  1. Hey, Tim (and others)... I'm working on the new Cars and Coffee site...more to come on that. FWIW, I'm going to try to set up sections for all the photogs to have their own upload channel for their own pics. That way, I'm no longer a bottleneck in getting them onto CC&C.net. Of course, if I don't like a shot (like cars I'm jelly that I don't own! ) I'll pull them...no pr0n, plz!
  2. Hmmm...looking into rebuilding the riding lawnmower now. I was always ticked off how Craftsman has the lock on their parts (expensive as sh!t), but looks like AYP has a lot of the spindles and bearings used on old Craftsman mowers. AHA! http://www.outdoordistributors.com < < < another good site for reference.
  3. In line with my thread, I had a heck of a time finding any boneyards by "modern" search standards...good luck and please respond if you find any place that's good!

http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/rr133/probin007/DSC_2735.jpg If this shot doesn't sell you (taken 3/17/12 at Cars and Coffee)...I don't know what will.
  5. Was talking at CC&C about this. Let's meet at 7:30
  6. Thanks, Ryan! Site is updated with cruise info from Easton. I've been a weather nut all my life...this is a weak disturbance of unstable air over us. It's creeping to the east. I'll bet Friday will be dicey but Saturday will be fine, especially in the morning.
  7. I can't see YouToob at work. Probably a good thing.
  8. Thanks, guys! I'll just leave it dry for now.
  9. Clear silicone won't burn off? I was thinking of smearing on a band of RTV and letting it sit to tack a bit before bolting it on...
  10. I'm hoping this weekend I can get a couple of guys to help me install my engine/transmission in the Ford. Here's all that's needed... 1) Get engine/tranny bolted in 2) install PS Pump, lines, reconnect wiring, 3) reconnect clutch linkage 4) Fluids 5) Bolt on Y-pipe 6) Break-in cam for 30min. Beer/Pizza will be provided. Given good weather, I would hope to meet people after Cars and Coffee. PM me if you've got a few hours on Saturday. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the fast response, Steve!
  12. Guys, for my FOrd 4.9L six (300ci)...do these ball-type exhaust flanges need any sort of gasket, or do they cinch right down on the rounded exhaust manifold? Could I use hi-temp RTV sealant to ensure a seal? Thanks! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=5918
  13. OH, TEH SHIT GETS DEEPER... http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=5917

    HRPT 2012

I <3 Power Tour...been a subscriber of HOT ROD since the 5th grade. Alas...busy work/personal life precludes me from participating until my kids are old enough to ride along without a diaper change!
  15. I looked into chopping a beetle, but there are usually a ton of little issues that need to be dealt with. Not cost effective, as anything that's $1500 needs engine work or a lot of rust(structural) repair. I'd rather start with a full-frame, RWD platform. I'm still thinking about a chop-topped older American sedan with a reinforced frame, cut springs, and a gutted exhaust system. Glass is expensive A/C is expensive Repo Interior panels are expensive Trim pieces are expensive Old Wiring is expensive ...see where I'm going with this?
  16. No trucks...I'd hack up one of my own if that was my decision. If I'm going to sawzall anything, it would be an older car with seating for 4 people. From my experience, it's best to start with a running and driving car. However, the sacrifice there will be body work (local cars will have a ton of rust). I would need to look down south for patina'd metal, which I can bomb with a cheap paint job. Definitely dark and sinister.
  17. Looking into the forseeable future, I'm still going to do my Factory Five Cobra...but I'm getting the itch to do a real old-school (pre-1965), simple roadster for warm-weather cruising. Nothing fancy at all...truly a 4-wheeled motorcycle that I don't mind getting dirty, rained-on...doesn't need to handle, just cruise...cheap V8 platform for good power, great sound, and easy to get parts...slamming it to the ground.... I don't mind chopping the roof off of something, either. Any good candidates out there?
  18. That's a great idea!!! That could be a regular thing...cruise departing Easton every Saturday at 8:30am...I could put it on the site...
  19. If it's for the wife, have you checked out PT Cruisers? I don't know if you can get a 2.4L Turbo for under $10k... I've known a couple of ladies thru work that have them and they really like them. I rode in one and was very impressed with the space and design...reliability on the 4cyl is very good as well. EDIT: We all know how overpriced CarMax is and here's one that fits your bill. I do think it's worth checking out! http://www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/default.html?AVi=4&id=8213556&D=50&ASTc=pt cruiser&zip=43220&pD=0&pI=0&pT=400&pC=200&pB=0&No=0&Ep=homepage:homepage&Rp=R&PP=20&sV=List&CD=966+190+398+9&Q=d3c34fae-f80e-4670-9764-7eaa63ea67ca
  20. JESSE KNOWS HOW TO PARTY Just because it can be flushed, doesn't mean that it SHOULD. Backed up sewer FTL.
  21. I used to think about home-brewing, but seems like a lot of work. I'll stick to enjoying a few pints, let the pros brew the sauce. You know I'm down for a sample, Rick!
