  1. Thanks for the feedback, guys. He's also coming up with other designs. - Front Y-pipes are less than an inch difference in length - 47mm = 1.85" I.D. - Not yet. Good call though...
  2. My friend is making all-titanium exhausts for Harley's...starting with his own Forty-Eight. Looking for thoughts/opinions on style. The big option will be a variable flow valve to control sound, but for now this first system is a standard, loud exhaust system. This shows Stainless steel shields, but there will be an option for Ti ones as well. http://i.imgur.com/LXlqExb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2mlwZwX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XXdXyXa.jpg?1 (blocked out the brand name he's going with. )
  3. Saw that vid. Amazing that the bridge wasn't damaged more. That dashcam car literally missed getting hit by a couple of seconds. 30+ people dead?
  4. Did Stevie Wonder install that front license plate? Love the 911!:thumbup:
  5. Scarier thought still is the pending China economic "adjustment" that's forecast to come at some point...will certainly reverberate in other markets (U.S. included)...
  6. Since being at the first Cayman launch party in Naples back in 2005 ("What is with you people? It's a fucking hardtop Boxster!!1!1") I've struggled to see the relevance from a performance standpoint. Seriously, people paid more to have a not-that-much-stiffer chassis on a hardtop Boxster. I still hate the 1st-gen Cayman with a passion; fucking poverty 911-wannabe. Mazda never made a Miata coupe, and it sold well. I guess BMW did the clown-show Z3/Z4 but still, fuck the 1st-gen Cayman. However, I will be the first to admit the last (2nd?) generation really started to seperate itself as it's own car aside from the Boxster. Now, this GT4 is a HELL of a car. Props to Porsche for making some seriously lustworthy cars these days. I would own a 911 - any 911 - first before I bought a Cayman, but I respect anyone that buys this thing.
  7. If the Gremmie has a SBC in it already, what's wrong from a boosted LSx from a size perspective? Factory turbocharging be damned, the aftermarket support for boosting an LSx is tough to ignore.
  8. A-HA-HA-HA-A-HA Kale killing it with the jpegs
  9. Big thanks to Ryan for getting me some virgin pieces of metal that were throwaway from the shop floor. He also threw in some TIG gloves that are softer than my golf set. Thank you, man!
  10. +1 with Ryan. When you have a ridic low-pro tire with that much camber, I think it looks stupid. Get some sidewall so at least you've still got a bit of contact patch on the road. LOL. DungBeetle FTW.
  11. Ferrari 458 Notta-So-Speciale LOL :gabe:
  12. You say reliability and cost are factors...but what's a great 650hp mill on the (relatively) cheap if it's an arm and a leg to get it to mount in a chassis? What's the vehicular platform that is receiving this turbocharged engine? What's the transmission?
  13. http://jalopnik.com/2016-ferrari-488-gtb-this-is-it-1683354918 Fuck me....THAT'S a gorgeous car.
  14. Impressive how compact the VR6 engine is, especially when it's sitting in a space meant for a 1.5L 4... Very cool swap. Great to see you making progress so quickly. It definitely seems like the Eurowise kit - while not cheap - saves you at least a month or so by taking the guesswork out of seating the engine properly and connecting the powertrain. That's time value of money for your life far beyond the cost of the kit!
  15. I actually found myself asking if he ever considered a bicycle...something cheap that had great traction. If he's got a house and a solid factory job there shouldn't be an issue keeping it locked for security on either side of the trek. My younger brother suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and this is the sort of thing he would do. I'm not as negative as Bob but if he's committing this time to walk there is a SUBSTANTIAL amount of his time he'd retain (still along with his independence and his life health from a workout standard) by riding a bike. TIL: 1) Talk to your friend who is a staff reporter for a local newspaper/blog. 2) Show pictures of me walking along High Street. 3) Get friends to lie about not knowing me, but seeing me walk everyday for the last few years. 4) Get a company to vouch for me walking everyday to and from my $10/hr job. 5) Post that shit on a crowdfunding site. 6) Make $108k. Give friends who helped me a couple grand each. I'd never do it, but there have been a few stories recently that make me unfortunately skeptical about "news" like this that's been proven false (L.I. teen that claimed to make $70MM in the stock market, "Balloon Boy", etc...) just to get attention. Props to this man for sure, but our society has fallen far from grace, no matter how much a crowd-funding site raises. KONY 2015

    CR Cooks

Jesus Christ...this thread is FOOD PORN
  17. I'll clarify: The cars here will have some semblence of high-speed control (instead of ladder bars and a parachute to cover the 1/4-mi course), will look good, and can take turns. Get Larson or Jeff Lutz out there to do some damage and I'll make the re-association with "traditional" drag racing.
  18. Holy shit...233 in the half mile. That Gallardo was marginally skating all the way down the runway. <<<Not a drag-racer, but IMHO this is the new standard for "fast" over a 1/4 drag strip.
  19. Half of CR will complain that the p0rn screen is too "shaky" on the Apple Watch. :masturboy:
  20. I left a VM with them regarding "Kiddie Karts". That would be fun to have some sub-8 year olds out to do some racing. I'll let CR dads know what sort of info I get.
  21. To Jon's point, the SL2 manual transmission utilized a planetary gearset that made it really durable...I remember watching "Extreme 4X4" years ago and there was an offroad buggy that used the SL2 engine/transmission longitudinally-mounted as a transaxle to send power front and rear. The guy remarked that in a few dozen applications with heavy rock-climbing and off-roading, the transmission has never been a breaking point.
  22. Personally, I would've liked to see some interior shots, but I see an A/C compressor under the hood which is a good sign. Looks to be a great car.
