  1. Yeah, I screwed up when the wife was helping me bleed them the first time. I also had to take the pressure sensor off the ABS block to get to the line underneath it.
  2. yeah, I got that part. The ABS is what I'm having trouble with. I'm going to call the dealership out here Monday and just see what they would charge me to bleed 'em. I imagine it's not going to be pretty though. A buddy of mine is going to come over and give me a hand and see if we can get it bled but it looks like you gotta have a tech 2 to do it.
  3. sounds like a good day. That's a cool website. I looked over a bunch of pictures of roseville and the junction city pen. Wish that junction city pen was still standing as it's only 10-15 minutes from me. I liked the movie brubaker too and it would've been cool to go visit it. Too bad those places aren't kept around and restored for tours and what not.
  4. I'm guessing I'm SOL on this one?
  5. my opinion is that the cheaper widebands fill a void that wouldn't otherwise be filled. Not everyone can spend thousands on the top of the line wideband but most can afford the $200ish dollar versions. I would rather run the cheaper wideband than none at all. I don't like the ground offset issues they have though and the fact that the offsets aren't linear but they've worked for me so far. Is my tune optimal? Probably not but it's as good as I can get it with the equipment I have and the equipment is as good as I can afford. I would still rather be where I'm at than relying on someone else to tune it for me.

how much and how big do you need? I have a bunch of 4" rolled up here at the house. I don't want to part with it all but if you're only looking for a 10' piece of it or something like that it's yours.
  7. It has 4wal and I'm wondering if it's possible to bleed the abs block without a tech 2 or the j39177 tools? If the abs light is on the abs is disabled correct? The reason I ask that is some say (internet folklore maybe) you can get the air out of the block by locking the brakes up and getting the abs to engage but with my light on I'm pretty sure the abs disables itself. I have pedal and the truck doesn't stop half bad but the pedal definitely doesn't feel right and the abs light is on. I replaced the brake lines so that's how I know there's air in the block. I bled the master cylinder and all 4 wheels twice now but can't get the abs bled and I assume it's because the valves need cycled. Some of the stuff I read is confusing because there's conflicting info out there as to whether you can bleed them without the tech 2 and j39177 tools.
  8. yeah it was..... I kept looking in my passenger window for your fender to start showing up then I would look in the rear view to try and see where you were at. I only ran a 12.10 that pass but had a good light.
  9. transmission range sensor codes. Anyone ran into these and know where that sensor is on a cougar?
  10. I'd say you're having at least some allergic reaction to the stings. If you were highly allergic you wouldn't be typing. I'd probably still go see a doc and let them check you out. Yellow jackets are nasty little critters. My 3 year old daughter stumbled into a nest of them last week. They got her 5 times ( twice in the head) before I got over to her to pull her out of them and then one got me in the hand. Yellow jackets aren't like bee's either...they don't die when they sting so they can sting you over and over.
  11. the only people here to blame were the guys running. I can see how someone would view it as "it was only a traffic violation" but if it were truly only a traffic violation why did they run? I'd think at that point it quit being only a traffic violation. I feel most sorry for the parents of the kids. I have 2 kids and could not even fathom the grief it would be to lose 1 of them.....these people lost 5. There's just some terrible shit that happens to people in this world.
  12. I always look at the reasons people list when they ask these questions and that will usually tell which way they are leaning. For example. You list 6 good things and only 4 bad things. So it appears you've put some thought into why you should do it. How old are your kids? I personally would never do anything that would take away from my family time unless I was forced too but that's me. You never hear someone on their death bed say they wished they would've worked more. Those are some nasty hours too but they're at home hours right? So you'd get to see your kids off to bed at night and things like that?? It'd be a tough decision probably but I would choose whichever afforded me more time with my kids.
  13. I may have to look at doing something like that. I have some high pressure oil lines leaking that I'm going to address after I finish the brake lines then I'll look at doing something about this rust. I know it's hard to cheap out and fix something at the same time but I sure would like the least expensive way of doing it. I might have this truck another year.....not to mention a 97 sonoma with 114k miles isn't worth a whole helluva lot to begin with.
  14. I have a 97 Sonoma highrider with 114k on it. It's a winter/hunting truck for the most part. It sits most of the summer except to haul the boat out. The problem is it sits outside in my gravel drive and moisture is ruining it. I blew a brake line out Monday hooking it up to my camper...thank god it blew there and not out on the road. I need to do something about the rust to slow it down. I probably don't plan on keeping the truck much longer but I also don't want the truck to rust to the point it's ruined because it's still a pretty good truck and it'd make someone a decent truck when I do get rid of it. Any somewhat easy way to tackle the rust keeping in mind I don't want to spend a fortune on it or every waking moment stripping it down to the frame? I know the proper way is to probably strip it down to the frame and por-15 everything..... I just don't have the time to do that and don't want to dump a bunch of money into a truck I know I'm not keeping. I've been wanting to buy a cheap sand blaster....would that be a decent option? Just blast everything I can get to on it and paint the frame?
  15. I wouldn't mind trying to re-populate the world with that nurse.
  16. I was selling battery hold down brackets last year for f-bodies. I used strictly usps because UPS charges way to much. I shipped probably 15-20 of them through usps and was blown away at their service and ship times. I shipped a couple to Arizona, Wash. state, and Cali and they were all there in 2-3 days using priority. Shipped 1 to Canada and it took a little longer but was cheap as hell compared to UPS. I would say give usps a try next time you ship something.
  17. it's a pretty cool feeling having them go to school at that age. My son is starting 1st grade this year and loves school. That will change but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. He went to catholic pre-school and then we moved him to fairfield union schools for kindergarten. I'll admit it was pretty weird watching him get on that bus by himself that first day. My daughter is starting a 3 year old pre-school deal this year that they're starting.
  18. I meant to get back with you about my buddy that went down there. Said it was a great experience and they will definitely be getting more of his business.
  19. I'm fairly certain there will still be one....it just won't be hosted by the same people. I know one of the guys that's talking with other investors right now to set it up. It's not 100% but a couple of key people are already onboard.
  20. yeah, the great depression was in the 80's. Let me guess....Columbus School District?
  21. I mod at ls1.com and it gets a little crazy/stupid there at times but as long as it's in AAG and not a personal attack we let a lot slide. No pink, no personal attacks towards members, and nothing racist. Other than that we let most slide to an extent. We have a political area and I never even go in there, politics is just asking for drama.
  22. how much work would you be looking at to disable the column lock?
  23. the problem is over there if/when you get caught they start lopping off body parts and shit like that. this is what I kept thinking when I read the story earlier. Must be a trustworthy daughter huh?
