2001 Silverado V6 - slow start, hesitation on highway?
xlr8tn replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Tech and Tips
I know when mine went I noticed the lack of power at highway speeds first and then the long cranks. When I checked fuel pressure it was only a pound or two below spec (which I forget what it was). After the pump it was good to go. Yep...those spiders are also known to leak. You can shine a light in the intake and see if the walls are washed down with fuel. I'm still going fuel pressure though. Another notorious issue is the lower intake gasket...if it's not leaking now it will. -

I agree with the fuel pump guys...I had a 98 years ago with same symptoms and was fuel pump. -
Personally I couldn't care less what happens to a trampy stripper....famous or otherwise.

Pixel 2xl here.....been pretty happy with it the couple months I've had it. We have 4 pixel phones and so far 2 of them have been dropped and broken. Not sure if that says something about the phones or the users. My wife dropped hers and busted the screen and my daughter dropped hers and shattered the camera.

Nice looking smoker. I mulled doing this for a few years but ultimately I'd have been a one man show and don't have the time to do all that. Maybe one of these days. Until then I'll just continue to cook for family/friends as a hobby.

I would never do a 12 year loan. That being said it really sucks that I'll never be able to buy a new truck. I currently have an 06 Duramax. To get a new replacement it would be in the $60-70k range and financed over 5 years would almost look like another mortgage payment. I would have to show up with a boat load of cash to buy one. That's if I thought a new Duramax was even worth that kinda money.....it's not.

That's how you tune a chassis

Today, 2013, 2007........doesn't make it any less stupid. People today are so attention depraved they'll do anything to get it I guess and the type of attention doesn't matter.

You can do that awning yourself....with a helper or two. Tons of YouTube videos on replacing them. Helped my buddy do his last year. Pretty straight forward really. If you have any construction experience at all you could tackle that floor. Like everyone else has said...make sure you find the leak first and fix that. Whether it's the door or whatever. Check up the walls and make sure there's no rot up the walls. Not sure if that has aluminum or wood studs. Hopefully aluminum. Recaulk around roof vents with dicor and proflex or eternabond tape.

The "who's wrong" argument means nothing to the bicyclist....they're still dead. If you ride a bike on the road filled with cars it's not if but when you either get hit or almost get hit. -
I need to borrow a car

http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126332&highlight=Headphones Asked about headphones awhile back and got some good advice there. My daughter picked the sol republic's and she loves them. She uses them constantly and the battery life has been excellent. I've only listened to them a couple times but thought they sounded good enough for me.

I've never had a single issue with toyo MT's in snow. I have a 2500 though so the weight of the truck helps. I'm on my 2nd set of MT's. I got 50k+ out of the first set which is awesome for a mud tire on a 2500. I went with their AT for my summer tire but if I ever decide to just run an AT type tire year round I'd definitely be looking at the RT's. Actually.....that's not true. If I could only run 1 tire year round it's going to be an MT. I've been in some sketchy situations with AT tires or bald tires while hunting. Not risking it anymore. Several years ago me and my son were hunting and I pulled off the side of the road. Truck slid down into this little ditch and we damn near never got out of it. Had to collect up a bunch of logs to get under the tires so I could climb out. We were in BFE down in a bottom area with no cell service.

How important is a quiet smooth ride? Do you value that over tackling trails? I just recently took MT tires off my duramax to run on my spare rims during hunting season and put a/t tires on for summer when I put a ton of miles towing the camper. The MT's never really bothered me but I'm tired of killing my MT's through the summer when I never need them. I run Toyo tires for both sets. I've had great luck with them wearing well and getting plenty of life out of them. I almost went with the Cooper discoverer atp because I have 2 buddies that run those and they're a pretty solid AT tire. I would say don't run MT's unless you really think you'll need them. Look at the toyo opentl country at2 in a 295. That size and up is there "extreme" AT and kinda fits both bills....or the RT for a little more aggressive without being a full MT.

People don't want to work because they know the govt will provide for them if they don't. We don't need illegals to do our work.....we need the people we have here already to stop getting hand outs and strap on a pair of work boots.

A ton of places here in town have "now hiring" signs up. That tells me all I need to know.

I don't buy into the mental health excuse either. Sure...they were whackos but mental health isn't the cure all for ending gun violence. I do think we're unique just in our freedoms and we always have been. This country was founded based on those freedoms. Many times more people have died procuring and defending those freedoms so they're a pretty big deal to a lot of people. Not only can an ar-15 be bought easily by a law abiding citizen but so can 9 mm pistols and shotguns which were used in columbine. So to throw the ar-15 ban blanket over the problem isn't the cure all either. To me that's equally as silly as blaming it all on mental health. Right now it's way to easy to shoot up a school. Maybe one of the costs of freedom is to spend more money making schools an impossible target. I don't feel arming teachers is the answer. To me access and protection are the answers. Check points to get into a school and a strong police presence at every school would be a good start.
