I'm tearing up a bit at the honesty around what's spent on the E36, and you're still not competitive. It's a tough hobby but I do love seeing guys that throw themselves into it. -
I saw it at CC&C a few weeks ago as well. Great car. I don't see the pic in your second post...but I remember what it looks like

Miss you, mang.

She's still DeWine's health advisor...just no longer director. I don't think she's running from any blame, just had a hell of a rollercoaster ride and wants to let someone else have the fun.

I ordered a Volvo sport-option front lip for my S60 back on April 29th, thinking it would make it to OH well in time for my son's b-day on June 17th. It still hasn't showed up. I also bought a VIDA/DICE cable and tune computer for the Volvo from China at the beginning of May...also still not here yet. Lastly, hub-centric rings for the Camaro SS wheels on the Odyssey thru Amazon shipped from UK...over 4 weeks now. Trying to get some projects done during warm weather and quarantine...is it normal for international shipping (probably economy) to take 6 weeks or more?

Great use of the quicklatches for the body kit. I’m stoked to see that paint in the sun and in person!

Mace, if a cop walks up on the felon now and he’s got a gun, there’s still going to be a “Ride or die” shootout. You can give the cop an AR and Chigurh is still going to Chigurh.

RELEVANT TO THIS DISCUSSION. Not suggesting that everyone protesting is sharing the same agenda...but unless you want to truly fight the protesters, you'd better understand the social structure we're all living under.

When I lived in Naples from '05-'08, I was proud of my '95 Corvette. I was working for Fifth Third at the time and we had a 5-story parking garage on the back of our 8-story office building. It was HUGE because the sun didn't beat down on your prized ride all day, errrday, and protected it from frequent afternoon storms in the spring/summer. Because the drainage is so terrible in FL due to the water table being so high, every Tropical Storm or Hurricane hit (and there were many during those 3 years), there would be a bunch of cars that parked on the 2nd floor by the building side as a wind/rain/debris shield. My wife followed me to the garage in her Passat, I'd park/lock the Vette and we'd drive home to sit out the storm. We only evacuated once or twice, with the worst storm being Wilma in 2005, where we had no power all the way through Halloween. I wish I took more pictures because it was like a car show; every Corvette/Porsche/classic/etc that employees loved was parked where we didn't have the garage space, or were fearful of flooding. We'd talk about it before and after storms. I only had my home garage flood once, but that was all it took for me to park the C4 at work. tl;dr = the struggle is real for car guys when tropical storms hit low-lying areas.

Thanks guys. I ordered a generator to power the RV and A/C when we’re on the road...but really need to figure out the engine-driven A/C system. -

Drive to Mansfield went great today. Beautiful weather! Took this shot outside JB's Drive-In near Lexington on our way home. Here's my little guy riding shotgun. It was cute seeing him look out the window and it was nice for my wife and kids to easily interact with him from back in the living area. This is the back entrance, kitchenette is to the left: propane stove and cooktop, dual-basin sink and microwave. To the right is the propane fridge/freezer with the propane furnace for the RV mounted underneath. This is passenger seat looking back. My older kids are sitting in the dinette, which folds down to a bed with the table lowered. To the right is the bathroom (head? Do we use nautical terms?) with shower, flush toilet and sink. Legs in the back is my wife on the sideways-facing couch. Also folds down into a bed. Note that the dinette where my kids are also has 4 lap seatbelts. Total belt provision is for 6 people. Bathroom is '70s golden-poop-brown, but very clean. Back by my wife looking forward, with the foam mattress for two. We just got new sheets. I should note that we got home from Mansfield around 3:30. I plugged in the RV to the house with a 110v extension cord to run the A/C and my wife, baby, and kids have been out there since. Only problems with driving an RV like this (non-diesel, OLD) is that I don't have a tach but the engine sounds like it's buzzing pretty badly. The GearVendors OD unit is a godsend...once on the highway from an on-ramp around 60mph and the 360 screaming, I hit the floor dimmer-switch and it snaps into OD. I cannot imagine how people cruise in older RVs without overdrive. Even at 63-68mph - the upper end of what I felt comfortable doing on dry-rotted tires and no tach - I'm the slowest vehicle on I-71. -

PO had it parked behind his house, under some seedling trees and honeysuckle bushes. Basically covered most of it up from sun exposure, and there was a good amount of algae. I used Dawn and gave it a good scrub and light power-washing. It got too dark for pics, but looks much better. My MiL is an awesome seamstress and rocked out new curtains and cushion covers overnight that update the interior AMAZINGLY (still woody '70s but muted earth tones instead of the crazy patterns before). Plus, it smelled fine before, a bit old-people musty....but now it's much, much better. We're going towards CLE to meet my parents for a lunch and let them hang out with the kids, and this will be a good shakedown run. I know this is Columbus RACING but with 3 kids, I'm having a blast fixing up this long-held older truck to something pretty special, and my wife and kids' excitement is infectious. I filled up the 26gal tank this afternoon and my daughter lept in the passenger seat with a huge grin on her face for the ride. It's got ceramic longtube headers and Borla SS dual mufflers so when I get on the gas (even with a 2bbl carb) it sounds rowdy and we both laughed. I take pride in whatever I buy and have fun driving it...I work harder for more out of my life, but really find joy in simpler automobiles: fixing little things and getting them to run/drive better than I found them. Hoping this thing holds up well tomorrow! -

