all, of them would choose to be sober and not an addict if that were possible. Unfortunately the drugs that are out there now don't give many a real chance of that.

Does that particular engine have issues with the timing chain tensioner? I don't know much about Honda engines as a whole and what vehicles have what motor but do know the k series in the cr-v's have tensioner issues.
-
I'm all for 2nd chances. It's the 3rd, 4th, 5th, ECT ECT chances I'm not a fan of. If it's a non-violent drug offense then reduce it but tack it onto their next offense when it happens.....and it will happen.

My dad late in his life gave me some advise. He said people will tell you to eat right and things like that but what they don't tell you to do is take care of your feet. He had alot of pain walking late in life because of his feet. Made sense.
