Do you know when conversation stops being entertaining? When it's boring. If someone invited you to a dinner party, and you go on an extra 2 hours about a topic the rest of the guests didn't want to talk about, would you walk out of that party feeling like the night was a rousing success, just because you entertained yourself? Would you think the other guests' felt the same way? Moreover, if so many people in a group had negative feelings on your comments - whether it's the length of your responses or the tenor of your arguments - ultimately is it their fault...or yours? You say you should not take the internet seriously. A better man enjoys the freedom the internet/forums/social media provides, but still makes respectful commentary. Unless - again - you don't care about the effects or outcome of your comments.

Great posts by JP and Ben above. I also enjoy that "old school" neighborhood feeling that escapes my friends in newer areas behind strip malls and major roads; I'm outside wrenching/yardwork and my kids can play in the neighborhood...and the neighborhood RESPECTS it. People slow down. My kids interact with older neighbors and I make them show manners and respect in a way you don't get playing on an iPad in the basement of your Powell M/I build. So many benefits, including $5-10 Uber rides to some of the best bars/restaurants in town. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Tilley, PP's right...not busting your balls. Plus, I'm surprised by your last post regarding how nice condo life was. Ashley's expecting...curious if you want to have a similar neighborhood experience? I've been active on the board for a long time, and wear my opinions/emotions on my sleeve. I wish everyone all the best in their decisions...just providing my observations! -
People, you're not going to win an argument - especially online - with Kerry. His opinions are not only strong, but are well-thought out (by his basis of belief). My best suggestion is to either not acknowledge his post, or agree/disagree with him and move on. He WANTS to engage people, but as I've told him many times before, he doesn't know when to stop or to what end the argument is serving. Note that I have not formed an opinion of the late Justice Scalia...or to be frank, I've formed an opinion and would rather not share it in a Kerry thread.

Thanks, Jordan. As a car guy, he's a little better in person. Definitely a savant with historical car knowledge, and passionate. That resonates with me, which is why I consider him a friend. However, he's a total a$$hole online and in group chats. Gentlemen, I remember past beef I've had with PP...we've all seen guys scrap from time to time on CR. Let's try to remember that winter is a TOUGH TIME for us car guys. Once the temp warms up, we're all outside and wrenching...things get a whole lot better.

LOL@ the taxes comment. Sounds like someone who bought in Pickerington, Reynoldsburg/Pataskala, Grove City, or any other cookie-cutter neighborhood over the last 10 years. I appreciate the want to have land, but all of that coming development is going to require taxes to support the infrastructure. Millage used to be highest in Bexley and UA for sure, I pay $8k a year for .43ac...but now you see Pickerington, Olentangy, Dublin, NewAlbs needing to up taxes every election year for that 2nd, 3rd, 4th high school...and it's STILL a 30-min drive to anything worthwhile. Not trying to be all "rah-rah UA", but with the amazing development going on downtown - and schools available in Grandview, UA... not sure if the allure of buying land will be strong a few years in. -
FiL bought a Nissan Pathfinder from Jordan as a winter beater to keep salt off his '15 Corvette. He really likes the truck, and hasn't had hardly any problems aside from needing new tires...but it was a great deal. (For PP, sub-$12k for a $15k loaded, 7-passenger Pathfinder) +2 for Jordan.

If we have someone intadested in the house, should they contact you directly? Longshot, but I'm talking with a BofA partner that's moving to C'Bus from NC...they're not sure where they want to end up but were in a similar neighborhood (and pricepoint) in Charlotte... -
Will it make you guys feel better that I'm having naughty thoughts about this 911 Turbo X50 up at Toy Barn? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-Turbo-X50-Ca-/221977309584?forcerrptr=true&hash=item33aee0f190:g:M3YAAOSwNyFWfMjN&item=221977309584

http://jalopnik.com/its-hard-to-argue-with-this-vw-t1-revival-concept-1758962158 Fuck your SUV's, fuck your CUV's...vans (even mini ones) are where it's at for family hauling. Too bad this bish ain't EVER going to be real. If VW made this chock-full-o-character van, I'd drop my Odyssey and rock this for the next 40 years. Viva la old skool.

I LOVE Roadkill, and was OK with Hot Rod Garage under Tony Angelo... ...but I love this new season. Lucky and Tony's banter makes me laff. A $5000 dirty-shit hot rod tickles all of my fancies, BTW.

Looking forward to seeing progress on the EF hatch! Sorry for the loss of the Integra...glad you're staying in the game.

Kerry = Don Quixote. I wish that I could say he pokes at bears for a personally-enjoyable troll effect...the guy is on a one-man crusade to open dialogue and change the world, but he lost his horse a long time ago. You should never attack the dissenting opinion in order to gain higher ground in an argument unless you know what you're talking about. At the end of the day, you're still spouting off on academic thought or personal opinion just as many of us are on CR. Not sure what you think you'll accomplish for all of your wasted time. Know your audience... -
Getting to their shop is easy...it's the getting OUT part that's more than funky.

Indeed. I can't find a 2-piece (used behind the 4-speed in 70's/80's F-250 longbed configurations) driveshaft within 200 miles of here... That's a good call. It would, but the cost of the tranny, converting the link-clutch to a hydraulic setup, new speedo cable, new driveshaft...easily worth more than the truck. When I thought of this option, I quickly resorted to just rebuilding the 3-speed. I think I did make a similar thread...but it's definitely feeling like now I need to do something. Pinion angle will be fixed with some "new" used springs for the rear.

Firestone Winterforce tires on the stock rims...all the traction you need in cold weather. ....until that On3 kit.

My '82 Ford F100 has the "RAT 3.03" 3-speed manual behind the 300ci inline-6, and I've enjoyed driving the thing around for the last few years. However, after dropping the suspension front and rear (without correcting the pinion angle) I went from eating up both U-joints to now turning the transmission into a rock-tumbler. It still rolls fine, but at LEAST the input/output shaft bearings need replaced, and in 3rd gear it sounds terrible while transmitting a lot of progressively-worse gear noise through the floor shifter at highway speeds. I put Firestone Winterforce tires on it so it's been my local, winter-DD with great results. I do want to keep this thing running. When I got the truck a few years ago, it came with a Ford T18 (heavy-duty 4-speed non-OD with a granny-gear low) in the bed that I had checked over up at MD Transmissions in Delaware. It is in great shape...BUT, the output is a fixed yoke. The '82 3-speed uses a one-piece, slip yoke. I tried selling the T18 since it sits in my garage, and I have to say it is the only item that Craigslist doesn't want to buy or trade for. CR, do I 1) Pay to have the 3-speed rebuilt for around $300-400 (or just get a rebuild kit for $125 and try to rebuild it myself) in my tee-ruk...or 2) Try to find and rebuild a 2-piece rear driveshaft ($100-$250) and bolt in a transmission I haven't had experience with before? Technical help welcomed. Thanks in advance!

If I see that thing at CC&C (Cup O'Joe) with center caps on I'll buy you a coffee and your son a cookie.