Yeeeeaaahhh...dry-rotted bias-ply tires on 16.5” wheels ain’t gonna cut it. I’ve reached the upper limit of my jacks and impact gun. Props to All-City Auto Parts. They had 4 dually and 3 fronts (1 spare) for the RV in 16”. Now I have a lot more choices in Load E radial tires! -

I maintain excellent politics with my neighbors. Although, aside from the Odyssey and Volvo S60 in the garage, this motley crue of 4 cars looks like the residents at this house are up to no good. -
Holley Pro-Jection EFI kit - re-install or sell?
zeitgeist57 replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Tech and Tips
Thanks, guys. Apparently this is an early pre-O2 EFI closed-loop system that allows you to twist 5 knobs on-the-fly for power/efficiency tuning. I'm not too concerned with fuel costs when gas is sub-$2.00/gal and the RV's already paid for. We aren't planning on going out west...yet. But if you told me it would help with more power for elevation changes, then I'm all for it. Clearly that's what he was thinking when he installed the GearVendors OD and Pro-Jection EFI for the mountains out west going to AK. I'll hold onto it and futz with it after our trip to FL next month. The PO gave me intake gaskets and a spread-bore intake manifold to swap the system right on... -

Sorry for lack of pics...I was with the seller for over 2 hours just going over everything. He's a retired C'Bus fireman, and he had booklets and notes for everything. This RV is now a part of me and I've only put 15 miles on it. He's my kind of guy, though...cutting the front license plate recess in the bumper for a trans cooler and LOOK DAT JCWHITNEY CHIN SPOILER... It's right there...between the Lincoln and the truck. You can't see it? It'S rIgHt ThErE. More pics to come when I wash it tomorrow. -
The previous owner of the '75 Dodge RV I just bought gave me a nearly-new Holley Pro-Jection EFI kit (p/n 502-1) that he installed on the Chrysler 360 back in 1993. He drove the RV to Alaska and back, and while he loved the power and responsiveness but he didn't like the fuel economy reduction....apparently the 2bbl carb he had was slightly down on power but had better MPG. He pulled it all off and put it back in the box. I've now got it in the shed, and visually everything looks to be in good condition. Is it worth reinstalling back on the V8? I'm not inclined to reinstall old '90s technology that doesn't have a solid backing but the whole kit, with everything included (even books/instructions) for free is enticing. Curious if anyone runs this system or has experience with it in the past. Thanks!

Welp...since starting a family 12 years ago, my wife and I had talked about getting an RV, as I'm sure every family does. Going out west, living our best life, #YOLO blah blah blah. Of course, everytime I'd see friends rent an RV, or someone had one, I'd start researching and feverishly go quickly down the rabbit hole until I'm seeing Prevost diesel pushers with 3 slide-outs. Last summer, we did have a college reunion at a fraternity brothers' farm in NY, and we used RVShare.com to rent a trailer. We had a wonderful time, and felt committed to do something (trailer/RV) in the near future but with no real plans. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129580&highlight=rvshare Fast forward to the last month or so through COVID-19...with me being WFH, and most summer sports/events being cancelled, my wife and I discussed the annual family trip to FL. Since I can't meet clients or go to an office, I can drive down with wife/kids instead of flying. Why not stay down there the whole time? In fact, if we're driving, let's bring the bunnies and make an adventure of it! LET'S RENT AN RV! Some friends have been 1-800-GO-RVing for the last 2-3 years, and I'd ask about prices. Expect, with mileage, to spend $4k a month for a 5-passenger Class C RV. I go online, and I'm not even finding anything in inventory for rent. I hit up a CR member who I know has an RV, and he had sold it...but quickly sent a couple of CL ads for Class C RVs for sale. I had already been looking for some sub-$7500 RVs just for funsies, but with Wifey-approval, shit got real, real quick. 1975 Rockwood RoadKing 2002. Built on a Dodge Sportsman B200 chassis. Same owner since 1980, guy lived less than 1.5 miles from my house. 360ci V8, A727 Torqueflite, dually rear. PO is the nicest guy, knows every bolt and nut, and it was very clean with full maintenance manuals, and every manual, brochure, and instruction book. It's old but in a classic, well-maintained standpoint. It has a ton of upgrades including big sway bars front and rear, and a GearVendors OD unit. Even has a Holley Pro-Jection kit in the box I got...will post a thread about whether I should put it on or just sell it? 2bbl carb runs great. Wife and kids are super excited to take it to FL next month. We're going to do a shorter trip to Mansfield to stretch it out and make sure systems are good. Only problem I have is the engine A/C stopped working (all intact but the sight window on the drier is showing bubbles. Main RV A/C works great, as do all the appliances) and the rear bias-ply tires are dry-rotted. Got a bunch of extra parts as well. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up on the outside, wife and kids are looking at "RV projects" on the inside. Pics and updates to come!

http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130261&highlight=Lennox Guys, check the above. While we are OFFICIALLY not meeting as "Cars and Coffee" these warm Saturdays upon us, there are still guys showing up in the parking lot. I only hope that people will try to be responsible; I was there for a bit and the f**king AMMO Chrysler guys were tearing out of the lot.

Post to follow...after the sale goes down in a couple hours.

Thanks, Craig. I saw this video late last night, may get the R-134a tools from HF as Noebull politely said they're not touching this job. I hit up Vintage Air, just to understand my options. I'm sure it'll be a $1500 kit but they were very helpful last year when I was fixing my Lincoln.
