This thing is bananas....B-A-N-A-N-A-S. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/10/20/2022-gmc-hummer-ev-reveal/ The stats are insane. We are in rarified air, gentlemen...EVs are rightfully taking over and I welcome our new overlords. Will be even better 7-10 years from now when these things are depreciated.

I really am enjoying this series. Only thing that bugs me is Homelander's messed-up inner conflict...he could've been the man if he didn't have such a mommy complex and needs to be someone's bitch all the time. Stormfront is going to become some crazy Darth Vader now? "She's being kept in a secure location"...

I'll tell you who NOT to vote for.... The old guy that calls the other guy names. I keep hearing about things he's done but I don't see it. Seems like the best things he's done for our country are all behind us now. DON'T VOTE FOR THAT GUY. :gabe:

Thank goodness the choice is clear this November: Vote for the 70-something white guy in the suit...the one who has problems with overseas business dealings and women. THAT'S the guy who should be President.

Error occurred....video deleted? EDIT: Just read the article. What a cool story. Also, for all the tired 3g Camaros/Firebirds in our area that are dirt cheap, they look wicked in flat black. Your Hyundai SUV has black wheels? Whatever. Uncorked 170hp '79 Camaro murdered out? Badass.

As I watch it again, I think about how I'll never own a car that goes that fast. Then I'm also thinking about people that spend $100k's, $millions to go kinda that fast... I would legit pay real money to sit in the passenger seat while someone puts on a run like this. Set up the car for my 225-230lbs (dressed ) weight in the pass seat, I'll sign a waiver, and awaaAAAAAAYYYY WE GO...

Thanks for posting...I wouldn't have known this run was being made. Amazing how quickly that thing built up speed...especially over 200mph. And how stable it appeared. Crazy engineering.

Thanks, Rocky...texted Kevan

Anyone recommend a local source to make an aluminum fuel tank? This one is long but I'm documenting the problem for future reference. My 1975 Dodge CB300-based RV has a plastic tank. I believe it's 22gal, as that's what the gauge bottoms out at before I need to fill it up. I'd love to get 26-30gal just to extend the 200-220mile range between fill-ups. Plus, I have to mention that the P.O. ran a Holley Projection EFI kit with a hole in the tank for the fuel pump that he patched up...that is now dripping after I fill it up. :fa: Not safe, and the plastic tank is super old and doesn't look like it can be repaired. Would need removed over the winter anyway to see what my tank options are for 2021. In addition, the current dual exhaust goes over the axle, and the plastic tank has two large coves out of the bottom to clearance the exhaust. I am planning on re-routing the dual 2.5"s to a single outlet, or at least have the duals dump out the sides ahead of the rear wheels to eliminate the over-exhaust piping. Should easily get some additional volume from the fuel tank by eliminating the bump-ins. Figuring a new tank for the 1-ton Dodge chassis is $250+ shipped from websites I've seen, I'm curious how tough it would be to have a local shop make a tank out of the existing tank and it's dimensions as a template, and what the cost is. I cannot imagine there's any internal baffling or complex structure on the factory plastic tank. Plus, the filler neck for the RV body (top-side facing) looks to be in a different location from the 1-ton pickup chassis tank (rear facing)...any possible factory tanks may need modding to make the filler neck work on the RV body. Alternatively, is there a website out there for RV parts, including gas tanks, that I might be able to search for a tank that might work? Thanks as always, CR!

Honestly didn't think of swapping out the living room screen to the basement, and get a better one for there. I use that screen for movie watching...would be nice to have a better picture and possibly sound. We have Samsung smartscreens that are now 5-7 years old. Have been great performers.
-
Thanks a ton for the responses, guys. Wifey found a Samsung 50in UN50TU8000FXZA for less than $400. Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Will definitely be wary of Black Friday. Depends on what/when we get a new one This is the basement TV, for now it will likely see Xbox gaming from my 9-yo son. He's addicted to Forza Horizon. Doesn't need to be 55", can go down or up...although I'll need to double-check how large we can go with the wall-mount bracketry. Thanks for the link...I think we were eyeballing that one as well. It actually goes all green, or striations of different color. Seems like a signal problem, but it happens no matter what the input. It was a free TV doe.
-
CR, throw down...please show me your recommended TVs for a steal on Amazon Prime Day. We have a free 55" TV in our basement that's pretty old, and it's experiencing a motherboard issue that kills the screen after it's been powered up for a bit.

I cannot look at the bottom of the frequency graph without thinking... -
Are you in front of the camera at all on these, Wags?

Agreed. Much better similarity.

Man, I keep forgetting Don Cheadle was in Boogie Nights. -
Congratulations on the show, Wags! Seems like even YouTube isn't enough anymore to develop content and get paid; you really need that streaming service to deliver.

Yup, I maybe log onto Jalopnik 1-2 times a day. It's Torch and David Tracy. Autoblog is a lot better. Will check out The Drive some more.

I didn't see Jack White play on Saturday Night Live last night (was camping with the family). Not knowing most of his song catalog, I have heard some of his stuff and a few friends praise his musicality and songs. Man, I've been jamming to this song. It's got a great RHCP vibe to the melody and I like the changes throughout. Good stuff. Thought CR might like it as well.

I'm a fan of my Volvo S60 for all of the things Brian said except for the dumb 5-speed Aisin auto. Amazing packaging for a small-ish sedan (great interior room and huge trunk) and comfy, premium interior with AWD and a great safety record. It's really well-engineered. You know what else is really well-engineered? BMW 535. I'd try to find an unmolested one with a stick and get that. The aftermarket has both figured out how to DIY the problem areas for maintenance, as well as how to hop them up to be street monsters. I would bet a 5-7year-newer 535 would be not much more than a good S60R for the same price if not slightly more. DON'T GET AWD. Just get some snow tires and you'll be fine. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/812162413/overview/?aff=atempest&cmp=atempest&utm_source=AutoTempest&utm_medium=TRP&utm_campaign=atempest

JP, would be interested in seeing some more pics of the paint job work, any interior/exterior/engine shots. Douglas tires? Had to google those...they are in my price range. -

I see it now on my computer. Good idea to try.
