  2. KUDOS FOR EVERYONE http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTenw5epSj46D-lkfL24V7dEh124JM-ilD9f4rG5ci8bed9BrhI
  3. Love your article, but punctuation is your friend! My input on the first two paragraphs: Every day, we’re surrounded by some type of vehicle that runs on diesel. You could be driving next to an eighteen-wheeler on the freeway, box truck on a city street, or a freight train on the tracks hauling cargo. In the racing world, we’re used to seeing something diesel powered hauling a car to the track. For some racers, diesel is for getting there...and for racing. The National Hot Rod Diesel Association (NHRDA) is a sanctioning body that boasts diesel-powered drag racing. They’re set up much like the NHRA, with divisions and national events. Their organization provides several classes for people to compete in, and the gnarliest of them all is the Top Diesel class. Top Diesel is a class of coal-rolling insanity that is ‘run what you brung and hope that you brung enough.’ Just a few extra colons and hyphens to break up your great writing, Wags...
  4. I know the news has been dominated by Sandy, but this is a HUGE business deal in my book... http://www.deadline.com/2012/10/disney-acquires-lucasfilm-star-wars-creator/ I will be very interested to see what Disney does with the Star Wars franchise. No doubt merchandising and amusement park $$$ to come...

  7. In Pittsburgh for business...couldn't help but love my dirty, worn Passat for getting me through some hairy early-morning weather with no issues. Stepped out at a Pilot station for fuel and coffee...holy crap the weather sucked! Amazing how comfy I am when making the 3-hour drive... As car guys, we all want the next big car or big car mod, but I have to take the time to show my respect for a good DD, and the thankless job it does day-in and day-out. That is all.
  8. 95 posts in 11 years...that's fuggin' impressive!!!
  9. If I want to beat D.Wiggs' Lambo, all I need to do is type about it on multiple online car forums.

  13. As if I didn't already enjoy the first two, this one has Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley (I don't need IMDB to know that's them in this trailer). Will watch it....when it makes its way to the indartwebz.
  14. Awesome, Brent! Definitely a sleeper when it's finished...looking forward to seeing it done!

  16. If UK TV allows Fuck and Shit to be said during the broadcast...what could they POSSIBLY be bleeping out??? Love the show. Looking at Israel, South Korea and other countries, I wonder if mandatory military service wouldn't hurt to develop each generation...
  17. Wow, that Teggy is fuggin' CLEAN... Welcome to the site!
  18. Well, I spoke to a couple peeps - as well as my wife - and I'm reminded of everything that's going on in my life. Combined with the amount of work this needs to get going, I'm listing it for sale for the guy. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107572 Thanks for dealing with my continual car conundrum, CR!
  19. Guy doing glasswork at my house last week has a hot rod project he's looking to unload, as he's breaking out on his own to start a company, needs a truck/van. We got to talking: GOOD: Former drag race car on '27 Ford frame TOTALLY NEW FRAME (old '27 was too rusted to save) - custom built '50s-era fiberglass body ('24 style) in OK shape - needs work Dropped front axle, transverse leaf spring with trailing radius arms F/R. '38 Ford "Banjo" rear axle - 3.79 rear gear '38 Ford front/rear drum brakes with 4 "wide-five" steelies New BFGoodrich repop whitewalls all 4 corners '65 283 V8 with tripower carbs, "Corvette" script finned valve covers '50s T-5 manual transmission Many new parts: Vega-style steering box Wilwood clutch/brake reservoir/pedal setup Hot Rod aluminum radiator set up for SBC Spun-aluminum fuel tank w/ brackets http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=6658 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=6659 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=6661 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=6660 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=6662 BAD: Engine needs rebuilt. Turns over but hasn't run in years. No driveshaft, exhaust. Fuel/brake/electrical lines all need done '27 Ford windshield frame, cracked glass No interior, body needs stiffening. NO TITLE. Bill of sale only 4x4 ride height Needs to be put together (is sitting on stands in his garage, needs sorted). I really would love to drive something like this but the time to finish it is definitely more than I can handle with all the other irons I have in my FIRE!!! He's looking to get $4,000 for it. PM me and I'll pass your contact info along to the owner... EDIT: He's also starting his own handyman business, so he's desperately looking for a reliable white panel van (Astro, Ford E-series, Chevy Express) as a partial/full trade...
  20. Yeah...it's a pile of parts that I'm not familiar with (suspension, brakes, drivetrain). It's definitely out of my comfort zone.
  21. Met the guy last night, negotiated a very low price, since he has a bunch more parts I don't want. (Model T 4cyl flathead engine/trans, steering wheels, other wheels and vintage parts I'd never use). If I can get it driving, I'd either flip it or keep it as a cruiser. The price is so low that even with about $1k more in parts I should be able to get a good price for it on the used market. No trades for my truck. My bad...FIL still hasn't bought a new Corvette. Papaw's 'Vette is not in play yet.
  22. http://www.columbuscarsandcoffee.net 8am to 12pm - Cup O'Joe, Lennox Town Center NO OSU HOME GAME!!!! - TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
  23. If there is no rust, it's mostly original condition or with an older, quality resto, and has all original trim pieces (interior and exterior), I'd say $6-$8k range.
