In working on the Ford, I'm going to need a lot of new parts, from water pump to clutch and lots of parts in between. I've been loving rockauto.com recently for nicer parts, where they definitely come in cheaper. However, for $30 starters and alternators, I don't think the quality difference in advance auto parts and rockauto are that much different. The big thing is the shipping: $8 for a $0.45 thermostat gasket is a bit ridiculous. Plus, for any warranty work, there is a time factor in shipping a part back to rockauto for a new part. Advance is right around the corner. Thoughts, CR? If I could get a price match from advance on rockAuto's listed pricing, I think that would clinch it for me;I'd keep the parts-buying local.

Has anyone done it, or used a professional service? I'vet got follow-up questions, too...

Truck came with a 10" clutch, but after some inspection looks like it is tapped for 11" clutch as well. Background is the T-18 4-speed, gone over and looking good...needs gear oil first! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=5835 Engine needs reassembled, but I am happy with M&M. It's primed with break-in oil. Didn't realize the Comp 252H cam is flat tappet; I'll have to keep it filled with zinc additive at every oil change! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=5834 EFI exhaust manifolds!!! Test fitting them here...will be interesting to see how the stock "log" intake and single barrel carb does paired up with these things. I still need to put in a major Rockauto parts purchase this week...
