  1. Some elderly family friends just told me they bought a gun. I asked 'why now to get it?' They said because of the election, and if Biden gets in, society falling apart, etc... c'mon man...
  2. Just throw a 4-post in the back yard, and Fluid Film it.
  3. Great option for some projects...these new seats are cheaper than getting your old junk reupholstered. https://scatgaragesale.com/collections/seats?utm_source=procarbyscat.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=featured_product_fseries
  4. I actually like Paul's Grand Marquis.
  5. Thanks for taking the time for a review, Joe. I know from a good friend who is a custom home rebuilder and remodeler that good materials are really tough to come by, and the price is fluctuating daily. He just finished a build that, over the course of a few months, the cost of lumber had gone up $30k from the quotes/budget he did in the beginning.
  6. I'm not driving much these days. THANKS TRUMP. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/358114645233483 OP needs to finish up the BMW...
  7. I've got Load-E tires all around, and aside from the inability for me to balance bolting on the dually rear tires they run like a champ. I need to research how to balance the tires...they don't use a bolt-centric ring, and only a small dowel to align both wheels. I heard online that guys use 2 acorn-style lug nuts, torque the inner wheel to seat it, then put the outer wheel on, using the acorns to seat that before torquing it all down with the flat factory lug nuts. We have neighbors two houses down that bought a 2018 Forest River trailer from RCD used, shortly after we got our RV. Their first trip to Tennessee, on the way home a China-Bomb tire on the trailer blew up, sending tread through the wheel well, damaging the siding, floor, and sending the furnace into the cabin. The guy swapped the tire with a spare, and the SPARE BLEW outside of Stringtown Road on I-71. The insurance company almost totaled the 2-year old trailer, over a cheap tire. Tires Matter.
  8. I’ve enjoyed reading Jalopnik for years, but it seems like there are so many f**king ads that when I try to launch a video, it crashes my iPhone browser saying something like “there was a repeated error loading this content” or something. Curious if it happens to other people, and what I can do about it? Thx!
  9. Holy cow...nick’s S10 has always looked great but an amazing show-car finish now!
  10. Wow, I gotta say that is a truly one-of-a-kind setup there. I can smell the mustiness from the pics. Dig it though. Went camping last weekend to Dillon State Park, weather this late summer/fall has been amazing. We’re going to do one more trip in October and then time to winterize and work on some spruce-up projects.
  11. Yeahhhhh I'm done modding this thing. Maybe bigger sway bars and window tint....that's about it.
  12. I got a bottle of Torque from my uncle for Christmas. The label looks a little janky so I didn't know what to expect. I saw a YouTube ad for Torque and it piqued my interest. Used it once after washing/Claybar my '79 Lincoln (repaint) and I wasn't all that impressed. Maybe it does better on a more modern clearcoat?
  13. https://www.dragtimes.com/Volvo--S60-Drag-Racing.html?resultpage=2 If I'm looking online, it seems like the S60R does much better from an acceleration standpoint....but S60 AWD's are all mid-15sec cars. If anything, the successful drag Volvo setup is to build the crap out of a FWD T5, which I also saw a lot of through YouTube vids. Again, the AWD is a heavy car for the size. 3700 lbs! I literally just got a response from Rob Hilton @ Hilton Tuning via Messenger: "The stock turbo on this vehicle runs out pretty quickly and the transmission isn't the fastest, so it [my 1/4mi times and speed] sounds ballpark. It is quite a heavy vehicle." LOL...so Rob's comments echo my conclusion: it's doing as best as it can being stock with a tune, but WITHOUT going nuts on bolt-on upgrades. Even if going bigger turbo, better boost tubing/intercooler, etc...I'm just throwing good money after a cheap car whose mods will just open up more problems. I'm sticking with what I told my son last night, that we will just enjoy the car on the road, on 555, trips, etc...and get a faster car in a few years.
  14. I've also been WFH since April, and that includes my 2019 Lincoln MKC company car being turned off (fuel, mileage reimbursement). Out of my 6 cars I've put most of the miles on my '01 Silverado V6, but admittedly that's been focused mostly on NW Columbus with a few errands to Sunbury, New Albany, downtown, etc... Paid-off junk FTW.
  15. That last run made me feel better about my car... It pulls well off the line, just loses it at the top end. Like it's still pulling but not fast enough for a 1/4 mile.
  16. I did cut off the cat. It is not lost on me that a Stage 2, de-catted AWD Turbo car is still running mid-15s. Aside from mechanical issues, The wheels are huge and heavy??? Can unsprung weight affect times like that?
  17. Had a blast at NTR tonight for Test&Tune. Got there when gates opened at 5pm and blasted off some runs. My son had a great time watching. The crowd grew as the night progressed, and it was a beautiful evening. Now, the bad news: she slow. I don’t know HOW MY BUTT DYNO WAS SO OFF. Maybe it’s the rolling boost runs that feel fast?? Off the line, she grips but then hits a limit with the boost/power. Best run, standing on left-foot brake and side-stepping at 2300ish RPMs was a 15.5 @ 89.75MPH. She pulls, but between the power and the lazy automatic, it just won’t go higher without more time/money than I’m willing to invest in it. Thankfully, my son understands; we’ll continue enjoying the Volvo on 555 and around-town, but as he gets older we’ll need to get something faster!
  18. LOL...RockAuto seems to be stuck in the '70s with the 4-pc gasket. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1975,cb300,5.9l+360cid+v8,1078163,engine,oil+pan+gasket,5436
  19. Frost on the inside too? That'll work, Nick!
  20. Since we're OT... Watch especially at the 6 minute mark. Richard Holdener is testing an almost exact copy of my engine ('75 Tradesman van). I've got longtube headers with dual Borla exhaust, no cats. Pretty much the only limit on my RV is the 2BBL, but at 72-74MPH in OD I'm turning 3000rpms...about the max torque at 350+ ft/lbs. It's more responsive at those speeds than lugging around 55-62MPH at low 2000's RPMS. I've put over 3k miles on it since June and the power is very acceptable for the price I paid. I'm never turning more than 3300-3500, so any cost associated with an engine swap - let alone even a 4BBL - is not worth another 20hp/20ft.lbs in my mind. The thing is a 10+ft tall brick...it's not going faster than 75-80mph. It can go faster, but at that point I'm concerned about handling and braking, let alone I'm doing 9MPG at those highway speeds... OR...I'll go 4BBL before I go engine swap.
  21. I did see that from quick online research, especially an A-Body forum: I thought the PCV valve was open but I'll double check. The RV did come with a used Holley Pro-Jection EFI system that was at least 15-20 years old...P.O. installed it for a trip to Alaska and back and he switched back to the 2BBL carb. I sold it...the EFI really isn't adding much power. Plus, the A727 already has a GearVendors OD bolted to the back of it. Good though though, Kerry.
