fyi blazers are 7.5's you can get a low mileage 8.5 from a junkyard for about 200 bucks

does the coverter happen to still have the oe bolt circle or just the welded tabs for the V8 ?

if the boot came with a bag full of grease and you didn't completley remove all of the old grease then there mightr be too much and some is seeping out the other probability is that the clamp is not tight enough around the end of the boot

its right on manifold vacum it upshifts late at light throttle and it won't kick down unless I shift it down manually

so it's all vacum controlled? the modulator might be bad then it never downshifts when the accelerator is pressed and the up shift points are high (no tach) but it sounds like 4-5k rpm
