That's a clever use of cutouts already in the hood. With a radiator/nose canted forward instead of backward, wouldn't that have a lifting effect on the front end at speed? Or will managing the volume of air through the radiator through those hood vents turn all that airflow into downforce over the front end?

That's the biggest impact on COVID-19...most industries are affected. You can't go from say retail sales to being a bartender or waitress in an economic downturn. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-avenue/2020/03/31/when-will-your-city-feel-the-fiscal-impact-of-covid-19/ Starting to see Fauci and other gov't officials talking more about softening the quarantine where possible. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-13/n-y-deaths-top-9-000-harbin-tightens-measures-virus-update WHO is touting work on vaccines. Scroll down the Bloomberg article for regional/international updates.

Wags, great reminder and well put: in the age of 24-hour news cycle, with an insatiable hunger for content, the media will spin what hastily-gathered facts they have together into whatever sells ads the fastest. It’s refreshing to see articles that clearly have timelines and quotes from numerous sources (things that take time) because the perspective can be refreshing. The other thing making the news negative: people WANT to know that the situation outside is dire, to justify the fact that they are stuck at home for another 1.5 months!!

Congrats to your coworker...but it's not necessarily the fact that he got along fine with covid-19; the bigger concern is that he transmits it to others. https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/investigations/2020/04/09/instead-prepping-coronavirus-trump-partied-golfed-held-fundraisers/2941076001/

My bank extended a halt for all internal/external meetings from May 1st...now it's May 31st.

If you want a date, I'll be happy waiting until the end of May and then hopefully the weight of getting back to work more clearly outweighs the need to shelter-in-place. Any longer on the quarantine and I'll understand....but complain as well.

Sorry if I sound frustrated...I'm working with clients on their 940s, 941s, W-3s to remedy exception errors from their SBA applications for PPP. The gubmint is flying a plane that's still being built.
-
Everyone make way for Tim...he's hopped up on Hydroxychloroquine restarting the economy by calling on clients that are still shut down.

Tim, picking a date is a dumb comment. You're not accelerating progress...just increasing the risk of more damage by telegraphing an artificial "all-clear" for the wrong reasons. We all want/NEED to get back to work, but if social distancing will flatten the infection/death curve then I'll maintain faith in our state/local leadership. Anyone of you that suggests/acts differently risks your life and others, plain and simple. Yes, we're not going to eliminate the total risks but I've got a baby and elderly family members I'm thinking about. In the near future (hopefully shorter than the 12-18 months we're being told), we'll have a vaccine for this like we do for flu/shingles/etc...I'm just hoping we get effective treatments to bridge the gap between now and when we've developed a solution to live with this virus. Again, WE have to trust our leadership on timing when it's safe to go out. I've been very encouraged by how Ohio has managed this process and will continue to listen. All the "pandemic experts" in this thread...please sit down.

https://jalopnik.com/i-ordered-a-brand-new-chinese-900-ev-online-1842363027 Living in UA, I've been on the hunt for a NEV that seats 4 that can get us around for fun. I showed my wife this article saying that the shipped cost with batteries is around $1800. We both love the idea, especially how hilarious this thing looks. I'm going to keep an eye on what Torch thinks but seriously may look into this as a 0-fks-gvn runabout. My neighbor has a EZ-GO lifted golf cart with a rear facing seat, roof, rain curtains, etc...paid over $5k for it used and had to replace batteries. Fuck that noise.

Thats a clever use of those stone tiles. I dig it.

Tucker lost me at 1:00 mark. His banner message at the bottom - "We're Making Decisions Based On Limited Data" - means he shouldn't be questioning the quarantine as he doesn't have a better solution. He's a bad op-ed actor and his comments should not be misconstrued as news or expert advice...yet many people - including Trump - are thinking too much on his commentary. He discusses the prolonged economic damage of the quarantine, and questions both it's effectiveness and suggests targeted quarantining. I can't help but think if a Democratic President was at the helm of this pandemic, and the markets were tanking, Tucker's narrative would be geared towards shaming anyone that suggested going back to work, as it would expose Americans to deadly risks.

I am PROUD of the job DeWine and his team is doing for Ohio. Are you truly PROUD of the way Trump is handling this situation? Rallying the troops? Uniting a nation? DeWine said to shelter in place on 3/12, I've been WFH, and enjoying a beautiful spring explosion in Ohio as we awake from winter, and I'm spending time with my family. I feel for friends/family in other lines of business (especially bar/restaurants) and help where I can. Trump tells us malaria drugs might help. What the f**k am I supposed to do with that information? How are the overburdened medical professionals doing??
-
Brandon, if Trump acted like the leader he espouses to be, I'd have more respect for him. Simple as that. However, every briefing I've watched - and we watch every OH and WH briefing in my household - displays a cohesive team of experts rallying around a good leader (OH) and then a self-serving narcissist who can't give up the podium to social/medical experts without stomping on their guidance with his own whims (WH). I look at data every. day. of. my. life...you cannot brag about how great the country is doing under your "leadership" on the way up if you're going to deflect, ignore, and attack everyone around you on the way down. This is a very tough situation for any President to inherit, for sure. But unlike 9/11, we see the attack happening on every other developed country across the globe as well. With every Coronavirus region at an international, national, and state/local level, we can see where leadership is on display....and where mismanagement and ineptitude slow the pace of progress elsewhere. Have you started taking Hydroxychloroquine? Trump said it was safe....

That was really awesome. I showed my wife. My son’s 9th birthday is June 17th and I’m hoping FIRST that the quarantine may be eased by then, but if not then I may get on FB to ask for something similar.

Congratulations on making a great day for your son! Looks like you were just as excited as he was.

Well done, Brian!

New Unemployment Claims: - 6.6 MILLION this week - 10MM 2-week total - 695k prior 1-week record. The unemployment rate in Feb-19 was 3.5% with 5 million people looking for work and counted as unemployed. The 10MM new jobless claims implies the unemployment rate has tripled to 10.5%. 10MM likely understates magnitude of the slowdown for a number of reasons. During the Great Recession the unemployment rate peaked at 10%. We got there in less than a month. #winning

Good info. I've used Corroseal in the past but that goes on milky to convert the rust. That coating looks to be some serious stuff. I'm assuming he's painting on POR-15 over that on the frame and wherever it's not being painted. Yes, I started watching it with a beverage last night. Check out his pinned comment below the vid...sounds like the Range was his uncles, who had it since new and took meticulous care of it (aside from how the body has held up to sea breeze). I have an '04 Cavalier at our condo as a cheap beach car. We're pretty close to the Gulf of Mexico, and the westerly breeze carries a lot of salt in the air. It's amazing how much the body and brake/fuel lines have gained significant amount of rust in the last 3 years. This Range Rover has rust under a couple layers of pinch welds...not surprising to see the body in good shape but all the crevasses having serious rust issues.

I cannot imagine how much more time went into staging, filming and editing something like this, but combined with the super chill video this is one of the best videos i've seen. Very satisfying. What is the silver schmear he puts on all the raw metal after working on it? Primer or some thicker sealant?

Loving this truck and your updates, Randy. Very cool!

As I read in Bloomberg this week, which is applicable to this CR thread: "Will all the bench Coronavirus experts please sit down?" :gabe:

Coolness. I'm sure camera mic and computer speakers can't give us a true sound profile of that thing.
