  1. My Morea Green BMW would never have been a color I would've chosen, but it quickly grew on me for sure. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=840&pictureid=7186 I specifically sought Thunder Grey for my CTS-V...jumped on one out in Cali when it came up for sale. Then, the Lincoln...in it's Medium Chamois Metallic glory... Yes. I went from a fan of black cars to a more sophisticated palate.
  2. Same here. That thing looks really clean. Congratulations, man!
  3. I was reading the Jalopnik article about the Mahindra Roxor essentially being a new factory-built 1947 Jeep... https://jalopnik.com/heres-how-similar-the-mahindra-roxor-is-to-an-old-jeep-1823474555 ...and it made me think of other "iconic" cars, like the aircooled VW Beetle, aircooled Porsche 911, Ford/Chevy/Dodge pickup trucks...chassis's that survived decades with very little development because THEY DIDN'T NEED IT. There's something to be said for that level of resilience. Today, most manufacturers have to refresh their models on a 3-5 year time span or they just fall out of relevance to the market. I appreciate when I see a car - like the Challenger - where they did a great job and they're milking it as long as they can. *that said, it's still a Chrysler. #bodycontrolmodulefailure #rustholeswithin7years #bhph #subprime
  4. Mike's right...when I was doing videos for CC&C, iMovie is suuuuuuper simple to edit video and add sounds/effects. I genuinely appreciate what you're doing. Try to stick with it as it's great exposure for the shop.
  5. I like the "Please put I WANNA GO FAST in the subject line" instructions, to see if people are serious about the car. I'm not...and never would be.
  6. I've been blessed to go on a lot of fun trips in my adult life, and the most eye-opening have been the two cruises I've been on in the last 4 years, as well as Riviera Maya. You can't go wrong at that price for 4 people. Have a great time!
  7. I know. Doesn't change the fact that $5k down on a lease makes me LOL HARD
  8. Cadillac ATS-V? Whoa...$529/mo $4,909 due at signing........I just threw up a bit in my mouth.
  9. Agreed...been following Gingium on YT and his N/A FC RX-7 build really shows the simplicity and tossability of a 13B rotary. Would be a fun platform to punch around the street and track. Does Berto still have his V8 RX-7?
  10. Similar pricing for a 2007 CTS-V? Asking for a friend (6.0L LS3) Curious if factory intake and exhaust restricts too much power from a streetable-but-lopey cam...
  11. My favorite contributor to this thread is greg. Thank you for your work, sir. To quote JT and Chris Stapleton: "Sometimes the greatest way to say something, is to say nothing at all."* *given this is an online, text-focused forum, I'll go with typing the least to get your point across.
  12. YOU can do it...i still don't know how Kerry fills in pages of text on company time during the week. It's a skill, I'll give him that, but one that's either a waste being used to argue politics on CR or a waste altogether.
  13. Holy. Shit. Or, as the license plate suggests...UNholy shit??? :gabe: An amazing job again, Tim. Given your list of products and procedures, you definitely embody the "if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it" mantra. I try to keep my things clean (ex-winter) and really appreciate your level of detail.
  14. I was actually going to respond to Kerry's post from earlier this morning, but the walls-o-text...i just can't do it guys.
  15. That’s a good point about the spindles vs lowering coils...yes, the spindles retain geometry, but I do want to retain the 16s for winter wheels/tires. If I don’t like the spring drop, I can add spindles later.
  16. Truck: 2001 Silverado 2WD V6 RC/LB - 76k miles, basic work tee-ruk Job: To drop it, but do it on the cheap for a cheap truck Work level: Suburban yardwaste hauler. Highway DD. Nothing heavy, probably no towing. This is a basic truck that I got for super cheap. But, I can't leave well enough alone with any of my trucks. Putting 20s and beefy tires on it this month. F/R Drop Options: 1"/2" - Front coil spring, rear shackle - Cheapest at $155, but rear geometry off and probably not very noticable. 2"/4" - Front spring, rear shackle and hanger - $242 - Most drop I can go before i have to start cutting or modifying front spindles. 3"/5" or 4"/6" - $500-650 - New front spindle, rear axle-flip, C-notch to frame required. Biggest drop, which is not what I'm looking for as I do still want usability. I'm planning on 2/4 drop as that's what most of the INTARNUT recommends, but still curious what CR thinks.
  17. Neighbor is selling his long-time DD Impala. Gold with I think a tan interior. Everything works, except for the drivers’ electric seat warmer, and a brake line that just ruptured. 137k miles...he wants it gone. $500
  18. Lease Jaguar XE AWD? Something suuuuuuuper cheap...$289/mo https://www.jaguarusa.com/current-offers/xe-offers.html?abkid=424-553000&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-a3pg6zP2QIVQrnACh1UJAyxEAAYASAAEgJOu_D_BwE&c If you're looking for something nice that covers literally a GEM golf-cart commute, go nice brand, but cheap AF lease option.
  19. Good calls above from Andy^^^ - bring $50-100 in ones and tip like mad for food, drinks, towels, room service...you will get great attention. - bring a Yeti-style insulated mug...great for keeping coffee hot or adult beverages chilly and servers don’t have to bother with glassware. - If you have a Southwest credit card, that’s one of the easiest flights ever to Cancun. It’s like 1 hour more than Columbus-Ft.Myers. Crazy how quick that flight is. - it’s been said before, but HAGGLE FPR EVERYTHING if you’ve got cash for gifts. Dollar bills talk. Ithe only gifts I did for our kids were these hand woven bracelets with their names on them. Guy spent an hour making both and his price was $25 per bracelet; I got both for $30. Kids loved them...I definitely got my moneys worth out of those bracelets.
  20. If it wasn't for that accident, I never would've found my CTS-V, Casey. I'm glad everyone was OK, of course... but it's funny how some things work out.
  21. We did Secrets in October (there's like 3 resorts) with 8 couples, went through Playa Del Carmen to go fishing with the guys, and had an absolute blast. All 16 people agreed we don't want to bring our kids when we come back....but we will be returning. Now, the one day trip I wish I could do again for the rest of my life was Tulum, and Rio Secreto. That is an absolute wonder of the world and an amazing area that we'll probably stay at when we return. It's 'SPENSIVE, so no kids as it is more roughing-it to be cheap and walkabout day trips that would likely bore kids at that age. The all-inclusive family-friendlies (like Sandals or XCaret) will be your best bet. If this is your first time going, I would seriously contact a travel agent. We used Karen Hull and the rooms we had, extra services, trips etc were invaluable.
  22. Geez...$2billion will buy you the last thing you'll ever need to buy on this planet . It's a yacht, it's a home, it's a convention center, it's a submarine... Very cool. Sad I'll never own one, but I'd love to see it in person sometime!
