  1. I like seeing what people are doing with garage space. Cool updates. From a guy that's had to sometimes back the wifey's van out to open the garage freezer, I approve of what you did. Clever way of keeping it right by the entrance to the house yet not in the way of vehicles.
  2. Very cool. Was that on E85?
  3. Never been a big fan of red cars, but I love what Tim's touch does to make that hue pop.
  4. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-raffensperger-call-georgia-vote/2021/01/03/d45acb92-4dc4-11eb-bda4-615aaefd0555_story.html Trump, this guy...
  5. Even Hoonigan is filming stuff from home locations through COVID...I’d provide content like that to a CR channel (even video it myself) if SOMEONE DOES THE EDITING AND PRODUCTION WORK...
  6. Might be the same UV-treated material, but it's not the cost of the material I'm concerned with: it's getting the job done right the first time. Also, the P.O. told me that I shouldn't be on the roof??? That's gonna seriously infringe my ability to DIY new rubber roofing as I'd need a few more bodies and some healthy ladders to do this from the side.
  7. I feel that way too about RK, RKG, HRG, Engine Masters, DED...but I realize aside from sponsor dollars they only have so much of a budget for each show and they have to manage that shit to the minute if MTOD is going to be successful long-term. The two things they are doing right is adding new content (Donut Media) and pulling up old shows. Gotta get more subscribers.
  8. It’s a rubber/EPDM sheeting over plywood that Is fixed to the roof with strips.
  9. I know I’m making this site ColumbusRVRepairAndRacing.com... Curious of the CR recommendations for RV servicing shops or guys out there. My 1975 Roadking we bought had a leak, and while I initially was YouTubing fixes I’m quickly realizing this job may be best done by professionals. Or at least, get a quote. Will be taking it to RCD RV first. They’ll need a couple days and $195 for an estimate. Anywhere else you guys recommend?
  10. Good conversation. My 9yo is very much into cars, thanks largely to C&C, vidya games like Forza, and then by extension shows like Top Gear/The Grand Tour and R&T Crew (subscription box for kids). In the last 9 months I got him out to Rt.555, IFO at Nat'l Trails, and Swamp Buggy Races in Naples, FL as events just to give him a real-world experience instead of videos. All times, he was reluctant and just wanted to stay at home. By the time we were at car events, a half-hour turned to an hour and in some instances lasted a half-day. My point is exposure is good, but I feel his limits. I do most of my own wrenching, but he doesn't want to get too deep. THAT'S FINE. I started out doing plastic models as a kid but got into wrenching when stuff needed repair on a budget during high school. Modern video games are fun and exciting, and CHEAP relative to some of the hobby stuff.
  11. Just finished the Holiday Hooptie Challenge...definitely made me chuckle. I'm glad I got MTOD. My son has been watching old episodes of Top Gear and a lot of the shows are good.
  12. At least our coming robotic overlords don’t seem so threatening...
  13. You guys didn’t get anything for kids?
  14. So, the current plan in 2021 is a drive up to one of Michigan's lakes with RV friends in July. Also, a return to Yellow Springs and talk about Mohican. Aside from that, no long trips to national parks YET...still have time to plan. I'm going to use some local Ohio trips to experience driving the Jeep without remote brakes. Will definitely do a shakedown run before going live with my family. I am concerned that additional weight of 4 people and stuff needs to be considered as well when driving. Wifey and I already know that 60-65mph is max speed, so will plan travel times (and tell our friends) accordingly.
  15. Trump: "I refuse to sign this COVID bill." Also Trump: "This is good. I should sign this." https://www.axios.com/why-trump-signed-coronavirus-relief-5fd23003-ac26-45e0-a09e-cddefaadbd42.html Butter up the President's ego and you can make him do anything. :eyes: Axios is also reporting that Trump announcing his bid to run again in 2024 is effectively a done deal, so we get to hear him crow for another 4+ years. It's tiring to hear his narrative all the time, even in the rare instance he's right on a topic. Hoping that Twitter puts a muzzle on him once he's out of office.
  16. My problem is, I trust Joe with my life...I believe he would share what he thinks is credible information about a situation.... I read what he posted above. I. Do. Not. Know what to do with this information. If there is a conspiracy this deep, sounds like court of public opinion will be happy to sweep this confusing incident under the closest rug.
  17. Thanks, guys. Spicer 20 transfer case can be shifted into N. Warn front hubs are unlocked for front axle disconnect. I mentioned the front mount from seeing a guy flat-tow a VW Bus where the tow arms were mounted to his front steering arm...I guess to help with steering??
  18. Alright, CR WinterForce 2020...looking forward to doing some family RVing in 2021. I'm WFH for most of the first half of the year, so planning on Spring Break (whatever that is for the kids learning remotely) and long weekends camping once the weather gets warmer in March/April. So, I bought a fiberglass-body 1975 CJ5 as a tow-behind. (http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1981764&postcount=43) Just weighed it at COSI's scale, and with 2/3rds tank of gas it weighs 2730lbs. It'll be towed behind my 1975 RV (Dodge Sportsman CB300 1-ton chassis w/dually axle). Slowly, but will be great to drive around once we set up camp. The frame/front bumper is solid on the Jeep. Was looking at Smittybilt for front-bumper mount tow bars, but should I be using a tow-bar that clamps on the steering arm on the front axle? Can I get away without a braking system, or is there a good way to do that without hacking up systems? Looking for experience/recommendations on equipment to focus on. Thanks!
  19. Tim, really sorry for all the life changes in one shitty year for you. <3 Hang in there, bud.
  20. I love a great B-Body...that was a car of my high-school years... BUT For the cost involved, you can get a great LS-based sedan that does everything better.
  21. Renovate the RV, and fix up the '75 CJ7 for tow duties....with COVID causing the kids' schooling to be remote through this summer, and I'm WFH, we're planning on taking long weekends when the weather warms up to travel as a family. I do want to take the Volvo on more AutoX and spirited drives.
  22. "That's all I'm saying" = "I want to believe this crazy idea, but I'm not going to research further or rely on facts to support it."
  23. The last time I saw someone knock a guy off a high perch and jump on him when he was down for the kill was at a dirt-floor bar in Western PA during my college years. It was funny then...and still amazing to watch now. I like the second video as well. Ryan: "Are you OK after falling out of that tree?" Ahsoka: "Oh sure...this f**king tree rat softened the landing."
